The finish was rough and did not reflect quality craftsmanship. She returned to the store to address the issue directly. Explained her concerns and showed the problem areas. She was told the work looked "fine" and were offered a redo of the solder. At that point, she declined further work because we no longer had confidence that the issue would be corrected properly. She also sought a second opinion from another jeweler who advised against having it repaired there again. They also said we should get our money back since we weren't happy with the service. I was a loyal third-time customer of Alexander Jewelers in Temecula, but after my less-than-pleasant experience, I will not return. My primary concerns were the lack of communication/acknowledgment and my overall customer experience. Back in early August and for my birthday, I selected a new diamond and new engagement ring already on display in the store. Raymond, the store owner, conveyed that modifying the ring head to accommodate the diamond I had selected would be fairly straightforward. The sales associate, Grace, told me the finished ring would take approximately two to three weeks to complete. I was given no explanation regarding the computer-aided design (CAD) process, when I should expect a CAD rendering, or any nonrefundable CAD fees. On day 12 of the process, having received no communication from Alexander Jewelers regarding my order, I had to follow up myself. Raymond then texted me a CAD design with no explanation. I reviewed it with him in person the following day and requested a couple of changes, which he again made seem fairly straightforward. After allowing three additional days for some communication regarding the second CAD ring rendering, I again had to call for an update. The store employee, after conferring with Raymond, who was right there, told me they were working on the revised CAD but could not provide any estimated timeframe for when it would be ready. None. I patiently waited another six days (for a total of three weeks since ordering my ring), and in that time, I had received only one CAD rendering, which I had to pursue myself. Keep in mind, I had been told that the completed ring would be finished in approximately two to three weeks. It was at this time that I decided to cancel the entire order with Raymond and Alexander Jewelers in Temecula for lack of communication, follow-up, and poor customer experience. What should have been an exciting, celebratory, and enjoyable experience had become unpleasant and stressful. Upon cancellation by text message, and to my utter surprise, Raymond told me that $375 of my deposit would be retained as a nonrefundable CAD fee. He referred me to the "process document" I had signed when placing my order, although I had never been given a copy of it. When he later sent me a photograph of what appeared to be a small invoice, it contained no explanation of the CAD process or any mention of a $375 CAD fee as he had stated. I do accept, however, responsibility for signing the receipt without carefully reading the fine print below it. Additionally, at the time of the deposit, neither the CAD process nor any mention of a nonrefundable CAD fee had been explained to me verbally. Most disappointing was what happened next. Raymond asked me by text when I canceled the order why I wanted to cancel. I believed he was genuinely interested, so I responded honestly and candidly, providing both positive feedback as well as my concerns regarding communication and my overall customer experience. I received no acknowledgment from him--nothing, not even a thumbs up--when it was he who inquired about the cancellation in the first place. I received no acknowledgment from him the next day either when he sent me a photographic copy of the purchase receipt, guiding me to the alleged verbiage regarding the CAD fee. No return communication at all. In my opinion, no response is a response, and it speaks volumes, loud and clear. Particularly as a loyal third-time customer, there was no attempt on his part to address my cancellation concerns, offer an apology for my not having received a copy of the invoice, make the situation right, or retain my business at all. On a positive note, after friend referrals and research, I decided to have Rare Carat jewelers in New York City do my work for me, purchasing/designing not only an absolutely gorgeous engagement ring, a stunning certified diamond, but also adding a new matching diamond wedding band as well! I'm very excited. My experience with Rare Carat has been exemplary, particularly their proactive communication throughout the entire transaction, unsolicited. My rings are still in production and the diamond has not yet been set, but I already been sent clear computer renderings of the finished designs, diamond certificate of course, and am updated daily on the progress of my order, including an expected delivery date. Thus far, I highly recommend Rare Carat without hesitation. My advice to anyone considering any work with Alexander Jewelers no matter how small is simple: Understand the process and expected timeframes before placing a deposit. Ask exactly what fees become nonrefundable and when, and ask for it in writing. Leave with a copy of anything you sign, and read any fine print that might be present. Lastly, unless their communication practices change, be prepared to follow up diligently on any orders you place. read more

Yesterday, I broke the prongs on my engagement ring and the center diamond fell out. I have had horrible experiences with other jewelers, so I was very trepidatious about who I was going to have repair it. I walked into Alexander Jewelers, which is a very nice jewelry store in the Promenade Mall since 1999. Raymond took a look at my ring, said they could fix it in an hour and a half, and quoted me a very fair price. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised on quote and time. I told him I was nervous about the outcome and he invited me to sit in his store and watch the jeweler repair my ring. Upon hearing that, I was no longer nervous and didn't need to sit and watch. There is also a window you can watch repairs being done while in the mall. Raymond repaired my ring, a gold earring, two gold chains, and replaced a watch battery under 2 hours. I had told him I was only at the mall to get my ring repaired, so that I wasn't just sitting at the mall, he rushed all of it. Very thoughtful and I did not expect that...his service went above and beyond! Phenomenal Experience. Wife wanted her rings soldered and had stopped in one day to ask if they could do it. Wonderful Lady working told her to bring it in on certain days as turn around time is quicker. I showed up on a Wednesday right at 10am. They said my job would be second in line and would take a couple hours tops. They called me at 10:59 to let me know it was done. I had not even left the vicinity of the mall yet. I needed to resize and re-dip my wedding rings and was expecting to walk into a jewelry chain store at the mall and have them take my rings for 1-2 weeks to get it done. I didn't know what to expect since I had never had this done before. Sure enough I was greeted quickly and warmly by a young woman. I told her that I needed to resize and redip my wedding rings. She sized my finger for the best fit and let me know that it could be done today and in about an hour and a half! Best part a flat $100! I was still nervous about leaving my rings since they are so precious and sentimental to me but I had nothing but good feelings about this establishment. I left my rings and walked around the mall, as planned, with my kids. They called and I picked up my GORGEOUS cleaned, freshly dipped in white gold, and perfect fitting wedding and engagement ring! It fit PERFECTLY! I felt like a newly engaged girl all over again because it had been 2 years since I was able to wear my engagement ring on my fat fingers . Came here last September to get my Michael M Engagement ring sized because I referred from a friend who has been doing business with them for years and I decided to come here and purchase a stone and sizing. So after I picked up my ring for sizing I noticed a chunk missing from the halo so I had to come back 3 times which was a hour drive for me and my fiancé and every time we came back they did not fix the chunk out of it and I didn't have time to keep coming back so then I took my ring back to Robbin brothers where I originally ordered my custom designer ring and they said that they voided my warranty on my ring because of the negligence of this Alexander's jewelers , not only did they ruin my ring they sized the ring with the wrong gold and also bubbled the bottom from putting it together !
