My experience with Expert Pool Table Moving & Recovering was excellent. When I initially called for a quote on a pool table move, Bill advised me against purchasing a particular used pool table and gave me tips on how to find a really good one for a great price. When I did find one several weeks later, I sent a picture and the initial specs over to him and then Bill even agreed to go check out the pool table himself and pick up the table for me if he approved of it's quality. Then Bill and his employee brought the table to my home and installed it. There were a few minor hiccups in picking up all the parts from the table's previous owner and screwing in all the pieces perfectly upon installation so Bill replaced the old cloth with beautiful new cloth and came back and adjusted the uneven screw without issue. All at a very fair price. I am very grateful I found this company! One of the worst experiences I've had in a long time. They showed up right on time, (which was the only good thing), in an unmarked van, disheveled appearances, raggedy clothes, (no matching T-shirts or polo shirts), scraggly hair, and didn't say a word to me (the buyer) or the seller - just started taking apart the $2000 pool table I just bought. Didn't introduce themselves or anything. Then they started carrying the side pieces out to the van, IN THE RAIN, without any protection. I asked about a contract of some sort, curious to what happens if the table is damaged by them. I was told that they've "moved thousands of tables & they knew what they were doing". "I'm not doubting that, but it IS raining, so what happens if the van gets in a wreck on the way to my house?" I was verbally told they guarantee their work. (Like THAT would stand up in court). The seller tried to speak to the guys, who would ignore her & walk right past her. Finally she said very sternly, "Would you just stop for 2 minutes!" He did stop, she vented our concerns to him, and he said "We're not moving this table" and started putting it back together. One of the guys, Willie, called the owner, and handed me the phone. I wasn't given a name, but his phone said "Dad". I asked "Dad" about a contract, and he started YELLING at me, like how DARE I ask. There are other little details I've left out , but the point is this: their lack of communication skills and terrible customer service practices make me wonder how they got this far. I am an Esthetician, and I have waxed thousands of people. I wouldn't TOUCH a single client without a consent form, and I certainly wouldn't YELL at someone paying me to do a job for them. I don't understand how the owner thinks it's ok. The appropriate thing for him to do/say to me would be something like, "I'm sorry, we normally don't have any paperwork, but if you like, I can have my guys jot something down on a piece of paper for you". I would NEVER yell at someone that hired me to do a job or service for them. Ever. It's flat out disrespectful. If I were them, I would learn some social skills. I would also have a form to fill out, marking any existing damage to cover my own ass (like a rental car). Extremely unprofessional company. read more
