Helpful service and good selection of clothing/accessories! Found a very sophisticated and fashionable dress for my boyfriend's company dinner. I love how the dress hugs my body in all the right places and isn't too revealing either. It was kinda pricey ($80) but not too bad for the quality and comfort that it provides. Funny thing, I went to Icing (another store on the other end of the mall) to look for... duh -- icing (cheaper/affordable accessories) and showed one of the employees my dress and she fell in love with it and said that after she was done with her shift, she was going to go over to Express to buy herself the same dress! Also, the employee in the fitting room was very helpful with helping me choose the dress out of the stack I had tried on and also even offered some tips on how to wear my hair, etc. Friendly/prompt service + good selection = 4 stars :) read more

This is one of my favorite clothing stores. They usually have chic yet edgy and stylish looking clothes here for ranging from business wear to evening outfits. Today I got an awesome blue violet mens cut shirt here that is cuffed at the elbow. It's fitted so and stretches so it's comfy yet sexy. I also got a beautiful metal chain necklace with some purplish beads in it that matched the shirt very nicely-:) It wasn't cheap, the shirt was $39.50 and the necklace was the same price. I was certainly bad today! But I deserved it! The necklace will go great with a few other items I have. It was the last one left so I had to get it. Right now if you buy one jewelry item, you get the other one 50% off of equal or lesser value. Also, they're having a sale on clothes and scarfs. If you buy one scarf, you get the second one free. I love this store even though most of the stuff is usually expensive. When they have sales though, you can find some really great stuff at bargain prices! I've found some super cute tops here in the past that used to be $60.00 and went all the way down to $15.00 or less-:D I hope this store stays around forever! read more

Express is my favorite clothing store and all the sales totally have me hooked. If is isn't a semi annual sale, then it''s a holiday sale, or a weekend sale or a sale's sale and so forth. It kind of seems silly, but hey I stop in. Just today they had a store while 60% off sale. Hurrah! I bought: A dress 2 sets of leggings 1 one shoulder top ALL for fairly cheap! I like their selection and most seasons are pretty good. Though occassionally some are off and I find myself going else where. From going out, to work, to play - they have it all. And in that not too overstated sort of way - but they have some silly stuff too. And this location too is well stock, organized and very clean. If I need something? The staff is always there to help. Even one time I had two men who worked there help me with a "Meet the Parents Outfit", they were so sweet and outgoing! I ended up with the perfect "We'll Take Her!" response from the parents. Just your typical Express. I would have given them 3 stars but the gal behind the desk needed to check herself when it came to customer service! I came here with a friend who was hoping to exchange some shorts and they were doing inventory in the middle of the day. Rather than trying to help my friend find a solution the girl said "look, I just don't have the time to help you, OK?" and we were shocked! It was also the tone that made us so caught off guard. I am sorry but when you are working in retail it is your job to have SOME semblance of customer support skills. I will NOT be going back! read more

Just walked out of here with a smile after receiving "next level" customer service. I walked into Express needing assistance like a toddler that can't reach the sink to wash his hands. After being welcomed by the staff and expressing my needs, I was taken on a journey to find a dress shirt. My needs are simple. I need to be the second best looking person at a wedding (After the bride) and I figured Express would help me get there. Ray and jessica(don't quote me on that) immediately started finding me shirts that would help my cause that I felt like Chris Tucker in Rush hour 2 when he met Jeremy Piven at the clothing store and he kept going "buttercream buttercream" when they were suit shopping. Minutes later I have a nice dress shirt with socks to match and I'm out the door a happy and trendy customer. Thanks Express staff for being like an awesome date on Tinder. Fun, Fast, and carefree. I have to post an update based on my experience a couple weeks ago. I bought an embellished graphic tee a couple weeks prior and when I went to wear it earlier in the week, I noticed there were two little holes in the back. Knowing Express's policy of an even exchange for damaged merchandise, I went in after work to exchange it. And of course, my size was sold out. I had couple options-walk out of the store with the damaged top, try to return it or try to see what else the cashier could do for me. To be honest, I was expecting to be told there was nothing they could do for me. But I got in line and was helped by Claudia. She looked for my size in the stock room (and actually looked...unlike some people), she called another store for me. When both came back negative, she offered to get me a different shirt and ultimately I exchanged for a size up (hopefully it'll shrink a little) Through it all she had such a great attitude, totally upbeat and really wanted to find a solution that would make me happy. read more

Go during there x-mas and black friday sales, everything is 50% off! If you go during the sale, expect long lines and clothes misplaced; its only normal during the holiday season. I bought some clothes online, they made it easy for me to exchange some items in the store. Also, i noticed their photographer pants have a weak point. the internal button gets loose. on one pair they completely fell off, luckily i was within a few days of their 3 month exchange policy. i will be altering my other pairs so this doesn't happen to them since i can tell they are all already coming loose after 3 months. overall they have good customer service, at least during slow times when they aren't busy. Tip for the clothes: BUY A STEAMER, you will get a lot more wear from their pants and shirts ($50 bucks from bed bath, or less with a coupon). i steam the shirts after every wear, cuts down on the washing/dry cleaning and keeps them looking/smelling/fitting perfect. the quality is towards the low end of "high end" clothes, so taking care of them will go a long way. also, inspect the bright shirts closely before leaving the store. a couple of mine were faded in the corners of the shirts (wear they wrap around the inserts). i got home and noticed a very strong faded crease, with super faded spots in the chest area. i go with the photographer pants and 1mx shirts. the fit is slim and looks great. every time my friends or GF sees me in my express work clothes they make a comment about how good the clothes look, but that i am still ugly. side note: i park in the far southeast Nordtroms lot. usually parking right in front of nordstroms and express is just outside of nordstroms in the mall (downstairs). read more

I love the clothes here. The clothes are perfect for either work or play. Well, my work anyways. The prices are alright, but worth the style and feel of their clothes. The reason I did not give it 5 is because of the service. I would have ranked it lower if I did not already know what to expect, which is nothing. The service sucks all the way up to the point when you are paying, then for some reason they get really friendly. Lousy service and complete lack of professionalism! I really hope this is the last year we receive a gift card here. The Hubs and I were shopping, clearly we were shopping for him. I approached the counter and asked a couple questions regarding a garment without proper ticketing. As the associate is assisting me another decides it was the proper setting to blurt out to the associate assisting me "Aye, is that your gf?!" No, I'm not his gf, I'm actually a customer. And yes, I can hear you all the way across the cashwrap. Awkward? Later as we hit the register to pay, he decides to glare and hide. As we exit the store, continues to glare and hides. Assuming he is of a leadership role as after the initial scene, we were left to climb a step stool ourselves to fetch merchandise off a top face out while three associates congregated a couple steps behind us. They then head to his direction and inform him of their completed tasks or something. Obviously customer service assistance was not on that list of accomplishments for the day. read more

I actually thought Express was a women's only store when I was dragged here by the ex to get a shirt for the brother. They have at the end of the shopping season a big ass pile of shirts and such for you to choose from that are on sale. My favorite Express in San Jose. The Valley Fair location always has a large selection of clothes, and other items (shoes, purses, accessories, etc.). I am also an online shopper, and I never had any issues with returning items I purchased online. The Sales Associates do not bug you, but offer you a changing stall as things accumulate into your arms. They also follow up with you when you are in the stalls and bring you different sizes. Clearance rack is very small. I always spend so much when I shop here but I like their jeans, and work shirts. read more

One of my favorite places to shop..whether for business clothes, graphic tees to go out in, or boxer briefs..I love Express. The best part of this store is the selection. They have an abundance of sizes and way more stock then the Oakridge store. The employees here are also alot nicer then the Oakridge store. i used to love express- i felt they had a good quality, and good customer service. lately, i've noticed that they're dedication to their customer is slipping. I live on the central coast and this is the closest flagship store.. so if I want certain dresses or a larger selection of sizes-- I go here. I have bought countless cute dresses here which I totally adore and love...but with this area comes the whole Silicon Attitude... fortunately when coming here today the people were nice and pleasant...I got a fitting room no problem and there was no eye rolling or bs. They get three stars for having multiple fitting rooms, the sizes I want and the type of clean and classic dresses I love for reasonable prices.... but I will agree with Stephani J. that this particular store does not ask you if you want anything or put your name on the whiteboard and be a mini personal shopper like many stores have started to do. read more

This is pretty much hands down the best Express store I have ever been to. You may find some good deals at the one in Westfield in SF or find one or two things at the Bay Street store in Emeryville, but nothing compares to the Express at Valley Fair. There is always an extremely vast selection of almost anything you need. Express is the perfect store for the up and coming professional about to make his way out of college. Great looking and fitting jeans. Almost any colored dress shirt that fits perfectly. Sophisticated sweaters that won't cost you a fortune. Those are just some of the great things about this store that you won't find anywhere else. Ok sure most Express stores have all that, but the selection at this one surpasses any other. Sure the t-shirts might make you look like a guido douche from Jersey Shore, but it is possible to find one that doesn't overdo it. The other great thing about Express is that you never have to buy anything full price. There is always bound to be a coupon online or in the mail for $25 off of $75 or something along those lines. With these, Express turns out to be a pretty good deal for the high quality products they sell. read more

This location was AMAZING from start to finish. On my birthday, my mom and I came in here (Tuesday march 7th) and a very nice girl greeted us the moment we stepped in, and gave us the most stellar service experience I've probably ever had... When we had clothes we were interested in, she was attentive and helped us out with the dressing room as well as being mindful and courteous about our space...she did a great job at checking in on us and just made us feel welcome :) her colleagues were equally as friendly and helpful as well! Been standing in line for 20 minutes, they have 2 employees working the register and there are at least 10 people in line. Went into store to take advantage of sales for Christmas. The line to the registers was 10 people deep and wasn't moving. Didn't see a floor manager anywhere and when I asked for some help the girl who was already helping another customer couldn't be bothered. And they wonder why retail sales are down? i dont go to express very often because i feel their clothes are overpriced for what they are, but will go when i need slacks for work. their editor pants are my absolute favorite! as im growing out of my slacks, i had to come pronto as i was getting uncomfy in my too tight editor pants! :( my friend hooked me up with those coupons they give out when you make a purchase ($30 off $75 and $40 off $120) and knew they had a buy one get one half off editor sale going on. go in the day after getting the coupons from my friend, and the sale ended~! boo. but i still needed them, so i was on a mission to buy 2 and get my discount anyways. havent been in the store in awhile, and was confused when i couldnt find the editor pants anywhere. low and behold, there was a seperate area they made (or just built a wall through the middle) for work dressy clothes on the far left. the worker there helped me get my sizes, but twice, she gave me the wide leg (which i didnt realize until id go to the dressing room to try on). she said they were the same, but they weren't, and i knew this because there was a price difference. finally got my size, and i picked out a regular and long since there was only one regular size left. when getting ready to pay, and asking the cashier what the difference is besides being longer, she was nice enough to offer to look in the back, and she found another pair of regulars! wahoo! very nice of her, didnt even think to ask. was glad i came in, but really, i prefer just buying their stuff when there's a deal because i feel a lot of their things are overpriced for what it is. read more

I came here with my cousin yesterday as she was looking for work clothes. She spent over $400, but I didn't feel like she got her money's worth! I would've gotten so much more clothes for that amount! She had like 3 slacks, a dress, a cami, and about 6 blouses...I could've taken her to Macy's and we really would've been shopping! Their clothes are definitely overpriced!!! They didn't even have a lot of sizes in stock! Their accessories were really expensive too. I wouldn't shop here. I knew pretty much exactly what I was looking for here...I even saw them in the window: high waisted satin short shorts... I walk in and cannot find them anywhere, so I ask the first girl I see after wandering over from the fancy side to the denim side... I ask for the satin shorts, like the ones in the window that lace up the back... and she says..."Uh...what? I don't think we have anything like that, but if we do they'd be over there" (pointing to the side I just came from). Sad story...so I find some other satin ones that are kind of cute, and I honestly think for a moment that I'm crazy and did not just see my perfect shorts in the window. I take the pair I did find over to the fitting room and a friendly salesperson lets me into a room. She checks on me not too much longer and I ask her about the shorts and she gladly goes and finds me the ones that the other girl had no idea exsisted. They were perfect! And she was really sweet and got me sizes and seemed happy to be at work. I like that. I also randomly found a 15% off coupon online so I was super happy with my buy :) I have to say the service is hit or miss. Express clothing is only worth if it is on sale. Some of the prices are crazy because like Alexandra M. said, it is not the best of quality. I did get dress pants, a skirt, and a nice top for about $50 (all of the pieces on sale) so that's a deal! Ever since I started working in accounting, I have always bought my dress shirts at Express. The quality of their dress shirts for men are very up to far with any other dress shirts I have ever owned. I like it so much that I think I have like 40 dress shirts...that's right, 40 and counting. From white to striped shirts, to IMax, to custom and fitted size, Express has the right fit shirts for me. Especially now that I have lost weight, the dress shirts are definitely looking sharp! I always wait before there is a bargain before I buy one because it can be quite expensive. Therefore, I wait until there is a huge sale, especially when they put it in boxes according to sizes. Its only fair that I write a review about this place because EXPRESS MEN always has awesome styles at a decent price. I have to admit, I love the clothes here, it sets me a part from my friends whom shop at the OTHER stores such as AE, Holister, Heritage 21, you get the idea. I was never into the Abercrobie, AE, holister look to be honest. Plus I like to dress classy, not trashy! J/k. Well, Valley Fair has one of the BEST Express Men store around because 1: its only Express Men (not an express with both Women and Men). and 2: I always seem to leave with at least one item. The only other Express that seems to impress me is the one located in Caesars Palace's Forum Shops in Las Vegas. I love the large selection that this location has, but beware of their box sales. Idiot's will sometimes mix in regular price items and you go to the register looking stupid because something rang at regular price. That aside, I like almost everything, though I hate the vibe I get from some of the workers. Sometimes, I get the vibe that I shouldn't be in there because the workers stare as if you shouldn't be shopping there or as if you might steal. But its retail and its their job, but so what if I go in down dressed sometimes? Don't give me those looks! haha, But Yes, despite the looks or sometimes messy box sales, this still ranks high for me as one of my favorite store's at Westfield's Valley Fair. :) 4 stars from me :) read more

This has been the only place I have shopped at since the last piece of clothing I bought for myself in the past year or so. What can I say I'm a simple guy when it comes to clothing. For me, it's the quality of the clothing I like about this store and not just the brand itself. it's very hard to find clothes for me because the ones I use to buy else where tend to shirk a lot more than I would want it to even when I hang dry it. -____- The material of Express clothes is on point were it barely shirks and will last and not fade. The customer service at this store is great from my experience. I went to purchase a v-neck shirt that I wanted and when reach the register the cashier told me about a deal they had with the v-neck shirts. It was a great deal where I look for 2 more v-neck in different colors. Not knowing that there was a deal I would have, wouldn't have came up with more shirts that day. I also ask the cashier if he would check on a color to see if they had some in the back and he did but found non. The cashier trying to see if they had any back stock in the back, that's some great customer service right there. I was a satisfied customer by the time walk out of the store. They have a lot of great clothes to offer especially if one is looking to get all dressy for an occasion or just for work purposes. I myself is looking forward to buying some dress shirts, ties, and slacks that really caught my eye when I was there. They offer slim fit shirts and slacks which I love because I hate having a dress attire that looks baggy. I usually always end up spending an obscene amount of money here, but that's just me buying a ton of pieces at one time. This is probably the best Express store in this area; there's way more variety at this location than at the Great Mall or Oakridge. You can combine coupons to get even more money off your items, which is another thing I love about Express. The only thing I can't stand about this location are the racks of clothing in the little area that separates the left part of the store from the middle part. When there's a huge crowd, those racks become a bit cumbersome. read more

The staff is usually very very friendly and helpful. In April 09 I went for jackets and bought 3. The girl there helped a lot to quickly get the sizes I needed. In aug 09 I went for jeans. The guy called Ben helped me try out many different styles similar to what I was looking for and I even found a new one not there online. So I got 2 I liked.
