More often than not they fail to pick up the barrels that are in the same place every week. The barrels are out but you can not see them until you ride down the road which sometimes they do. I just ran up a block with my barrel to catch the driver. read more

The prices were slightly higher than others that I called around but they were just convenient to order from. Note the image attached to the review. The driver placed these 4x4 wood blocks before lowering the dumpster on the driveway. Usually these drivers are in so much rush they won't do it unless you demand them. Plus the scheduling and timing were easy and relatively prompt (about 2 hours late). There was a scheduling error but the person (Kenny or Brian) pulled thru and got my dumpster picked up in a few hours on the same day. Another issue is the extra fees for mattress that I'm told "that I should have known because everybody knows that." The owner decided to split the cost but still said that I should do my due diligence and ask about other charges. Im not in dumpster industry but I guess if the owner feels this way the entire company will take on that attitude. Definitely recommend asking about all other possible fees before giving them your credit card info or you will get a major sticker shock. read more

Locally owned, a human answers when you call, and their rates are around 60% of what another Waste Management provider charges. I won't out them by giving you their name, but let's just I already did. Single stream recycling in massive bins? Yes. Auto-pay? Yes. Late afternoon pickup? Yes. (But y'know, that might be my neighborhood.) I'm not fanboying over trash pickup - it's just that Troupe doesn't have any reason to earn less than five. Give 'em a go. read more

After dealing with issues with another waste company, I emailed Troupe for information. Within minutes Doug responded with a price list, tentative delivery date for barrel as well as all information needed to begin services. We were told to have the barrels out between 6-8 am and to our surprise, unlike other companies we've used, Troupe is here by 7:30 each week. They also put the barrels back exactly where we had them and pick up anything that is dropped by the mechanism on the truck. Additionally, the gentleman on the truck are extremely polite and friendly, waving or saying hello anytime we're outside. I also have to commend these drivers on their caution as we live on a narrow street in a heavily wooded area and other companies have damaged trees and power lines in the past. Look, I know it seems a bit weird to rate your trash peeps. And I realize not too many people are Yelping for a trashman. But to anyone in the South Shore or Greater Boston area: if you've got trashy needs, Troupe is the place to beat. I head up my condo association and trash is an ongoing saga at our complex. As a result, I have had frequent discussions with owner Doug Troupe. He is so nice, so accommodating, and so responsive. He has gone above and beyond to help our association save money, and even matched a quote for that was significantly lower than what he was set to charge for a particular service. And as an added bonus, our trash pickup guy is both very good-looking and very charming! Makes the days my husband forgets to take out the trash much less frustrating. He walked me through all of the steps to cancel my Allied Waste contract and even wrote the cancellation letter for me! I had been with Waste Management for years and finally I got rid of them, not before they ripped me off a couple of hundred dollars more than they should. I am so happy that I could find a trash disposing company like Troupe Waste. The price is much lower and the service has been much better! With Waste Management, our trash wasn't picked up from time to time and we wouldn't receive alerts about the missing pickups. When I called in to check, I would got the answer that a vehicle was blocking the way and they could not have access to our dumpster. I wanted to pre-apy for a regular service for 3 months (two .96 gal) as all of my adjacent neigbors have- but they told me NO. They want to know I am perminent.
