Today I paid a visit to Experimac. I found them after googling to find where I could take me iPhone for service. I was more than impressed with their hundreds of 5 star reviews. When I called them, I got their voice mail, twice. I chose not to leave a message thinking I would wait a little while and call again. To my surprise, about two minutes after my second call to them, my phone rang. They called me back, apologizing for not getting to the phone in time before I hung up and asked if they could be of service. How impressive! I explained my issue with my iPhone, the gentleman gave me a quote and told me no appointment was necessary I could come right in. So right in I went. The place was spotless, the decor and lighting absolutely beautiful. The staff extremely accommodating and friendly. Friendly greeting upon walking in, same at the service desk. The service superb and the price was right! In and out in 30 minutes. I would highly highly highly recommend Experimac Richmond Virginia to anyone and everybody! I came out of there smiling! If I ever need service again for my iPhone, iPad or Laptop, this is the place I will go too. Thank you Experimac, Richmond for your superb and outstanding service. read more

My wife had a Mac and it was over 10 years old.  She tried to load an app. and it crashed her computer.  All her files, pictures, legal documents, etc. were in her words, "lost."  I checked out Mac service stores online and found that Experimax had great ratings and went to see them the next morning.  Justin greeted me as soon as I walked through the door, inquired about my problem, was able to access the hard drive and found it was ok, it was the operating system that was not only corrupted, but most of it was gone.  Since the computer was so old and the screen was just about to fail, the labor and parts to fix it was going to make the repair un-doable.  They have a great selection of previously owned Mac's on the shelves, and Justin took a lot of time to walk me through each machine that he though would work as a replacement for my wife's computer.  I made the purchase. They transferred all of her files, gave her a free case and a new charger plug at a REALLY great price.  I was EXTREMELY happy with the purchase, Justin's service, and frankly the whole process.  Best of all, my wife LOVES her new computer.  I won't hesitate to go back if we need anything else.  Thanks for a really great job Justin!!!!! read more

Needed to have my computer tower repaired. It would shut down right after being turned on. Since I recently moved to the area I didn't know where to go to resolve my issue. I went online and found this place. After diagnostic check I was told that the power cord casing had issues and may need to be replaced. Concerned about cost I was told they would try to fix it at no additional cost, but it may need to be replaced and that would be additional... a day later I Picked it up but sadly the issue started all over again. I called and was told to bring it back. Fully expecting to have to buy a whole new casing for my tower. I took it back and started counting my pennies. Got the call to pick it up and went I got there I was given a new computer tower at no additional costs. Even though it should have been as they had to replace it. Not only did I get great customer service. I received GREAT EQUIPMENT SERVICE. No matter what the issue this is my new computer place. And I recommend it to everybody I'm soooo happy to have a home for all my gadget needs!!! Looking forward to bringing all my business to Leonard and his team!!! read more

I operate and own a small business. I went to experimac as a referral from a friend. I walked through the store, and the staff was extremely accommodating, helpful and professional. I looked around and could not decide on the Laptop that I wanted. I went back on March 9, 2019, and purchased a 17-inch Macbook. Upon the purchase of the mac, is when I experienced the knowledge, dedication, and professionalism of service. I cannot praise Mr. Leonard and Mr.Jordan enough for their service. They are genuinely humbled individuals that care about the buyer. My computer received everything I wanted and desired. I give them the strongest recommendation possible. If you need to purchase or have service done to your Apple product, there is no other place to go except EXPERIMAC!!! I was also happy to know they have a little more superhero knowledge than my husband, genuinely humble, dedicated professionals. Lisa W. Simply Unique T-shirts and Portraits LLC, Owner read more

My computer crashed the night before I had term paper due and would not reboot no matter how many strategies I tried. The gentleman that helped me out, diagnosed it within an hour, and had it completely restored and in better shape than when I initially bought it. Not to mention he was able to get it back to me before five that day, and threw in additional benefits like a temp./ fan regulator for overheating and Microsoft word as well. My computer has been the fastest it's ever been in the past week since getting it fixed, and it runs much more smoothly. The prices are great and far exceed all other computer/electronics resell and tech help venues in Richmond. I did my research beforehand the the competing prices are insane. Go to Experimac, it's right off of vcu's campus and you won't get overcharged or faced with a ridiculous wait. 10 stars read more

I've been to Experimax one time before and had a similarly positive experience to the one that follows. I stopped in with a typical "old man" problem regarding converting and transferring music files. Abe was working and was immediately very helpful without being the least bit condescending about how simplistic my issue must have seemed to him. I was in and out of the store within ten minutes with three possible solutions to my problem and he even let me video him click through the process and saved a link for me so I'd have the necessary breadcrumbs to find my way back to the solution. Thanks very much to Abe and to Experimax for fostering such a strong customer service atmosphere. I don't find this very often any more, but both times I've been to this store have been great! read more

Exceptional customer service!! Went in to have screen fixed on iPhone as they were best price in town and had great reviews. Took less than an hour but what was exceptional is literally I no more than left the place parked in my office parking garage and dropped by phone. They had me come back and they FIXED IT immediately no questions asked. You don't see this level of customer service very often anymore and they have earned my business for life. Plus they have tons of refurbished Apple products from phone/iPad cases to iPads, MacBook, Apple TV basically you name it they have it. Look here first before buying any Apple products on the internet folks as you know it is in tip-top shape. read more

This place is great. I came in with my mother to take a look at laptops and found one I liked. The customer service there is great, everything went smoothly, I was even shown how to use some features on the Mac since I'm a first time user. It was a Macbook Pro (used) for about $500. A week later, I wasn't completely happy with it (mostly me being picky) and they gave me a full refund and I picked up a Macbook Air instead for about 50 dollars more than the pro and I love it! Even if you don't buy insurance, they have a 7-day policy, so as long as you take some time to test out the product after you buy it, it's pretty much a 100% satisfaction guarantee here. read more

I spilled water all over my MacBook Pro and assumed t was dead. When looking for a new used MacBook I stumbled upon this website about their used macs. So I brought my broken one in to see if it had any value. Kelvin pressed 4 buttons and my laptop powered right up. He had to replace a cord and BAM my laptop was fixed and back up and running. He dropped what he was doing to fix mine on the spot which maybe took 20 minutes (most of which was just waiting for my laptop to power back on). I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat for any Mac problems and plan on returning for any issue I might find down the road. Kelvin is the SH*T!! read more

I could not be happier with this place! They are super friendly and took care of my dying computer battery. When I came to pick it up I not only had a new battery but also added extras. I was helped by a couple of people (all of which were very friendly) in the process but Alex was my contact. We had an instant connection, sharing the same name, haha! My computer runs faster and better than it has in years. I will absolutely be back when needing repairs or searching for another computer. This place is a hidden gem in Richmond, for sure! Give this place your business. You won't regret it! read more

Love Experimax RVA! When I called late Friday evening (5:30 p.m.) I spoke with Sandy who informed me it was not too late, I could come in "now" and let them repair my newly-cracked iphone screen. My friend Alan E. recommended I try them, and I dashed over. Sandy assisted me, said it was not a cracked screen, that I simply needed a new screen protector. After our meeting and conversing, I will always return to Experimax for my Apple needs! Happy to share the good news with everyone! Dianne R. read more

Great experience with Experimax replacing my ipad screen. I ended up there after going to UBreakIFix and they told me they could replace but the home button wouldn't work - decided to move on. Experimax had the screen in stock, kept the unit overnight and called me early the next morning that I could come pick it up. Everyone I dealt with was personable and customer service was great. Convenient location on Main Street with ample street parking even on a busy Friday or Saturday. read more

Customer service exceeded expectations. I needed a new keyboard for my Lenovo laptop. When I called to inquire about procedure, friendly customer service was given. I took my laptop in to ensure that the correct part was ordered. Staff and customers were socially distanced, and I was treated respectfully. Communication throughout the ordering and repair process was prompt and cordial. I will go back again whenever I have a computer or phone issue. read more

I am a consumer advocate for the largest consumer advocacy organization in Virginia and I highly recommend Eperimac. I went back to recently with another cracked iphone screen. Turns out, I had bigger issues than I thought and they went the extra mile to diagnose and fix the problems while keeping costs down. I appreciated their clear and concise updates as the repair took longer than expected, but done timely and efficiently. Thank you. read more

I can't say enough about my positive experience at Experimac. They performed a dual HD transplant on my MacMini Server the same day I dropped it off. I got exactly what I wanted without delay or (most important for Apple service in Richmond) attitude! Experimac is an Apple service center with professional demeanor and super-rapid response. The price was well worth the service I received. You will not be disappointed! read more

Experimax is honestly the best tech store I have been to in Richmond. Their workers are super knowledgeable, personable and give great customer service. One day I did not have my laptop charger with me so I went to the shop to see if I could charge it in their store for a few hour while I ran a few errands and they were more than willing to allow me to do just that. I have never left the shop disappointed. read more

I was just at experimax 4/25/2023 Thursday morning. The guy fixed a tough problem I had on my computer. I write stories and my stories were hung up in limbo and I could not open them. They will open now. The service tech was really nice. He just opened up the store, fixed my problem and was able to help the other two customers too. You can talk to them without going through two or three other techs. read more
