I've been coming here for years. Never wrote a review . Should have. I'm never disappointed. I always get exactly what I want the way I want it-- from breakfast to lunch. Speaking of lunches I never knew they had this sandwich, my new favorite. Real sliced turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce and gravy if you want it. Delicious. The food is bland and my burger was undercooked. Barely any greeting at the door. The host (or owner, I don't know who) hardly looked up from his phone. That was a trend around here. My waitress was inattentive, off in the corner on her phone and ignoring tables. She hardly said two words to me and just dropped my food on the table. We are so thankful to have this neighborhood gem . They opened prior to the pandemic and hung in there through that time period serving takeout orders of which we took advantage of. They continue to provide a wide variety of options in a nicely decorated dining room . Seating options include counter seating, booth and tables inside as well as outside weather permitting . This little place packs a huge culinary punch! Chicken Souvlaki Platter is loaded with delicious chicken in a soft fresh pita with a Greek Salad strong enough to stand as a dish on its own. This platter would be plenty even without the fries, yet they're included too! Falafel platter & cheeseburger deluxe shine just as brightly. They clearly take pride in their food in terms of quality, freshness, presentation & balance. Service is excellent & friendly. Prices are very reasonable, especially in light of the great food. Located on Saw Mill River Road in Ardsley, Ardsley Diner seems to be THE spot on Friday nights for families or a hangout spot over classic diner items. I gauge an old-school diner by how they make their Vanilla Egg Cream. That's just me. Containing neither eggs nor cream, this sweet and frothy drink is made solely of chilled milk, seltzer and chocolate syrup (preferably in that order, although there are different schools of thought on preparation). Service was spotty. My mozzarella+sliced tomato grilled cheese was ok and hubs liked his burger. Hey...it's diner food. As much I breathe, dream and think Chocolate, when it comes to an egg cream, it's gotta be vanilla. But the odd/old tasting vanilla syrup in this one, lost points for me. May not be the best on the block in taste, but it was fizzy, frothy and had a good head. read more

I love it here! I love coming here during the week. It's less busy then. There's plenty of seating inside, at the counter and outside (when it's warmer out). It was a very pleasant dining experience at Ardsley diner. It's not a huge eatery but a v comfortable and clean venue. Portions for our orders were all quite sizeable. Service was exemplary: our waitress Ivette was so amendable, patient and accommodating; she made us feel at home. I had the breakfast bowl order: it was very healthy BUT I only wished there was some kind of carb like breakfast potatoe included with the order. I heard good things about this place, so having just recently moved here I decided to give it a try. I wound up walking in with family and decided to get eggs and a side of bacon. I usually enjoy good diner foods, so I knew that if I liked this place, I would be coming back. The inside is a simple, 50s esque diner with a bit of a modern refresh. Our server was nice, prompt and polite, so there really was no issue there. The issue for me arose when the bill came. In total our meal was $75.00. For eggs, pancakes, avocado toast and a wrap. I know that inflation has pushed up prices, but that seemed a bit excessive. However, that wasn't the worst aspect. What really bothered me may seem like the most mundane of issues, but it was an "operations fee". I apologize for ignorance, but I'm not familiar with what that is. I don't seem to understand how restaurants feel comfortable charging extra fees which aren't explicitly stated on their menu or posted at all. It's also a violation of NY state law to do so. I normally tip a generous amount to cover servers, but it's things like that which prevent me from wanting to frequent establishments like this. Another place that I drove by hundreds of times but never attended. Last Sunday, my cousin and I wanted to have breakfast at a diner, so I thought, let's try the Ardsley Diner. I definitely made the right decision, which means , I'll be eating here more often. It has a retro 60's feel to it, but the staff, the cooks , the customers and the food are stellar. My cousin is from New Jersey, and often says that New Jersey has the best diners. But he was delighted on the great taste of his omelette while I savored my corned beef hash and eggs. My family comes here often with our Nana and it's always a great time. We order to go from here too and there has never been time where we weren't completely satisfied. There is a diverse menu that can feed all types of picky eaters (I'm mostly vegetarian myself, so i usually order a falafel dish). Don't skip out on their pastry case! Went to have lunch there today with my elderly Mom. We ordered a hamburger and eggplant type wrap. I took a bite of the eggplant wrap and could not. The eggplant was completely not chewable. I pulled out that piece and tried again but the other piece of eggplant was the same. I make my own eggplant and it should never be like that. The person in the next table commented on the sandwich too. She had I should return it but I didn't want to as my Mom would not have eaten then. So I pulled the eggplant out and all the stale hard edged of the wrap (yes the wrap was old too) and just eat the very little thin mozzarella and peppers that was left. No one ever came over to the table see everything was ok. Only after my mom finished eating, the waitress finally came over. She went to quickly clear plate and I told wait, look at this, it is inedible. You cannot even bite through the eggplant, which I demonstrated that I could not even tear it with my hands. I told her I will pay for it but the kitchen should know. She rolled her eyes and just took the plate away making me feel like I did something wrong. Then after several minutes, she dropped the check without any word. The sandwich was removed which I then told them to put back on the bill. I paid for, I never asked for it to be removed nor did I ask for the attitude. They made me feel like I was a thief and at fault. For a $17 sandwich, it should be tripled checked that it is edible. I will never go back because of the terrible non-service and attitude. The diner which is normally really busy was not this day. I left a tip but honestly wish I hadn't. read more

We haven't been to Ardsley in decades and our visit reminded us why this was our favorite diner and why we drove from the Bronx to eat here.

My son was served fruit with mold on it and ate some before I saw. I complained to the waitress and they took off the price of the fruit (I obviously should not be charged for moldy fruit and they should have given more of a discount). Within an hour my son was vomiting. I called multiple times after to inform the staff with no answer. The kitchen staff should be checking quality before serving. read more

Don't bother asking for a table if you're dining solo. You'll just be asked "to wait a minute" while larger parties are seated in front of you. Then the hostess will randomly say "Follow me please" so you will walk halfway across the restaurant only to be told "this table is not for you" it's for yet another couple that walked while you were waiting. But the reviews for this place made the place sound amazing and I really wanted breakfast foods. When you go on, I think you have to seat yourself?? Because no one really greets you or say hello but we just waited there because there was a host counter right when we walked in. The host on the phone gave the menus to the waiters for them to seat us, but before seating us, stopped by every table before our table to ask if they wanted coffee and poured it. We waited a good time to finally sit down. We finally got the chance to order and the food was okay. BUT the home fries is what makes me give this place 3 stars because the he fries deserved 5. My eggs benedict though, wasn't that good. It was boring to say the least. My friend got the omelette which he said was okay as well. Decided to check this diner out while getting my car serviced down the street. Ordered the monte cristo and it had 2lbs of dried meat, thick egg soggy French toast that was never pressed down to panini style. My order was supposed to come with coleslaw and a pickle and apparently as a 18 dollar sandwich I also get no fries. So I asked the waiter hey isn't this supposed to come with it? He goes do u want it? Didn't think you would want it? What?! It says it on the menu that it comes with it. Either own up if you forgot it or just say I'm sorry it will be right out n bring it out. He than sees me struggling to eat the sandwich where I took the French toast bread off of the sandwich and was eating the cold cuts separately while trying to dip it in mayo to give it some sort of moisture and flavor. I moved my French toast to a separate plate and the only thing I had to pour on top of it was GMO high fructose corn syrup based formally known as aunt Jemima. When you're in an expensive town with a higher tax bracket and you're charging $18 for a sandwich and no fries or expensive pancakes and French toast you should be giving maple syrup. it was completely un-edible. The bread was completely soggy was eggy. It had no flavor, and I was just disgusted. At that point I pushed my food away. The Busser came over and I let them know that sorry I tried my best to eat the food I really did not enjoy it. There was a huge amount of food on my plate and all the Busser could say was I'm not your server but I'll tell the guy when he comes back. I see him pull the guy and they're laughing about it and then nobody comes over to my table. The server is ignoring me the entire time And then drops off the check and not even a manager comes over to ask me what happened after I saw the server explain the situation to him. Great spot for all varieties of food!I ordered takeout here and they didn't disappoint- I got a simple order of the beef hotdogs w sauerkraut and sweet potato fries, and my boyfriend got the Philly cheesesteak. The hot dogs were delicious, and topped with a mountain of sauerkraut- the sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection, and the cheesesteak prob could've fed a family of four it was so hefty!! I looked over their menu and it seems like they have a little bit of everything whether you're in the mood for Mexican or Greek, their menu is very diverse, and of course you can get a simple order of hotdogs if you're not feeling so daring, LOL. I like this diner. It's cute and their menu is creative. They offer more than just basic breakfast and lunch. They have red velvet pancakes, banana crunch pancakes, s'mores pancakes and many more. My boyfriend and I ended up ordered and sharing the s'mores pancakes and the Tex mex wrap with the avocado on the side. The wrap was great! Really tasty with the fries that came with it. We loved it. The pancakes were okay. They weren't bad, but they weren't amazing either. They were just okay. The service was also okay. A little weird to be honest. Our server seemed out of it? But he was kind, I guess. It was just okay. What we loved most about this place was the decoration and how it looked like a classic diner that you see in the movies.
