I took my Les Paul-Epiphone for some upgrades to Petes in Menifee. I had him (Mike) replace 2 pickups, the nut, the tuning keys, the bridge tail piece set, the pickup selector switch and the knobs. I went from chrome to gold for the pickups and bridge set. The job was done earlier than it was supposed to be and when I saw my guitar, oh my god. What a thing of beauty. But the real surprise happened when i got it home and hooked it up and played it. It plays WAY better than I could have imagined. Really. The work was top notch. Best guitar work I have ever found. Came in to get my guitar completely wired up due to me not having the most confidence in my soldering capabilities for a guitar I was building, Met with Mike and he was more than pleased to wire it for a very good price and went above and beyond with letting me know my guitar neck needed a little tweaking as well and also adjusting cavity depths for the components all at no extra cost to get the guitar working very knowledgeable and helpful and couldn't be happier with the work done and guitar sounds great. We bought a guitar there for my son 18th birthday and my son broke it by accidentally stepping on the body of it. My children and I all play instruments, and we've been to Pete's Music on several occasions. The store is small, but products are displayed well in the space provided, prices are quite reasonable, and they almost always carry what we are looking for. Once, the store did not have an item for my daughter's flute in stock, but they made a few calls and informed us it would arrive the following morning. The part was, indeed, there in under 24 hours. During each visit, we are greeted promptly. Nobody hassles us to purchase anything, nobody tries to upsell products. A handful of times, we weren't charged at all for tiny parts or quick fixes, and they give professional advice regarding instrument care and cleaning. Our most recent visit to the store, last week, involved obtaining new reeds and checking our clarinet for damage. J.R. (the "bald dude" with super cool glasses) helped us immediately. He spoke directly to my children and included them in the conversation (why don't more people do this?). J.R. cracked jokes and managed to maintain a certain level of professionalism as well. He helped clean and correct the clarinet, gave us solid instructions for future use and reed care, and sold us exactly what we needed. Thanks, J.R.! I have been coming to Pete's Music since I was a little kid for lessons and gear. Today I called to see if they could repair a bass with active pickups that a friend had gifted to me. I spoke with Mike, and he assured me with all the confidence you want to hear from someone who is going to be operating on your gear that he absolutely could. So I brought the bass in after work and Mike was ready to get started right then and there. He had a pretty good idea just from our brief phone conversation where to find the problem, and sure enough there it was. I have brought in a number of electric guitars over the years for either mods or general setups and Pete's has done a phenomenal job of making my guitars feel and sound amazing every time.
