WOW! What a dump! It was going well until my son asked for milk. He wanted chocolate milk and they said ok. The waitress comes back 2 minutes later and my son takes a sip and spits it clean across the room. At first I was upset because I thought my little son was playing games, but on smelling the milk, I realized the milk was sour. I asked the waitress if she thought that was ok and she told me she would get him some fresh milk. I said, the damage was already done. Can you please get me some water! To say the least, no deduction of bill. They even charged me for the milk even though it was sour. I will never go back and urge people to stay away. I went to this place for lunch with 3 other associates. After more than 10 minutes sitting there we finally had to ask for the waiter. 2 of the guys ordered clam chowder. They were out of clam chowder so they just sent something else without asking. I ordered a corned beef Reuben and it was terrible. I use to come to this diner very often before I moved. This was going back about 7 or 8 years ago. The food and the service were great. After I moved back I decided to go back to this place. Wow, the diner has been slightly renovated and the outside looks pretty good. The inside didn't change much, the seats change to different color upholstery and that about it. The place is ran by new owners and the awful at running this place. The bathroom looks the same and really dirty and smelly. The food is terrible and service should get less than one star. I gave it several chances, and by what I mean is I went 5 times and 4 of them were Terrible. The first time I went, the waiter did not now enough English to understand what I was ordering. I ordered a Hamburger medium-rare which has no cheese because I am Lactose intolerant. She brought me a medium-rear Cheese burger! I explained to her that I wanted a Hamburger and cannot eat cheese; she seemed a little annoyed but apologized and brought back to the kitchen. She in turn brought back the same cheese burger but WELL DONE! Was she even listening? I decide that there is no arguing, just scrape the cheese and each overcooked cheeseburger, to make matters worse the soda I had order was in a dirty cup, and had to request a new soda. The second time I went was for a late breakfast; the place was empty and figures this will be quick. I ordered a bacon and egg on a roll; Of course they came back with bacon, egg and CHEESE that took nearly 30 minutes. Nobody's hear, how long can it take to cook eggs? I couldn't stay for long so I hoped for the best and ate it. I cheese was really bad for me and the bacon was really fatty of very low quality, I wouldn't feed this bacon to a stray dog. I ordered a cup of coffee and the cup was dirty with sugar still stuck in the bottom form the previous person, gross! I told them about the cup and they replaced it with another cup. This one had lipstick on one side. Real Nasty!! The third time I gave it the benefit of the doubt and went for breakfast again. I ordered something simple, 2 eggs over medium with sausage and home fries. They gave 2 eggs sunny side up, I had to send i back to fix it. I had asked for coffee in a paper cup. They came back with a dirty regular cup. I also started noticing that everything was dirty, the plates, forks, and spoon. Everything had little bits of food still stuck on it. I also notice that the place had not been cleaned. Thick layer of dust was everywhere. It was really gross. The fourth time I when for lunch with a colleague and was the only time that had a good experience. I got a older gentlemen as my waiter that had been working for a very long time and remembered me going back 7 or 8 years, not to sound horrible, he was probably the only waiter that spoke perfect English and understood what I was ordering. I ordered a turkey club with fries and a coke. Everything came out perfect. It was pleasant, he check often to make sure we were OK. I took his name to make sure next time to request for him. The fifth time I decide to go with a friend for lunch being that I had a good experience and that maybe I was wrong about the place. This was going to be the worst experience. I requested for the waiter I previous had and was told that he no longer worked there and he had left abruptly. So we got the next available waitress. I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap with a coke, the cups for the soda where dirty. One of them had a white stuff smeared in the inside. It was disgusting! She ended up replacing the cups twice. At the end she gave us the soda in paper cups. After a very long wait, she brought me a steak wrap?? How did it go so wrong from chicken to steak? I told her this was not what I that had ordered and she gave me dirty looks but reluctantly took it back after repeating the order of Caesar chicken wrap. After another long wait she brought me a completely different chicken wrap that contained peppers and onion. I notified her that the order that was wrong again and she walked away with the wrap pissed off at me! She we on to complain in front of me to another waiter in Spanish and I not knowing what she was saying about me was quite offended. I was upset that my lunch hour was almost over and she didn't even care to listen to what I was ordering. Furthermore she had the audacity to give me a bill for the Caesar wrap that I never got. She wrote down whatever she wanted and got upset that I didn't want to eat it or pay for it. I brought my check to the owner and the first thing he did was bill me for the wrap I never got. I had to repeat to the owner about the issue and that I never got my wrap. The owner was more upset at the fact that I refused to pay the wrap that I never got. This is my first Yelp review! The reason why I created this account was because I wanted to let the world what I think of "Executive Diner!" I was so angry yesterday and my lunch was ruined because of one waitress whom I believe is by far the most laziest, incompetent, and rudest person I've ever encountered (I'm trying to keep my language to a rated PG). I'm sure if I were served by a blind monkey I would have better service than I did with this woman! To the management at Executive Diner - If you're reading this, I highly suggest you reevaluate who you hire as your employees or face the demise of your business in the foreseeable future. Words cannot express how furious I was with the service at Executive Diner! First let me start with the service. Immediately when I walked into the diner I noticed there was barely anyone inside the restaurant. My family was immediately seated by this female middle aged waitress. After sitting with my family, I immediately got up and walked around to look for the bathroom. When I saw the waitress I respectful asked her where the bathroom was. To my shock, she gave me attitude and snarkily stated that "IT'S UPSTAIRS!" After coming back to the my table I encountered the same waitress. Even before heading back to my table, the waitress stopped me and stated "What are you going to drink?" Since I didn't even take a look at the menu I said "I don't know." She responded by saying giving me attitude again and stated "Well, your family already ordered!' I responded by saying "I'll have water for now, thank you." She then sucked her teeth and walked away. I was so shocked at the blatant discourtesy! What angered me the most was not her rudeness but how she responded to my complaint. I ordered a Ruben sandwich. To my shock, I noticed a big chunk of bread missing from my sandwich (I would estimate that the hole was larger than a a silver dollar). When I told the waitress about the bread in a respectful manner, the waitress was rude, refused to changed my sandwich and stated "That's how bread is supposed to be!" I don't know what kind of bread she has in the morning but my bread doesn't have a big hole in it! Let me be clear, I work extremely hard for my money and if I wanted a quick fix to satisfy my hunger I would go to McDonald's. Yesterday I went out with my family to have some good food and spend some quality time with them. I didn't come to this restaurant and pay to be served by a rude and lazy woman! Mind you I was extremely respectful to her from beginning to end! At the end of my lunch it was the first time I had to walk out of a restaurant and not leave a tip. I believe I'm a very generous tipper. In fact I've always given my 20% and have left waiters/waitresses with extra cash in their hands just because they did a terrific job! But this woman didn't deserve a penny! Yesterday was the first and will be the last time I will ever eat at this establishment! I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone! Awful, 1st the prime rib hogie doesn't have prime rib.( Only found that out when I asked the waiter for it to be medium when he brought the drink.). So I changed my order to prime rib. When it came out I thought something smelt funny and sure enough it was rancid ( I am pregnant and can taste everything.) The waiter obviously annoyed took it back but argued that it wasn't spoiled. Ate there with my wife this morning. Greeted right away. Sat down took our drink order in a timely fashion. Cups could be bigger. Wife had the Farmers Omellete. I had the Western Omellete. They were both plentiful and very good. My wife couldn't finish hers. Took half of it home. That is how big it was. Prices were in line with everybody else. It was a good meal. Food was good. Service was not. We ordered a belgium waffle and french toast. The waiter said he would be right back with syrup for our breakfast. Ten minutes later my grandson had to go ask a waitress for syrup so he could eat his waffle.We were relaxing after we ate and apparently overstayed our welcome. I am not sure if it was the hostess or the owners Mother who came to our table, told us that lunch time was a very busy time for the diner and that we should not make it ( the diner) our home. At the time there were 4 other tables occupied, 2 of which were occupied with the same people who had been in the diner before we came in. Where do I begin? I have been going to this diner for the past 15 years and ever since the original owners sold it, the dinner has changed for the worst. It is obvious that the owner only cares of his profits. The quality of the food has been cut; the diner has serious sanitation violations. The plates and cups are so dirty you can feel the crud on the cups. Either the dish washer is broken or the owner is cutting some corners. The bathrooms are in need of some chlorine to kill anything that is growing in there. The staff is very rude, especially the Spanish short female that barely speaks any English. I went with my family to have lunch and she couldn't take our order correctly. She gave us very bad service and told us what we can order and what we cannot order. When I went to pay, she followed me and asked me, "why didn't you give me a better tip bitch" I then complained to the manager, but he seemed to not care. Went there last night (3/31). The person who sat us (was thinking it was the manager) didn't really seem to care to be there. Our waitress didn't know the menu, she couldn't tell us more than one kind of salad dressing they had, and never even came to check in on us. A table was sat next to us and they ended up leaving after 15 minutes because no one ever came to their table. It took almost an hour since we sat down to get our drinks and dinner. We ordered a Cajun chicken salad which was great, but also the Executive Burger (which sounds like a signature dish) and it came out way over done, and was also misleading because on the menu it says it is stuffed with onions and cheese, but these items were just thrown on the top of an almost burnt burger which was ordered medium. We also added bacon to the burger, but that was left out and we were charged for it. I would like to commend the bus boy though, he got us drinks, and was running food, and clearing and setting tables, and wrapped our food up. Seemed to be doing more than the waitresses were. Went in as I'm staying at the Comfort Inn next door. Read the Yelp reviews and had no expectations. Been in twice and am impressed. It's actually a step up from a traditional diner. They have a limited bar--typical well alcohols, but mix their drinks strongly, and a limited beer selection. Had an appetizer samp[er first time in and was... whelmed. The drink was the best part of the meal. It wasn't bad, but wasn't great. Went in several days later to try dinner--and I recommend the Hellenic burger HIGHLY. I've had burgers all over the country, and appreciate an unusual burger. That is exactly what this is--if you can't decide on a gyro or a burger, why not do both? Fries were hot and crispy, and the onion rings were homemade and not greasy. Good pickle, good slaw. Service the first trip was a bit sketchy--had to ask to keep our water glasses full, to me a basic of good service, but sat at the counter the second time and got treated very well. I was so excited for my first diner experience and it was such a letdown. Everything was fine up until we actually received our food. First, my order was wrong but I didn't feel too upset by it, I just kindly stated to the waitress that's not what I wanted and repeated what I actually ordered. I wanted the French Toast a la Sofia, it has bananas, strawberries, honey, peach slices and I asked for no whipped cream. She questioned me twice, I repeated myself again and then not even 30 seconds later she serves me two slices of French toast with some piece of fruit on it saying it was a peach and placed it in my face and said "That's what you wanted." I again repeated my order as calmly as I could and her demeanor was just so rude. She left again and came back with my food and there wasn't any honey but I didn't care at this point and accepted my food. The French toast was alright and I was hungry so I kept eating. The "peach" was actually a pear too???? Ok. Anyway, one thing that really got me was when she interacted with my friend about the check she was much less tense and less rude. IT TOOK WAY TOO LONG TO HAVE OUR MEAL DELIVERED TO OUR TABLE. Then the waiter was MIA for the rest of our meal. He returned almost a half hour later. Meanwhile, my wife and I wanted our drinks refilled which did not occur until the waiter finally showed up at the end of our meal. Then our waiter charged us $2.75 for seltzer water while it was $1.75 the last time we went there. When I went to pay the bill, the unfriendly owner/manager told me that it was what they charged for seltzer water $2.75. I told him the last time we were here it was $1.75 but he still charged me $2.75. I GUESS THIS GUY EITHER NEVER HEARD OF CUSTOMER SERVICE OR DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT I WAS SAYING. HE NEVER SAID I'M SORRY FOR YOUR INCONVENIENCE OR ANYTHING LIKE HE JUST DID NOT GIVE A SHIT! HE HAD NEVER ASKED ME IF I EVER ENJOYED MY MEAL!
