I decided that I wanted to learn how to play the guitar I received as a gift years ago. It was in pretty rough shape when I retrieved it from a corner in my garage. Having lent it to my brother at some Point, all the strings were broken, it was dirty/dusty, and there were pieces missing. After taking it in to Pete's music a couple weeks ago, the guitar was refurbished to an unrecognizable state. Not only did one of the employees (I think his name was Trevor?) restring my instrument, he also cleaned all the nastiness off of it and replaced the missing piece for me. It looked beautiful by the time I picked it up (the whole process only took about an hour & only costed me $30.) I'm so grateful for the care and attention they gave my instrument there. Went to Pete's music hoping to get better service and price then the big guys. I was not wrong. My son wanted his first guitar for his birthday. I had gotten several different advice from many people. Andy, at the store, was amazing. He took the time to explain the differences in a Acoustic Guitar versus a Electric Guitar for a new player. He never hurried us and answered all our questions. He then let my son try different guitars to see which one fit him and didn't try to sell us anything. We spent a good 2 hours there going over different things. Andy was extremely patient and amazing in his knowledge. The prices were also great and I never felt pushed to buy "more" than needed.. Pete's Music's Guitar Tech did an incredible job setting up, and changing-out all the electronics in my Les Paul to the push-pull Jimmy Page setup, as well as installing CM Daugherty hand-wound Page pickups. Their work was incredible, as was their customer service. Additionally, they are very reasonable/affordable for the caliber of work that is done! A great experience to say the least. Moreover, I brought my Fender Custom Shop Strat in because I could not get rid of some high-fret buzz myself. I thought that it may have needed the frets reworked or something that I could not determine...fearing something very expensive...it turned out to be a neck adjustment--and there was NO CHARGE! Definitely the BEST music store in Temecula! I went in simply to ask their opinion on a guitar someone wanted to sell me. What an amazing experience. Their technician, John, examined the guitar, gave me a quick analysis/an honest opinion on the quality of the instrument. But that was only the beginning. He also tightened-up some switches on the guitar and then ... he did a truss rod adjustment! He was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. Thanks to his work the guitar is now a better instrument. Total charge for his services: $0.00! And the lady behind the counter (I did not get her name) was quite knowledgeable and helpful as well. Andy has always been so helpful. We bought my sons first guitar there and when we need a small tune up they always take care of us. We never feel out of place or ignored. Andy especially is very knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks for being a great place to shop for musical instruments with shared experience from the shop guys to go with it. This place took all the anxiety for me not knowing guitars away by showing me and sampling and giving me the best discount they could on the guitar we bought. I took the bus to Pete's Music weekly 38 years ago when they were in Anaheim.for guitar lessons. I asked Pete to teach me how to apply harmonic minor scales. He was surprised that a 14 year old was interested in playing obscure classical scales, but he taught me exactly what I wanted to know. I had to stop taking lessons as they conflicted with HS basketball practice. Flash forward 30 years later, I walk into Pete's having flashbacks of taking lessons there as a teenager. Tommy was awesome, off the chart, great and friendly and knowledgable. I was concerned as I felt There was a co worker that was trying to be his superior at the "cost" of making me feel uncomfortable. I think the owner should be aware as a customer I can sense the weirdness of co worker"game" of power trips. Trevor was too busy throwing his weight around instead of being satisfied that Tommy was giving me great customer service. I worked for Universal Music Group for years And dealt with scummy lawyers and hoped for more from a mom and pop shop. I have been a returning customer to Pete's for a few years now. Andy, one of the employees, is extremely nice and is always ready to help. My friend had a show just the other day and neither of us could find his drum key. My first thought was to call Pete's and see if Andy was there. He answered promptly and found us a drum key within seconds. The show sucked, but at least we got the drums situated with the help of a badass. Thanks! Although I don't play any instruments, we wanted to take our 16 month old daughter into this music store to show her some cool sounds. Andy was working and took full advantage of playing some instruments to put a smile on our sweet baby girls face. Every since I moved to Temecula from Chicago I did a lot of searching for a music store not the big conglomerates. My neighbor told me there was one close by , the movers damage my 76 Ibanez Roadstar fretless. I called and talked to pete directly. After our brief conversation he told me to bring it in. He saw it played it and said give me a couple of days . I got it back and OMG ITS LIKE BUTTER. Now for the past 3 years I go to Petes for everything and he treats me good . On several occasions, I've gone in with my kids' instruments, and the staff is more than willing to assist us with everything we need. My daughter started playing the flute in 6th grade. I took an older flute to this shop to have it cleaned up and fixed. I was more then happy with the results of the cleaning and making the flute beautiful like new again. I take my daughter's flute to Pete's whenever it needs help. Excellent service. I had gone to a competitor before going to Pete's to fix a big problem on the day of a gig and I was a bit nervous about it. The competitor had completely misdiagnosed my guitar problem (saying it was a tress rod adjustment and they would not even take me that day). I just had a bass repaired from Pete's music. JR went above and beyond to figure out and fix my problem which turned out to be more complicated than I thought it would be. He explained the repair even showing me pictures! The whole shop has a very friendly vibe. I'll definitely be back should any of my other instruments need a repair. Went in yesterday to the Menifee location, we were in a bind since we needed a flute fixed in time for a Disney recording in a few days. The man at the Menifee store tried his best to fix it on the spot however he recommended we go see Cassie at the Temecula location. I want to give a big THANK YOU to the luthiers at Pete's music. They have fixed an old mandolin with a broken nut, resoldered an electric guitar that had a short, and set up an acoustic guitar from a pawn shop. The luthiers have adjusted action, changed strings, and filed a saddle for me, too. I can play guitar, but I don't have the tools or skills to do luthier work on these instruments.
