I'm just getting around to writing this review, I moved in July 2019-exactly a year ago! I remembered that I really needed to write this review as I renewed my lease on my apartment. I had a WONDERFUL experience with Expert Movers. I've moved MANY times, and have used two different moving companies prior to Expert Movers. Expert Movers made a wonderful first impression. This is such a small aspect, but it was significant to me: The truck was marked with the Expert Movers logo, and the men were in an Expert Movers shirt. Gustavo and two other men showed up, I regret that I don't remember their names. Both of the previous companies I used did not use a marked vehicles and the employees were not in any sort of uniform. For me, this shows that Expert Movers is an established brand, and the professionalism was apparent from the beginning. I had an 8 am pickup, and they arrived at 7:30 am. I was all ready, and I've always wanted the first slot of the day. The move was going very smoothly, they packed everything up efficiently and safely. I had delicate glass shelves that I took out of a bookshelf, and the movers wrapped them carefully-they made it without a crack! When we arrived to my new apartment, there was a big issue on my end. The management company for the apartment said that they would leave my apartment unlocked, and my keys would be in a drawer. They said they'd leave my apartment unlocked at 9:00 am, and I took their word. Expert Movers and I arrived at 9:15 am...and you guessed it, my apartment was locked. It was a Sunday, so the management office was closed. I had no idea what to do. Moving is already so stressful and exhausting. I couldn't think logically, so I asked the men "Should we drop this off at my parents' house?" That was, no lie, the only solution I could think of, but Gus had clearly encountered this situation many times. Him and the other men didn't change their facial expressions one bit during this situation, they showed no annoyance or impatience at this huge inconvenience. He calmly said "let's find someone who lives here that we can talk to, and see if they can help us locate the maintenance staff or someone who can help." I was alone, exhausted, and stressed-and I think Gus could tell that I wasn't up for that task. I was too afraid that if I'd talk to anyone, I'd start crying. Gus talked to the first resident that walked into the lobby, and fortunately, she was able to help us. She had the e-mail of one of the management employees who actually lived in these apartments. I sent an e-mail, and immediately got a call from this woman who apologized and said that the maintenance employee was on his way to drop off the keys. I of course had to pay a little more for the extra time (that's in any moving contract obviously), but that was the least I could do for how they handled the situation. Fortunately, the movers weren't even close to being late for their next assignment. Long story short-choose this company! You won't regret it. read more

We hired Expert movers to pack our belongings. A person came on site to give an estimate, which was great. FYI, this was our second move with them. But our first time using the packing service. I gave them a full week worth of availability and they picked the day before the move, so a Sunday. I have heard this is usual in the moving business so I was fine with it. The team of packers showed up on time; good start! my husband has lots of collectibles so he had made a huge sign by the entrance that read : please assume everything is fragile. And he told them, to be on the safe side. He then moved to another room to leave them space and because they are professionals - and because of Covid because they were not wearing masks. We had confirmed the quote for the packing and the supplies and had left overs from another move so we told them to use whatever. We had tons of wrapping paper. After they left and I came back, we spotted a box and noticed it was torn off with tape taped to a brand new limited edition game. As well as a collectible statue floating around. So we opened the box; nothing was wrapped, nothing, just piled up in the box. All collectibles. With now boxes corners bent.The packing box was not labeled so it could have ended up at the bottom of a pile in the trunk. We looked closer at other stuff: Tv packed with screen and corner exposed; clocked not wrapped in a box opened at the bottom, etc. They used zero of the wrapping paper they brought or we had. And damaged collectibles stuff. We sent multiple emails but the company is closed on Sunday. Movers were scheduled to come at 8am but the admin part opens at 9. So our foreman had to repack every single box. At the end of the move, we talked with someone from the administrative branch who basically offered to not have us pay for the repacking the foreman had to do. That's all. The person on the phone said he is responsible for his guys but still needs to pay them. Did he offer to reimburse us for yesterday's fiasco? No, because he has to pay for his guys because they did their job. Well, no, they didn't. Their job is to make our stuff safely movable. It was not. And it was damaged. Any decent company would pay their guys but eat the cost to make it up for the awful service they offered. But not Expert movers. Nope. They did offer to not make us pay for the repacking. That is all. Never again, Expert movers, and I will make sure that my friends don't hire them. We might have had a bad apple for the packing crew, but the worst is the way the company handled the situation. I definitely DO NOT recommend them. read more

My girlfriend and I were moving from Knoxville, TN to Chicago, Il. While friends helped us move out of our apartment in Knoxville, we didn't know anyone in Chicago. Moving is a headache, especially across states. With so much going on the last few days in TN, I put off finding a moving company until the day before we arrived to the city. I called 6 or 7 moving agencies and got 6 or 7 different estimates. Expert Movers was the only company available within our desired time frame, and they were the least expensive while still being insured. I was given a 3 hour window of time for delivery, 11am to 2pm. My girlfriend and I arrived at our new apartment, in the Ukrainian Village, early. Luckily, Eduardo from Expert Movers called around 10:20am to ask if we wanted them to arrive sooner! Of course we said yes. Eduardo and Lucio were great from start to finish. They unloaded all of our belongings, including a large leather sofa, without issue. The same leather sofa took my friends nearly 40 minutes to remove from the old apartment. However, Lucio and Eduardo knew exactly what they were doing. They moved items from the moving truck quickly but cautiously. It took 1.5 hours to completely empty a 16ft moving truck. They even offered to move items around in our apartment, if needed. We politely declined because we weren't sure where we wanted to place things at the time. However, it was a kind gesture that I committed to memory. I highly recommend this company. We couldn't have moved, literally, without them. They are professional, affordable, and quick! Five starts. Thank you Expert Movers for making our move to Chicago a little less stressful! read more

I used Expert Movers yesterday 8-18-24 for my move from one storage location to a different storage that was a bit more resonable. This move was a bit overwhelming just in general because anytime you are moving anywhere rather it's from a home, aparment, storage etc., moving can be stressful and very overwhelming. You want to make sure that you find the right company that has resonable pricing and not trying to take advantage of you. Well Expert Movers is that company! The price that was quoted for my move was resonable for there standared rate of 2.5 hours. Where as other companies wanted to charge wayyyy more. So I'm very appreciative for that. Also the two guys that moved me...shout out to LOUIS and TURBO they were already there when I pulled up. I thought I would be there first waiting on them, and they were there before the start time. They were VERY PROFESSIONAL, and did not waste anytime getting started LITERALLY. They moved everything quickly, and packed everyting up nice and neat so that nothing would move while the truck was in route to the next location. You know how some companies try to milk clock, and the move by taking there time trying to take you over the amount of time quoted so that you end up payijng more. This was not THAT! These two guys were moving because they knew they had a job to do. I gave them both a tip because I appreciate the professionlism, the great attitude both of them had from beginning to the end, and the great job overall! I recently moved combined households with a friend. Somebody had recommended a different moving company to us, and we had that company booked. But they literally never showed up for our move. So very last minute, we were trying to find a new company to move us and the trade association for movers in Illinois recommended Expert Movers. Coming off a horrific moving experience, we just wanted an easy move and this was everything could have hoped for. Eduardo was fantastic to work with for a quote and for a very last minute move date. The prices were reasonable and the communication we received was excellent. The team of three movers (Jose, Lucio and Samuel) were phenomenal. We had very limited window to move things from the first location -- an elevator building -- and they made it while still taking extraordinary care with everything. At the second location -- a walk up to the third floor -- they likewise did a fabulous job and were quick and efficient. The guys then brought the truck to the destination and were fabulous about making sure the boxes and furniture ended up in the appropriate locations, including taking a few things to our basement storage area. Our experiences were overall outstanding. The team did go over our estimated time, but we expected that given Chicago traffic and the distances which would need to be traveled between each of them. They were friendly, efficient and we certainly are going to recommend the company. If you want an economical move with stellar service, Expert Movers are the way to go. read more

I hired Expert Movers on a recommendation from a coworker. They showed up on time (a little early actually but they were super patient and waited until I was ready). They made sure to clarify what was going and what was staying then got to work straight away and hustled the whole move through. They have this down to a complete science and they made sure all my furniture was protected and all the boxes were sealed, taking a moment to read any special notes I had on the boxes (things like fragile and this side up). They even offered to wrap the TV for free at the end just to be nice. They didn't need any help getting to and from my old place to my new one, they were totally self-sufficient. I think I was most impressed with the move into my new place; they took the time to put the boxes labeled bathroom/kitchen and bedroom in their respective rooms without me asking. They checked with me to make sure the couch, TV stand and bed were all set up in the right places. They even managed to fit a huge queen sleeper sofa into the smallest elevator I have ever seen (saving me an extra $100 to not take it up 6 flights of stairs) without damaging the couch. They estimated $270 and the total came out to around $310 or something close to. They checked with me after the move and had me make sure everything looked okay and that nothing was left on the truck. He even double counted the money and confirmed that I had added extra for the tip. All in all, these guys offer a professional, honest and service with fair prices. read more

They all had masks and wore them, which was much appreciated, even though I felt terrible for them because it was hot out and they were lifting things! I had planned on using another moving company, but they weren't available to store my furniture overnight. I was selling and buying a place at the same time, and there were some delays in the closings. Sandra was extremely kind and understanding on the phone and helped me schedule everything as things changed. Sandra and Michelle were both responsive on the web portal (which is also super helpful in terms of entering all of your items for a quote) and made a very stressful time much easier in terms of making sure my belongings were moved and taken care of. Sammie (sp?), Jesus, and Omar were super friendly and clearly had a process of teamwork to make everything go as fast as possible, including wrapping everything up very professionally and carefully. I appreciated Expert Movers sending three people instead of just two, which made everything go faster and allowed someone to be wrapping everything while the other two were moving things in/out of the truck. They were also very up-front about the fact that there's a surcharge to use a credit card and he even calculated the difference for me versus paying in cash (they don't take checks). Expert Movers' flexibility and understanding was a life-saver during a very stressful time. read more

An AMAZING experience from beginning to end! I recently bought a remarkably beautiful China Cabinet from a local thrift store. This piece was very large, solid wood and a lot of glass. There were mirrors at the back of this cabinet as well as lighting at the top. Once purchased, I had no way to get it from the store to my house. After calling several "No. 1" moving companies in Chicago - all were quoting an extremely high rate with no availability for a week out from when I needed it. I was finally directed to the IL Movers and Warehousemens association. They recommended I call Expert Movers first and I am so glad that I did. Expert Movers immediately was able to give me an amazingly reasonable quote and availability for the move within 1.5 hours of calling. Eduardo and his team are amazing and treated this antique china cabinet as if it were their own. Arriving to the store ready to work, they were amazing at how they secured the piece, wrapped it with blankets and plastic wrap to insure its safety. They loaded it into their truck and within 15 minutes arrived at my house where they were quick yet very careful to unload it and unwrap it. I must say, having never hired movers for anything before - these guys are fantastic. When we decide to move - they will be the first call I make to move our entire load! Disclaimer: I have been in Chicago for 8 years now and have moved roughly 5 times due to schooling and/or just wanting to try out different areas of the city so its safe to say I have ALOT of experience when it comes to moving! With that being said, Expert Movers is by far THE BEST moving company in the city to work with when dealing with this stressful process. From requesting the quote to the final moments of them completing the job, Eduardo (the owner of the company) and his team were incredibly professional, fair in pricing, an overall great group of men, and I had an awesome experience! (Note: I have NEVER before said moving was awesome so this is a first :) He brought a team of three and they did amazing work, didn't go a minute over the time that was suggested even though it would have been totally understandable (It was dang near a blizzard outside yesterday ;/ Thank you Chicago). They know what they are doing and it completely shows. Not one piece of furniture was harmed or scratched and when someone mentions "going the extra mile" I will now be reminded constantly of this company. No doubt that moving can be one of life's most stressful events, with the unpredictability of movers being a substantial component of that stress. I would not hesitate to recommend Expert Movers. I requested quotes from several movers through Yelp. Expert wasn't the cheapest but they also weren't the most expensive. Their quote was very clear on the charges, while others seemed like there was a low base price and a lot of extra, unpredictable charges to be added on. The moving crew arrived precisely on time and consisted of four men, with Edwin being the lead. I was really impressed with the care they took to wrap and properly pack everything. We moved out of an old co-op on LSD, and when the service elevator decided to break down in the middle of the move they were unfazed. They made due with the passenger elevator with as much as they could until the freight elevator was repaired. When we arrived at the new place in the suburbs, Edwin made sure to do a walkthrough of the house so that he understood where the various rooms were so that everything would end up where it belonged. Once everything was moved in we did another walk through so that they could relocated any items that weren't where we wanted them. Great company, great value, and exceptional employers. I really cannot express how nice and helpful the whole team was with our move. We have had other movers in the past, and this company made the entire process easy from start to finish. Everyone I worked with at Expert Movers made the whole thing hassle free, which is EXACTLY what you want when moving. And, the value of service for the price we paid was phenomenal. The moving team headed up by Hugo was absolutely amazing. They moved us from one location into the other in less than 5 hours. These guys were not messing around, and hauled everything out, making sure it was boxed up and secure. Every time they found something with even a small amount of damage (caused by me over the years) they alerted me to it immediately, and always checked in before proceeding... every time. In the new location they were helping put everything together and rearranging furniture so we could get rugs in place. They were quick, efficient, and respectful of the space. Making sure to place boxes in each space (we used different colors for each room), and always asking questions if they were not sure. Expert is an understatement! I literally just got done with my move with Expert Movers and it was an awesome experience. I have moved on my own and used other moving companies and my experience with Expert Movers tops them all. I had the morning slot and they showed up early for my move- which was great. After asking all that was being moved out of the house ( I have 4 other roommates who are also in the process of moving so it could easily have gotten confusing) Eduardo and his team started loading everything up immediately. They were very respectful to my stuff and myself and very easy to get a long/work with. All of my items were wrapped nicely and taken care of. Once at the new place all my items and boxes were place at their appropriate locations in my new apartment. They took care of disposing of any of the plastic wrap and tape. Very quick and very efficient. All this being said the move took less then their estimated quoted time and they have some of the best rates that I saw when I was looking for a mover. There were no hidden fees or anything to that extent. I will definitely keep them in mind for any future moving needs and will be recommending them to anyone who looks for movers. We moved July 30th, from the city to the south suburbs, and this was the first time we have hired movers instead of moving ourselves. I contacted a few companies and Expert gave us the lowest quote and had a professional and friendly touch in our communication. Of course, all the 5 star yelp reviews helped sell us too, and they definitely showed us how they've earned such great reviews too. I had seen Eduardo's name on Yelp so many times, I felt like I was meeting VIP when he showed up on our job as well! I want to shout out to Sammy and Lucio (I think but may be remembering wrong, sorry!) We were not completely ready as some unforeseen circumstances had arisen the night before the move, but we let them know our challenges and they rolled right with it. The foyer to our building was super tight, so I advised them to take the outer door off hinges (which is what had to do moving in), they got that done and put it back at the end no problem. We were amazed at how quickly the team of three got all our stuff into the truck. They were patient, professional, and moved quickly as we unloaded too! THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME! We had the pleasure of working with Omar, Valentin, & Sammy. This was our first time hiring movers so we were a little apprehensive about it but these guys made it SO easy. We were estimated to move between 1300-1500. They showed up promptly at 1300 and didn't waste any time before getting right to work. The 3 of them clearly knew what they were doing! They were extremely fun and cracked jokes here and there WHILE they were strapping whole dressers to their backs. But seriously, they carried full dressers down by themselves. 1 guy- 1 dresser. (Yes, you read that correctly- I probably stood there with my jaw on the floor for about 5 minutes. haha) Not knowing what to expect going into the day, the 3 of them absolutely killed it by moving a 3 bedroom out and in within 3 hours. We were more than impressed. Omar, Valentin, & Sammy were so polite and easy to work with and made moving day 100% stress free. It honestly could not have gone better and I am more than happy with the affordable price and professional service Expert Movers provided! Would I book them again? ABSOLUTELY Would I recommend them? My wife and I just moved today. We turned to Yelp as this was our first time ever using movers and had no idea what to expect. From the first call to get the quote with Jocelyn till the very end was nothing but perfect. Jocelyn was very kind, and explained everything over the phone of what is included in the price, and what would be additional. I had a couple of questions for her before moving, and she was extremely prompt, and always responded very quickly. Now bring on moving day... Jose, Lucio, and Sam arrived. As mentioned before, this was our first time using movers, and we literally felt clueless. I have so many great things to say about this moving company, that I don't even know where to begin with my review. I have moved many times and have used many other companies, but none of them have left me with such a positive experience as these guys. I called other moving companies in the Chicago land area and this one gave me the best price. I sent them many emails with different questions and they were fast to respond. The other companies that I emailed, took days to respond but not these guys! Eduardo was so professional and knowledgeable. The whole process of completing the contract was fast & easy. On the day of my move, the guys arrived on time and were friendly & professional. I was relieved to see that the guys were treating my furniture with care as they were moving it. All of my objects were wrapped properly and nothing was damaged. The guys were working very hard and efficiently. I couldn't have asked for a better moving company.
