First off I'd like to say that this place is amazing, my daughter has been receiving guitar lessons from James since December of 2015.

I've worked with Hear No Evil to record music several times over the course of the last few years…read moreand the experiene is always excellent. The studio owner and recording engineer is highly knowledgable and friendly. The studio staff are all very helpful and organized. Everybody really cares about their craft. The space itself is beautifully built and invites creativity. The atmosphere is relaxed but professional. There are several rooms for recording. As a drummer, most of my time is spent in the main room. The Hear No Evil team sets up sessions quickly while maintaining a positive atmosphere. My recording process has always gone smoothly. There are a wide range of instruments, microphones, and amps to choose from and the staff will help recommend what to use for the best result. If it's a longer session, there is a microwave and fridge to heat/store some food. Parking is on-site, free, and abundant. I give Hear No Evil my highest recommendation!

As an artist paying for studio time, that's incredibly distracting and disrespectful. I did not feel valued as a client. After leaving, I was repeatedly asked to rebook, instead of being asked how the session went. Bad vibes kill creativity. I would never go back. UPDATED Feb 1-11:24pm After leaving this review, the owner Elliot messaged me AGAIN on Instagram. Took zero accountability and only cares about his image. NOT the client. To address your comment, I asked for a discount, cuz your interns run the session. As Indie artists we have to fight to protect a space we paid for. Often times we don't have other options in the area so we suck it up, but no more! This is not a good studio. I would not go back. Look at how he responds to feedback...

    Quality Recording Booths

I bought a booth from them in September 2014, and it was the worst experience ever. Not only did we…read morenot get to see the booth before it was shipped to us (it was in the contract that we would be able to view the finished product beforehand), but what I got did not meet the criteria that we had talked about and payed for. I play violin, and specifically asked and verified that the sound isolation was adequate enough to handle an instrument for regular practicing inside an apartment, and would also be ideal for recording. Unfortunately, there was no sound isolation whatsoever of my instrument and you could hear EVERYTHING outside of the booth inside of the booth (thus, ruining any chance at recording). Here is a video taken as soon as the booth was delivered of the sound isolation level. You can even hear me say "Are you ready" from INSIDE the booth while the iphone was recording outside of the booth. Not good. Search "Quality Recording booth demo" in Youtube to see the video of the quality. Your best bet is to save up for a Whisperroom. Never trust the sound isolation quality of a company that does not report their noise reduction stats on their website.

I needed a recording booth for voice-over recording. My work involves HD video filming and…read morepost-production editing that requires consistent audio narrative. Much of the subject content is how-to technical training, and I now have corporate clients. I publish/produce an online magazine (4WD Mechanix at www.4WDmechanix.com), so filming and editing also include events, how-to and motorsports. Post-production work is at my office, and my aim was dramatically reducing ambient noise interference from the street and immediate sources. I searched extensively online and considered the music industry mainstay recording booths. Quality Recording Booths appealed to both my aims and budget concerns. In opening a dialogue with owner Jake Davis, I was impressed by his willingness to build a recording booth that could double as a post-production editing station. I wanted a mini-office for my desk and large (49" diagonal) 4K Ultra HD monitor. For voice-over, the booth would serve for both recording and simultaneous video editing. Jake provided access to his clients that do similar narrative/voice-over work. An audio professional was willing to discuss his success with a Quality Recording Booths booth. He took this a step further and introduced me to the sound engineer on his projects. The engineer shared that his test instruments showed a clear reduction in specific frequencies of ambient noise. In his view, the results were comparable to higher-end studio environments. That sold me on having Quality Recording Booths construct a custom booth to 6' x 6' double insulation standard. Ambient noise was a prime concern, and we did Quiet Rock and heavier acoustic foam in the build. Lighting, the right electrical outlet for my computer and sound equipment, a sand-filled laminate raised floor on casters, sound-resistant windows, a solid door with locking knob and other details were in the project and bid. Custom exterior color and trim color were as per my choice. Quality Recording Booths is a smaller company, and these booths are each "custom built" to the customer's standard. I visited the shop before committing, and Jake was very clear about the time needed to build the booth. I planned a return from Northern Nevada to pick up the completed booth. The package was ready on schedule. We loaded the floor assembly, wall panels and roof for my return trip. Once home, I was able to assemble the booth without issues. Realistically, with no prior experience, it took a full day to assemble the booth, though I'm certain Jake and his brother could put a booth together in hours. Each unit is completely assembled and fitted at the shop prior to teardown for shipping. Customers can elect to have Quality Recording Booths deliver and set up the booth for a fee. As for results, I am very pleased with my decision to have Quality Recording Booths build my custom booth. The sound recording quality is the biggest plus to this booth/mini-office. I am experiencing a completely new level of recording, and voice input is now effortless. This is where the booth excels and will clearly pay for itself in client and audience satisfaction with the finished, post-production video/audio products. Regarding the ambient noise factor, the booth meets my realistic expectations. Outside or ambient noise has been eliminated at a broad range of frequencies and decibel levels, enough to record without issues or the need to edit out unwanted sounds. I can work around those noises extreme enough to be heard inside the booth. Like the customer I interviewed before purchasing my booth, I'm enjoying a highly professional recording environment. In my case, I very seldom experience extreme noises or frequencies that cannot be readily squelched or handled by my sound equipment. An added advantage is that folks outside the booth no longer have to adjust their lives to my recording schedule. Sounds from normal activities do not reach inside the booth. Nor can they hear me recording voice-over! Am I pleased with my Quality Recording Booths unit? Absolutely. Realistically, the cost is undeniably far lower than the popular commercial booths, and Jake Davis worked very hard at meeting my needs and expectations. The sale did not end at the point of pick-up, I have worked with Jake since at resolving minor concerns and benefiting from his advice on the best sound equipment solutions for my specific recording. I gave Quality Recording Booths a 5-star rating because they tried hard to meet my expectations. The fifth star is for effort and willingness to make the after sale experience as worthwhile as the price and custom build. I'm satisfied with the materials used, the sound quality and the cost. Note: I'm submitting this review to share my personal experience. I'll follow up with a video on the booth shortly and provide a link. You can judge for yourself whether Quality Recording Booths delivers what you need. They did in my case...
