Two locations right beside each other. One is a high-rise and the other, a single level. My locker is in the single level. They're cheaper. I do think the high-rise has better climate control. No issues. Ample parking. Never any problems getting in or out of the coded driveway or building entrance. read more

They just raised our payment by $60. This place is FILTHY, there are NO CARTS they have disappeared. The public bathroom is NEVER OPEN. So if you are in your storage unit and have to go you are screwed. I would not recommend this place. The staff is nasty and the facility itself is dirty. They have placed some portable units in the middle of the parking lot, that make it very hard to navigate and on top of it they flood. A new manager is needed this place is a mess read more

Marlon is the best!!! I use a storage unit for work and had to switch locations to the Old Fourth Ward location. I always appreciated Marlon and the team at the Cheshire Bridge location, but now that I see so much difference in the level service, professionalism, and quality I had to come back and write a review. There's such a marked difference I'm considering going out of my way every day just to move my storage back to this location! Marlon ALWAYS went above and beyond to be friendly and helpful, and he was always on top of things. I never knew how much of a difference there could be from one location to the next until I moved, and if you're anywhere near this location, choose it! Also, as a woman who has to go early in the mornings and sometimes in the evening, I appreciated that the location always felt safe and that even the parking and dumpster area are gated. It's not the same at the O4W location, and sometimes homeless people hang out at the dumpster early in the morning before there's any staff there. read more

I just got back from a business trip and discovered that, while I gave them my credit card information when I rented the second unit, they DID NOT CHARGE MY CARD as I was led to believe for the first month's rent. Instead, I came back to find that they also added a $10 delinquent feel to my bill. SO: 1. I rent the new unit. 2. They take my payment information. 3. I sign for anything and assume the first month was paid LIKE LAST TIME. 4. I go on a business trip. 5. I was just charged for two-month even though I moved out two months ago. They have rats that eat your furniture and make homes in your boxes. The roof leaks water in your units. If it were possible to give negative stars, I would. I have been a customer for over 2 years. Not even 2 months ago, I was informed of possible water damage due to a "storm" (that later I found out was a contracting company doing roof maintenance who didn't properly tarp the roof, so the storm caused damage). I do not live locally, and it took 2 weeks and multiple escalations to corporate to get the local management to respond and enable family to assess the situation. I do give credit to the fact that once I finally spoke to the district level management, the situation was handled quickly. BUT THEN - less than 2 months later - I get a voice mail saying that there has been ANOTHER leak and that they recommend I move my things out of the area????? Sorry, Extra Space Storage - it is YOUR responsibility to provide STORAGE - that is what you say you do. Hiring faulty contractors is never ok - but once you had an issue in July - how could you let it happen AGAIN less than 2 months later????? SHOCKINGLY poor. Stuff happens - but how you respond to it says everything. The complete lack of availability to address the first water leak damage (no one was in the facility at all from management and were unreachable by phone even according to Extra Space Storage HQ and to a third party investigator) is unacceptable. And then now to have it happen AGAIN in less than 2 months? (and all this is on top of what others have said about random price increases) read more

I left my things in a 10x10 storage unit for over a year, and when I came back everything was still in perfect condition. When I needed help getting rid of the last few boxes from several states away, Marlon pointed me in the right direction. My space went up in cost one time over that period by an incremental amount. I had a storage unit there for a little over five years. I first started out with an indoor unit, 5x10 which was nice because of the temperature control. I need to move to a little bigger unit so I moved up to a 10x10 unit outside, which was the same price as the 5x10 indoor unit. I understand that and did not have an issue with this. Each year that I was there I received a $20 - $50 increase to my monthly charge. This year my charge was going to be $250/month for an outdoor unit. I started checking into other prices and came across Uncle Bob's Self Storage. I was able to get an indoor 10x10 unit for $95/month with the guarantee that my rate would not go up at the end of the year. I am very disappointed in myself that it took me this long to look into other units. If you are looking for a storage unit I would suggest going to Uncle Bob's before signing up anywhere. The $145/month I am saving each month is definitely worth the ten extra minutes I have to drive to get to my unit, plus all their units are indoor. read more

I needed a storage facility asap due to a housing situation that went array last minute. I reserved my unit at 10:45 Wed eve. Thurs am a very jovial, friendly and warm man called to confirm my reservation. I stopped by there after work to fill out paperwork and the same man, Marlon, helped me with my paperwork. He was so very nice which was much appreciated during a stressful time. The pricing is good (1/2 off first month) but they have a policy that requires your renters insurance to explicitly state it covers materials at that specific storage unit, which of course mine did not. Therefore, I was stuck having to purchase their insurance...again, not the end of the world but I've rented at several other facilities before that never required that specification. It all ended up working out in the end and again, the customer service at this place is superior! I would rent here again if I needed to in the future and would recommend it to anyone else. read more
