Would not recommend or be back! Came here for dinner during a nice family vacation around 7:30pm. We were told there would be about an hour and a half wait. Put our names on the list for *first available* between inside and outside seating, and headed inside to the bar for drinks while we waited. Don't bother paying the $10-12 bucks for their cocktails!! There was zero alcohol in any of them and overall unimpressive flavors. I got the Berry Good and my boyfriend had the Lime After Lime, and both drinks were noticeably weak and just okay. After waiting for about 45 mins we checked in with the hostess to see how we were progressing for our wait time and she quoted us at another 20 minutes. 20 minutes goes by and several parties around us were being called on to be seated. 15 minutes past that we finally decide to check in again with the host, and only after noticing how frustrated we were with the situation THEN do they offer to seat us inside, since they notice that we had opted for either option. It seemed like they did not have a good grasp on their waiting system if we had to wait an hour and 30 minutes for a table that was free from the time we walked in (there was no one eating inside)!!! Poor customer experience to start. Once finally seated inside, the service was inattentive and slow. We ordered the loaded tots, two fried chicken sandwiches and one lobster mac and cheese that took over an hour to come out. No one came by to refill our waters - we chose NOT to order cocktails again after the unimpressive first round - and when the waitress came by, she said there was a delay in the kitchen. The food was cold and flavors weren't memorable. The service was extremely poor and unapologetic. Would not recommend or be back - there are so many better food and service experiences in Cape May to enjoy! read more

See previous review from last year. This was the last time. Jack - you need to go there and try your food. One can go to any small Indian takeout and get fresh curry every time. But at Exit Zero, it is clearly made well ahead of time in a large pot. It is thick, pasty, and without any spice. It did not used to be that way at Exit Zero. The food used to be fresh and made to order. Clearly short cuts have been made to more quickly feed large crowds and the food has suffered. Even the naan is bad; it is pre-wrapped in foil and seems to sit in a warm oven all day long. When you get it, it is dried out and stale. And why would you ever put Italian seasoning on naan??!! It would be so simple to quickly brush it with some ghee, warm for 2 minutes, and serve it fresh to your guests. It is just so sad to see this happen to a place that used to be wonderful. read more

My family and I honestly came here to visit from North Jersey and the fact that it got a 4.5 Star rating. I was confused at first wondering why they're offering Indian cuisines. My opinion, if you're next to the beach.. why not offer local seafood dishes? Anyway, the food were "okay" and too expensive. We asked for the burger to be cooked medium and it came out bland and cooked well done. The Atlantic Salmon w/ Risotto was not good. Risotto was dry, sticky like glued together, and over cooked. I originally was going to order the "Chicken Tikka Masala" but hesitant because I personally have a rule that if it's not an Indian restaurant.. don't order Indian food. You're wasting your money. But I never tried it in this restaurant.. feel free to try it for yourself. Instead, I ordered the "Bang Bang Chicken w/ Shrimp" and Naan. Basically it's a chicken and shrimp coconut curry. I didn't enjoy it. It just didn't taste delicious. The Naan tasted just like bland pita bread. I'll do give credit that it's homemade. And then the Lobster Curry. It was little bits of lobster meat. It was okay. The ONLY thing I really did like in this restaurant is their dessert. The Bread & Butter Pudding w/ Vanilla Ice Cream. Delicious! Other than that, the environment was good. Only bad side about it that it's too dark. Parents had to use their cell phone flash lights to look at the menu. Too pricey for its own good. Will I come back? Maybe just for their dessert. Solid location that's a repurposed gas station. Food was above average with a unique twist on many items. Service was quick and attentive. There was a great live band outside and the drinks were well crafted. Only downside was the table we were seated at was very wobbly. Now usually I wouldn't note this but the table was like funhouse wobbly almost unusable to the point where it would knock over the taller cups. This also wasn't a leg problem more of a table base attached to the bottom issue. If you babied the table and were very gentle with her, it was manageable however when we asked our server she told us they're all like that so we made the best of it and enjoyed our meal overall. read more

We loved our experience here last night! When we arrived the friendly hostess expressed that they were short staffed and asked for our patience. We were in no hurry, but experienced no service issues or unreasonable wait times for food. The outside ambiance with live music was awesome. We enjoyed an appetizer of crispy chicken wings with Thai chili sauce. The hubs had the lobster and shrimp Mac and cheese. It was heavy on the seafood and absolutely delicious. Recommended by the hotel staff, this was a very pleasant surprise. I wasn't a big fan of the waffle fries, not that they were not good, just that waffle fries are not one of my favorites, but the American burger was probably the BEST burger I've ever had. Just a few nights in Cape May-- hadn't been there in 20 years. Found this place on Yelp and what a find! First of all, they had plenty of outdoor tables ( not zipped up in a plastic structure which defeats the purpose) and could bring our large lab mix dog w us. Both my husband and I agreed it was the best burger we'd had in years. Perfectly cooked, thick, juicy, lots of flavor. I had mine in a Burger Bowl w pickled vegs, avocado, beets. Outstanding. We came back again 3 nights later. My husband had the burger again but I wanted to try the Bombay curry w chicken, winter squash and sweet potato. Holy moly was that delicious! Came here for dine in lunch last weekend and the food was delicious! COVID wise could be a bit better on the inside but otherwise a fantastic experience. COVID wise everything outside is great. Masks worn by people. Cozy little cabins that are even spread apart nicely. There are also outdoor tables without tents and heaters that are spaced apart nicely. Inside things are a bit hairy with seemingly far too many people inside and spaced very closely together. For food we had the epic Scottish breakfast and the Burger bowl. Both were absolutely delicious! Well cooked sweet baked beans with delicious toast and bacon, as well as perfectly cooked tater tots with a cheese sauce over them. Also with some saluted tomatoes and mushrooms on the side. AND some Scottish white pudding as well which was a nice treat. The burger bowl (which we got with fried chicken) was surprisingly delicious! Beets, grated carrots and a very light seasoning but it all came together great. Also with avocado and an amazingly crispy piece of fried chicken. The unfortunate low point were the drinks. Got a hot chai based cocktail where it really just tasted like ice coffee. Couldn't taste the chai, almond liquor, or alcohol. My hot chocolate based drink was a bit better but still nothing to write home about. Quick service. Super nice servers. Prices were reasonable enough. Oh and the music was great, really fit the old timey diner vibe they were going for with the filling station idea (you sit right around the seemingly authentic old gas station pumps). This is an old filling station with out door dinning where the cars used to gas up. The menu was primarily burgers and the like. My adult son had a great burger with a huge serving of waffle French fries which he loved. My wife and I each had the Big EZ Bowl which includes Avocado, mixed greens, pickled veggies (beets, mushrooms, red onions, cucumbers), grated carrots, tomatoes, cheddar, balsamic vinaigrette with a burger or fried chicken. What a fun find! An old gas station that has been converted into a retro bar and restaurant with an Indian inspired menu in Cape May. There is both indoor and outdoor dining and a small souvenir shop with great t-shirts. The restaurant is just out of the fray of the Cape May beach scene, which was a big plus for us. We arrived at happy hour (3-5), so drinks were 25% off. We sat at the bar, and the bartenders and wait staff were friendly and happy to offer suggestions on drinks and food. The specialty cocktails - we tried the Watermelon Margarita & the Cuke - were a bit on the sweet side, but tasty. We tried the crab bisque soup (creamy and great flavors) and the thai shrimp and coconut soup (also great flavors but could be a little less sweet). We also had chicken pakoras with a delicious cool & spicy mint crema sauce. We will definitely come back to try some of the main dishes. read more

I got the butter chicken and was really disappointed to the quality that I get in Philly. It was much tangier than what I've had before. I like a more savory and sweeter taste in my butter chicken. But this was tangier and maybe more yogurt based. My family really enjoyed their hot chicken sandwiches which were very good. The cauliflower wings were just OK also. I enjoyed their tots and waffle fries. The atmosphere outside was very nice and they had a live singer singing. Staff seemed surprised when we asked if we could close the airstream door to make use of the AC in August. Cocktails had less alcohol than O'Douls despite costing more than a 6 pack. Staff seemed unsure on what it meant for an entree to be "dairy free". $30 for a poorly cooked and small portion salmon with poorly cooked vegetables and microwaved, crunchy, rice. Side notes to management, water on request only? The majority of your menu is spicy and you have outdoor seating. Your menu is poorly designed. Your gift shop is a cash grab. Your food is overpriced. Your staff is under trained, probably underpaid too. You can eat at the Washington Inn or the Olive Branch for cheaper than here and have a top quality dining experience. No idea how this place is averaging higher than a 3 star rating but it is disturbing. Absolutely no one in the kitchen knows what they're doing. Exit Zero Filling Station recently opened about two weeks ago and it was a great choice for lunch. It was pretty empty when we went in there but the service was fast and super friendly. Menu is extensive but unfortunately broken out into breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However you can order kids menu items from 12pm on. I would say prices are the moderate but some of their items are kind of expensive. They have a gluten free burger bun option, as well as the impossible burger for the vegetarians and vegans. On the lunch menu is ranged from burgers, salad, hot dogs basically. The dinner menu is a little more exotic (see pics). They do not serve alcohol but they have this non alcoholic spirit and they create mocktails. For lunch we ordered the siracha buffalo cauliflower bites, impossible burger, Rudy dog (it's cute they donate $1 for every Rudy dog sold), and kids chicken fingers (even though I'm 21). All of it was tasty! Overall had a great experience and afterwards they have a cute gift shop filled with drinks, books, snacks, clothes, mugs etc. I definitely recommend to management to get honey mustard and allow dinner menu items to be ordered at lunch too because I really wanted something off that menu for lunch!! read more

This place was a real wild card surprise for us! It was a nice lengthy bike ride out off of the beach, but we did it several times during our vacation week because the food and drinks were so good! Great place and great food! This is an actual gas station with a restaurant. They temporarily stopped pumping gas (but there is gas in the pumps. I asked) so they can seat people outside. I hope they continue outdoor seating as it was an interesting experience. The food was excellent. My son had the Holy Guacamole burger, my wife the Butter Chicken and I had the Thai Lobster all of which were big portions. So this is a pretty neat place! It's a very new building, styled to look like a retro gas station diner. And it's actually also a gas station. There are some issues with their website, and it seems these are due to recent changes in their style, so if you come across an expired domain, that's not their current website. Anyway, they have a large variety on their menu, between burgers, curries, and other entrees. Their burgers taste great, and some of their creations include the Cray Cray, a burger patty with caramelized onions, melted fontina cheese, and two full lobster claws. It was pretty delicious, though with all the flavor going on, it can be hard to taste the lobster. The lobster and shrimp mac and cheese is decent, though on our visit, the shrimp was a tad overcooked. Cheese sauce is lighter, not thick and heavy. We also ordered a couple curries, both of which were delicious. No alcohol on tap, but that's because they're a BYOB, so hey, that's great! Service was friendly and prompt. Location is easy to access, and is away from the super-busy part of downtown. Overall, a great place to visit! read more

The reviews has good rating so I was excited to try this place out. I wasn't hungry so i got the "Mumbai Mezze Platter" to share with my mom. The pita bread was cold but I can overlook that. What got me was the heirloom carrots, they came out FROZEN...literally still have ice covered on it.. I asked the server to take it back which the server did but she brought it back and told me that this is how it suppose to be.. she mentioned that they show her the bag it came out of. Very disappointed. I have to say the menu was 5 star but the service was the worst I've ever experienced. Just getting water and napkins was difficult . We got our appetizer before our drinks even water. Our meals were brought out but didn't have silverware or napkins . In order to get a second drink I had to walk inside and go to the bar. Food came out cold. Silver was brought out only by request but didn't show up until we were almost done eating . I had to eat my meal with a spoon from soup I ordered . Came here for dinner with family. This place has an interesting set up as it is also a gas station. But, during COVID-19 the gas station part is closed as there is outdoor dining set up throughout. We came on a weeknight and it was very busy. We put in our name for a table and they said it would be a fifteen minute wait. Unfortunately, we had to wait an hour for a table. They were apologetic and said that multiple parties didn't leave their table for a long time after finishing their food. I usually wouldn't mind waiting, but I had my one year old with me and I am already buying time with her and then wasted an hour of it not even eating. Once we were seated, our waitress said the kitchen was backed up. Thankfully, we ended up getting everything pretty fast. I put in a order of waffle fries for the baby as I was told they would come fast and I needed to get her something to eat. They were very good. They had a lot of unique cocktails on the menu. I ordered the wicked watermelon which was really good but definitely had a big kick to it with the jalapeños. My husband had the antifreeze which he liked as well. For my entree, I had the shrimp and lobster mac and cheese. It was delicious, but I would've liked to seen some more lobster than there were in it. I tried my moms bang bang shrimp and chicken curry and I thought it was really good. Overall, we had a good experience. Service was great besides the wait for the table. Ok we came here when it WAS a gas station and restaurant. We loved it! We had ordered a Hot Chick sandwich and 2 other curry dishes. We love fusion! Came back the next year 1/2 gas station and 1/2 restaurant outside and full restaurant inside. This year we came, only restaurant outside (not complaining) and minimal inside. Ok STILL NOT upset. They added a local musician, nice touch and it's now "discovered" by the masses and packed!!! Food quality I must say has decreased. The butter chicken had very little protein in the dish and was mostly potatoes. The mumbai squash with 2 peppers had very little favoring overall. I ordered the Christmas Curry, the Brussels sprout were NOT cooked. HARD AS ROCKS!! Totally not cooked. I feel like a place I honestly felt the food and service was amazing has become a victim of COVID and no workers, poor service and decreased quality. We had a reservation for the air stream and it was so cute and made our dining experience. There was a record player which was pretty entertaining to ply with while we waited for our food. The drinks were wonderful. I got a cucumber drink which was great and my husband got a bourbon drink which he really liked. We got the disco fries which were amazing. We also both got curries. I got the lobster curry and my husband got the Christmas curry both were very good. Our waiter was also so nice and helped us snap some photos after dinner. We can't wait to come back!! read more
