Musicology specializes in providing each student with the most fun, educational music lesson experience possible. At Musicology we teach all ages and experience levels. We offer private guitar lessons, piano lessons, voice lessons, drum lessons, and much more! We also offer various group lessons, instrument workshops, and recital opportunities throughout the year.
Our music teachers have years of experience and will teach each student how to play their instrument with proper technique, and will teach students to play the songs that they like to listen to! We also utilize group lessons and instrument workshops in order to help students have fun practicing. For example, our Rock School class groups students together by age and skill level and gets them playing and performing songs together as a band.
Our state-of-the-art music studio features music rooms that have been designed and furnished specifically for each instrument. Also, Musicology offers the only drum lessons in the area on real, acoustic drums - not electronic drums.
History
Established in 2012.
Although Musicology was founded in 2012, Steve Denning, the owner of Musicology, has been teaching music in the Temecula/Murrieta area full-time since 2001. After teaching at various other local music studios, he felt that the only way to provide students with fun, high-quality music education was to open his own studio.
Opening Musicology has allowed Steve to hand-pick teachers that are both music industry professionals and quality music educators, and has allowed him the ability to control the curriculum of his teachers in order to ensure that every Musicology student leaves each lesson excited about practicing at home!
Hence, Musicology's history is one centered on high-quality, innovative music education, and the company's future will remain centered on these qualities.
Meet the Business Owner: Steve D.
Steve Denning holds a B.S. in Physics from UC Irvine. He has been a full-time music teacher and pro musician for over 13 years. Steve has toured nationally more than once, including live television and radio performances. Steve has a passion for teaching and extensive experience teaching children and adults with various disabilities such as: Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Schizophrenia, Dyslexia, & various other disabilities; he also spent three years as an Educational Therapist at the McNichol's Learning Center and the National Dyslexia Foundation.
All of the Music Teachers at Musicology are trained in techniques that Steve learned or developed over the years in order to better facilitate the learning of music. Steve's innovative instructional techniques maximize the student's interest, while at the same time providing the student with quality music instruction (And lots of fun). He sets high standards for all of his instructors and personally manages them to ensure they're the best!
