I opted for the cheeseburger with Onion Rings instead of the Fries. Perfectly cooked, generously portioned patty presented on the plate with the fixings and the rings. I managed to take the picture before devouring all the rings (I downed several before "the shoot", sorry!). Much better and more generous portioned patty compared to other area diners' offerings. In all the years I've lived near here I've never once had an issue with the diner. Always a warm welcome and good food with plenty of coffee. Melted cheese between two pieces of toasted golden bread. Genius. That's how I kept it simple with a Mozzarella+tomato grilled cheese- which Dobbs Diner got it just right with an incredible cheese pull. My vanilla egg cream was ok- wished it had another splash of vanilla to make it perfect. For a diner, hubs liked his Cheeseburger. Though the parking is a bit tricky, we entered and were seated in one of their comfy booths. The menu is very extensive but my friend and I both chose to order an omelet (Florentine and Greek, respectively). The waiters made sure to refill our coffees and water frequently. My husband and I went to Dobbs Diner today Saturday, March 11, 2023. It was my first time going there to eat. My husband has been there on a number of occasions like going there while he was on his lunch break or going there by himself to get breakfast. l really really enjoyed my breakfast I ordered a Florentine Omelette it came with the home fries and I asked for an English muffin. My husband had 2 fried eggs with sausage and fruit and a smoothie to drink. He also enjoyed his breakfast!!!! Coffee_ Excellent also I was asked if I wanted a refill. I always say that if the coffee is good it makes you want to stay awhile and enjoy especially taking that first sip. Florentine Omelette_ Excellent as I took the first bite I knew that I would enjoy eating and every other bite after I LOVE LOVE OMELETTES!!!! It was so good with the spinach and feta cheese. I also had one of my husband's sausage that was very good also. Home fries were very good also I just had to ask for ketchup to put on them with pepper and salt then I was good to go I took the first bite and then the next thing before a blink of an eye I finished every bit of my home fries that's how you know that they were good. English muffin was also good once I put the butter on them no complaints here. Waitress was very good in taking our orders and bringing us our food asking if we needed anything else and also asking if I needed a refill of my coffee. Also try guys that bring you the water he was very nice he also asked me if I needed a refill I say yes and he refilled it for me. I definitely needed my coffee. Definitely would go to Dobbs Diner again!!! It's small on the inside but worth every bite. A nice family Greek American diner in Dobbs ferry that serves good typical diner type breakfast, lunch and dinner in a old school diner interior , from the counter seating to the many booths and tables . Friendly staff and extensive menu means that if you can't find anything to order then you are a real pain in the butt. It's breakfast time and the scrambled egg whites with turkey sausage and a side of pancakes is a good pick . Good size portions and prices are reasonable , food got to our booth in less then 10 minutes and overall the food is good . The food was great. My big issue is that I'm traveling with an autistic child who will ONLY eat pepperoni pizza and it has to be from a certain company. He will only drink root beer, and it has to be from his special cup. I asked if they have root beer, was told no. I wanted to get a bottle from the gas station next door, and the server said "no outside items." And we can't bring in his pizza. So they refused to accommodate an 8yo special needs child. When we first move to Dobbs 10 years ago the diner was better. Lately the food has taken a serious dive. The burger patties are dry, the fries taste like they have been fried multiple times, the shredded lettuce on my gyro was brown and old. My family and I have been coming here ever since we moved to Dobbs in 1993. The staff are always so welcoming and the food is always delicious. I highly recommend the gyro $13, broiled salmon $22, Greek salad $11, and cheeseburger deluxe $12 for either lunch or dinner. My favorite breakfast meals are the "Dobbs Deluxe" which includes 2 Pancakes, 2 Eggs, 2 Sausages & 2 Strips Of Bacon- all for $11 and "The Hasher" which is eggs Benedict with corned beef hash $12. I had a cheddar cheese omelet with coffee, which was excellent. The others in my party had eggs over easy and a BLT. They were all happy with their meals. So far I've both experienced disappointments and made exciting discoveries. Regarding the former: the penne alla vodka lacks any vodka flavor and doesn't contain prosciutto -- unlike advertised; the prosciutto panini was extremely salty and didn't have fresh mozzarella, which would have been more appropriate in elevating the dish above cafeteria quality. Dobbs Din er is an ok diner by NY standards, but most NY diners I rarely give less than 4 stars. Located in Dobbs Ferry, the quaint little diner is what you think of when being in NY and sitting at a table eating a hearty breakfast while it pours outside! The eggs were cooked soft scrambles like I ordered, the potato hash browns were cooked pretty crispy like I asked, but the sausage was just...meh! The coffee was lacking a good quality flavor, and the toast was less than desirable. My husband and I came for lunch and the tall skinny waitress was rude and had a very bad attitude. She came to our table without greeting us and curtly asked if we were ready to order. After ordering, she brought me the wrong omelette and I decided to keep it without addressing it. There was something else wrong with my order but again I decided not to mention it. Clearly she was not listening when we ordered. My husband and I noticed that she was very friendly with only white patrons, so we felt her lack of friendliness was a race issue. My coffee was cold, and when I tried to get her attention she looked at me and purposely ignored me. After waving my hand at her, I watched her ask another white patron if they needed anything. When she finally came over, I asked for another cup of coffee since the one I had was cold. She walked away without saying a word and finally brought another cup of coffee. She snatched the cold cup of coffee and walked away with an attitude. She brought the check right after that without asking if we wanted anything else. About two minutes later, she comes to the table for payment and my husband handed her his credit card. I told him that we're supposed to pay in front and that I wanted to address her attitude with management. She came back saying we forgot to sign the receipt. After she noticed there was no tip on the receipt due to the horrible service, she scoffs & sneers while walking to the front cashier. At that point, I followed her and asked if she had something to say. She looked back with a surprise look on her face and said nothing. I said "You have a very bad attitude and are very rude. I'm also writing a review about this on Yelp." I said all this to her in front of the manager sitting by the front door and they both said nothing. If he were a good manager, he would have asked what the problem was but he didn't. We felt very discriminated against at this diner. read more

The older waitress is terrible, one time while i was ordering i didn't want cheese and she acted like it was such an issue and inconvenience. The next time I came here i was just hoping for another waitress and i got her again and this time i ordered my drink and she brought out my food so i'm assuming she forgot about my drink that i politely asked about and she rolled her eyes and said it'll be out soon. About ten minutes passed and she was nowhere in sight, so i asked another waiter there and he brought it right out, we were about the only people in the diner i doubt there was a reason for it to take 30 minutes to get some water. I love coming here with my family. My dad and sister are regulars, and it's for a great reason. Out of the options in the Tarrytown/Dobbs ferry area, this is our favorite morning breakfast diner. The service is amazing - they know my family's names, they are VERY attentive with coffee, and extremely accommodating for someone with food sensitivities. The food is also delicious! And, surprisingly, the prices are much more reasonable than other morning diners. Would definitely recommend! The only draw back is the bathrooms, they are one stall each gender. Not enough.
