Came here for brunch and this place has definitely changed since the last time I visited years ago. We were greeted and seated right away, and within minutes our server Adelfo came over. He was funny, friendly, and super personable. We ended up chatting about our kids and he made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. He mentioned the entire place was recently renovated, including the kitchen, and it shows. The space is clean, bright, and even smells new. The concept is pretty unique. The restaurant is split down the middle with IHOP on one side and Applebee's on the other, but now it operates as one combined menu. You can order anything from either side no matter where you sit. Breakfast all day, even at the bar, which is a fun twist. We started with the Ultimate Appetizer Trio with mozzarella sticks, chicken quesadillas, and chicken wontons. You get to pick three sauces, which is a great touch. The mozzarella sticks and quesadillas were very good, especially paired with the sauces. The chicken wontons missed for me. The Sweet Asian chile sauce and coleslaw did not work and the chicken texture was mushy. For drinks, I tried an Irish coffee since the espresso machine was down. It was not great. Very light on whiskey and came off watery with no real creaminess. The hot chocolate was just okay. The Bourbon Street Steak had good flavor, but the cut is now top sirloin instead of ribeye and it shows. Still enjoyable, but not as strong as it used to be. The fries that came with it were solid. The highlight for me was the Ultimate Breakfast Burger. It had a lot going on with a beef patty, hash browns, American cheese, bacon, a fried egg, and poblano hollandaise on a brioche bun. I swapped the egg to fried hard. Messy, falling apart, but somehow it all worked and tasted great. I also took advantage of the 2 for $25 deal with some upgrades and tried the 3 Cheese Chicken Penne and the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp. Both were good and added even more value to the visit. Overall, this was a great experience. Strong service, a clean and updated space, and a fun concept that gives you the best of both worlds with grill, bar, and breakfast all in one place. I would definitely come back and try more items like the O M Cheese burger, quesadilla burger, bacon cheddar chicken sandwich, loaded buffalo chicken omelette, brownie bite, and the sizzling butter pecan blondie. read more

Well I was SO DISAPPOINTED. The chicken had such a strange texture to it. Was it chicken or some kind of make believe chicken. And the SALT on the food was too much. The sides were good. With all the iconic sports jerseys and wall images of yesteryear- whether fake or at one point real(?), Applebee's gives off 'Waiting...' decor- without the kitchen pranks. We had plans to pick up fried fish from a Dominican spot in Elmsford- but after seeing their lot full, we changed course and came here. Plus, this would put us on our path afterwards to head up north anyway. I hadn't been in an Applebee's in eons- so I had no idea what to order. Plus the last time I was in one, was when I ate poultry and would munch on buffalo wings til there was no tomorrow. This space is like all others- spacious. The large-size booths, high-top seating and the telltale sign of them all- the bar area with TVs in every angle- where everyone hangs out for hours or leave after a quick drink. I personally felt this Applebee's was welcoming. The host did his job and our server Katelin(sp?) was attentive on an early Thursday afternoon. My Cajun-styled salmon+my choice of extra veggies as I ditched the mashed p. was very nice. The string beans were garlicky+buttery but the broccoli needed the same seasoning to make them pop. Hubs also enjoyed his grilled chicken breast+the same veggies to the fullest. Our non-alcohol drinks were great on a humid day. Even with the few Pescatarian dishes- I'm digging it. Visited this location and ordered the boneless chicken which was very good by the way. I also ordered a different rum bucket today which was horrible tasting and I didn't have the bucket filled To capacity because I didn't want the shenanigans with the whole bucket filled with ice and No drink. The bucket drink was terrible at best. I did order the perfect patron Margarita which is always my go to drink and that did not disappoint. The end. Came in tonight with my parents, had to sit at the bar because our favorite human was there, Tonyyyyyyyy everybody! :) sweet human, he's always on top of our orders. Drinks AMAZINGGGG, anything he makes i'm sold. His drinks always hit!!! I always get the cheeseburger, no bacon. I'm a big burger girlie & it's my go to, it's always so juicy, fries are seasoned so well. He put the game on, it's football season. Monday night football, best place to be when the games are on!! So as most millennials, I spent much of my high school weekends at Applebee's after 10 pm with my friends for the half price appetizer deal. I know you know what I'm talking about and I know you were all about it. As I grew up and developed mature taste buds and a wallet with money in it not from dad, Applebees became the last resort chain restaurant fallback for meet ups. This particular Applebees makes most of the rest of them look good. It's located in the middle of nowhere in Hawthorne in one of those abandoned business park areas. They randomly have an outdoor garden seating area in the summer in the parking lot (yep) which I've never frequented but looks pretty if you ignore the parking lot backdrop thing. The decor is your standard Applebee's with their "local" kitschy thing. It's all the same and it hasn't changed in twenty years. It even still has that wall-to-wall green carpeting. And it continues to be oddly comforting on some level? The food is pretty bad. Like laughably so. I don't even know what to tell you to order here. It's all bad and, if it's passable, that's a solid win. And the menu prices are all over the place, with single items being quite expensive and combo items such as You Pick Two sort of things being only a couple dollars more. But they do have a bunch of TVs if you want to watch sports and good app and HH deals - so if you're a local or in the area running errands (see Home Depot down the street), it's not the worst place to stop in, especially because there's not much else for sports bars in this area. They also have weeknight specials such as Steak Night and Kids Eat Free Night which I think are unique to this location and a good deal. 2.5 if I could but rounding down since the food really is atrocious. read more

We were gifted a gift card for Applebees so found one close to us so we could use it. We got there around 11:45 and were seated right away. We ordered the 2 for $35 which came with an appetizer and 2 full sized entrees. Their menu prices were pretty expensive so this seemed like a good deal. We got the boneless wings with sweet Asian chili sauce and ranch on the side. They were really good. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries and my bf got the sirloin steak (medium) with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Mine was really good but my bfs was not great at first. His steak was really unevenly cooked and parts were well done while others were rare and the mashed potatoes were cold. We had to track someone down to mention this to them because no one came by and they did correct it. On the second attempt it was much better! Overall I'm glad they corrected it but it took forever. read more

Geez it's been a long time since I been to Hawthorne as the area especially at night always seem desolation horror movie scene to me . Ok it's a visit to the area Applebee's and place is perfect for a typical American menu bite . Plenty of booths , tables and large bar area with plenty of TVs all around showing sports . Place is clean and bright , service is fast and steady and the Applebee's menu is typical boring and that's ok for a quick bite or longer if your watching the games but maybe adding sliders and pot stickers dumplings would be nice . Ok chicken wonton tacos and mozzarella sticks is good enough and no dessert as the dessert menu definitely needs a upgrade makeover . I took my family to Applebee's for Mother's Day breakfast. It is served from 9 to 12 in Hawthorne, New York . You have to check not every Applebee's is serving breakfast. Today they were giving 1 free glasses of champagne to the mothers. It was very good service. Music is playing. I would definitely go back again . The food taste great. Plenty of parking. We went to Applebee's yesterday. We used to come here with our kids when they were toddlers. It's perfect if you have very young kids because the noise level accommodates it without a problem. The service is quite good. The food quality is really not good at all. The food was dry and tasteless. I ordered the riblets and it came with fries. The riblets were mostly dried pieces of meat smothered with sauce. There were broken bone fragments I had to keep picking out as I was chewing--not a good experience. They advertised a $6 drink which was a huge glass of frozen colored sugar water. Spinach and artichoke dip was really bad. It tasted old and reheated several times over. It just reminds me of why eating at locally owned restaurants are a better way to go. read more

Our hotel was located in the parking lot next to Applebees. We had just finished an evening tour of the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and needed to grab a super late dinner. It was around 10pm on a Saturday and we ordered take out on their website. We were sent a text and our order was brought out right on time. Everything was hot and made just as we ordered it. Nothing was missing. They included ketchup, mayo and mustard in our to go bag, which was nice. We're not normally chain restaurant people, but it was late, they were opened and accepting orders and were right next to our hotel. We were not disappointed. read more

I was hungry and the options in this area seemed grim. I only saw a diner, this place, and a gas station. I came here because of the 50 cent mozzarella sticks promotion. I did the math and it would be the same price as a fast food meal with taxes and tip. I ordered water and 10 mozzarella sticks and my server was clearly not thrilled with my order. She was a lot friendlier to other diners so I could tell she has issues with me and wanted me to know it. My order arrived and I got 8 mozzarella sticks. I waved the man who brought them over and instead of apologizing and correcting it, he gave me a big speech about how he had two plates for two customers and gave me the wrong one. So he wants me to be understanding of his incompetence? He gave me the two mozzarella sticks with a forced apology and those two were cold and undercooked. My server made me wait 20 minutes for my check and the place was not crowded. Usually servers say thank you when they give me the check, she did not. I gave her a $3.00 tip which percentage wise is huge. Yes I know they care more about the dollar amount than the percent. I get it because the dollar amount pays the bills, but it was close to what she would have received if I ordered a full price appetizer for my lunch. I really wanted to give her the 20% for a $1.00 given her attitude but I felt bad. When I was driving away, I saw a fast food place literally a short distance away. If only I was a little more patient, I could have gone there. I gave 2 stars because I got what I paid for. read more

This place needs some drastic changes. However, I feel like there is not much competition around the area, that this restaurant will still flourish. They are overpriced for the food that they sell. I'm not sure why many restaurants around Westchester area is so overly expensive for the quality of food that they sell. I had a basic hamburger to see how their food was, but it was oily and buns were just drenched and soggy. Their 5 wings for a dollar was worth probably less than a dollar. I was surprised to see how packed this place was because the food was not great. The only compliment I can give is to my server Sheila. She was great! read more

I have been an apple bees fanatic for YEARS. Every time I go I always enjoy myself and my meal. However, the last time I went I had a terrible experience. Upon being seated we were given appetizer plates that were rather crusty. However, that was NOT the worst part of my time spent at this establishment. This was one of the worst experiences I ever had. First, our "Applebee's First Impression" hostess was acting incredibly rude and wasn't trying to accomadate our party of 9 consumers even though we were all there and there was available tables/booths that were capable of fitting us. After waiting for over 20 minutes during an uncrowded time, we were placed in a booth by the bar. The booth was BARELY enough to fit all the members, dirty, and uncomfortable throughout the entire duration. NOW, to the nail that drew the coffin in, the service/waiter that we received during this night was horrendous. Imagine, a restaurant that is popularized by its wacky menu items and cheap drinks, to be disrespected by our server making us do everything ourselves, pay, place our orders in the tablet and etc. The server's name (and i cannot stress this enough) is Javian. He was a tall, skinny man with facial hair and a caramel complexion. He had an attitude the whole time we were ordering and deciding what to order. I had him as our server previously and he wasn't willing to accept our gift cards that time and pulled a whole situation out of his a** with the manager and ultimately, the manager helped us and apologized for his rudeness. Even as we are sitting, the server has not returned and our current payment terminal has had to be replaced twice. I ordered car side pick up from the Hawthorne NY location and my food came out 45 minutes later. There were a few people in the waiting room who waited for their food for almost an hour. In this pandemic times, I want to support the restaurants but I don't want to eat indoor so I order take out either curbside/car side pick up or to go takeout orders BUT it discourages me that the restaurants like this Applebee's are not honoring their promise for the food to be there on time and in this case, food is not even ready to be picked up an hour later for some people. It is clearly a case of poor operational planning. This discourages a lot of people to support restaurants. Also they made a mistake on my order. I'm writing this review a day after my visit. It was late last night. My order was two cups of coffee, onion rings for the appetizer, and two dishes from the 2 x $20 menu. Grilled chicken and chicken fingers with french fries. The rings were almost burnt. And the chicken fingers were also breaded and closed to burnt. Both horrible. I didn't expect much because of the ratings and reputation of Applebee's. Could it be worse than a generic diner, or a Friendly's at it's worst? I didn't think so, but I was very wrong. It started by waiting for 5 minutes at the front with nobody to sit me. Then, waiting for my friend, it took about 15 minutes to even be noticed. No cutlery, plates or napkins, until the server noticed me with two menus, putting two cocktail napkins down. I asked her to come back when my friend arrived. After arriving late and sitting by my side, the server, who was pleasant and quickly walking from her tables asked us if we'd like to start with a drink. We chose the $1 special Long Island Iced Teas. They arrived pretty quickly and were as expected. Loaded with sugary syrup, maybe a little white rum as advertised, but undrinkable. To be fair, we typically like French Martini's, Cosmo's and other vodka based mixed drinks and not syrup laden sweet cocktails. Fair enough. They were a $1. We reviewed the menu filled with over 1,000 calorie mains, similarly fried, cheese laden and other high calorie appetizers and burgers and decided on a Thai salad with shrimp and a two item main including a half rack of ribs and grilled shrimp with broccoli and onion rings for me. Honestly, the ribs were hard, cool and hard to split with a knife. I ate them with the consistency similar to jerky from Jack Links, the broccoli being bland and steamed to somewhat edible and the onion rings being well done and crunchy like the frozen onion rings that they are. The shrimps were decent although a little under-cooked, so thankfully it wasn't a total abomination. We both remarked how moderately sized the portions were, which generally would be a nice surprise since so many restaurants pile the food high expecting their clients to want to eat food like it was from a trough. Indeed, my friends salad was the size of a side salad, featuring the same shrimps I had (5) and a low plate of some Chinese noodles, iceberg lettuce with some julienne carrots, cabbage and some other greens that you would get in a ready to make salad at the grocery store, but about 1/4 of even that bag. So yes, this too was very surprisingly poor, even for what we expected. Most shockingly, however, was the pricing on these "meals". The two item combo that I had cost $22! The salad (I hesitate to call it that) was $16! Now, I would believe that Applebee's is still open because they might offer marginal to poor food at excellent prices, but when I can have excellent food at any number of restaurants for the same or less cost, I am shocked that Applebee's is still open, franchise or corporate store, it wouldn't matter. Just as shocking, is how any cook (do they call themselves chef's) would even let that walk out of the kitchen. The desert we had was a loaded with synthetic syrup mini bundt cake and a scoop of generic vanilla ice cream. That was decent if you can deal with super sweet chocolate syrup, but didn't do much to improve the food experience. With tip, the cost was $60 and indeed, an abomination if you consider Applebee's desire to paint themselves as a family friendly, good comfort food establishment. Sadly, the staff, who were very friendly and trying to give us what we wanted, are working in a restaurant that serves awful food. We didn't want to punish them for the sub-standard food. We didn't complain or send the food back since we figured, why bother. In this case, we simply will never go back to Applebee's and certainly remain convinced that it will be one of many anomalies that serves sub-standard (I hesitate to call it food) food, with poorly contrived promotional drinks (and that is likely where they make their money, selling mixed drinks and alcohol, based upon their prominent horseshoe structured bar), uncomfortable benches and a need for some cleaning. To top things off, the combination of heavy sugar in the cocktail and desert combined with the "BBQ sauce" if you can call it that on the hard, dry half rack of baby back ribs and fried onion rings caused me to get a form of food poisoning (maybe from the shrimps that were under-cooked). I'm still quite dizzy and nauseous as I'm writing this, but I had to warn anyone who thinks; "how bad can it be?". read more

Today we ordered a meal through Uber eats. We received a salad with no dressing at all. My husband called the restaurant and explained the situation and the manager apologized up and down. The manager, Jose, then had a brand new salad made with the dressing and personally delivered the fresh salad to us. His customer service was above and beyond any and all expectations. It's Applebee's, a large chain with the same menu. So food-wise, you know what you are going to get. It doesn't wow you, but it's not disappointing. What you are familiar with in Ohio is what you'll get in New York, Baltimore, Louisiana, and so on. The menu variety is pretty good. I can always find something I like. Applebee's is also bringing on some healthier options as well. Thanks for that. Flavor-wise, it's always pretty decent. Service is where some franchises tend to differentiate themselves. This location was pretty so-so on my visit. Maybe it was because we stopped in later at night but it took awhile to get seated. Once we did, we felt like we were an inconvenience to the wait staff's social time. No one was outright rude or anything like that, it's just the wait between steps seemed exceptionally long. And the place was fairly empty, so yes, we could hear the conversations. If I'm in the area, I might stop back at this location. I might not. But I will check with the locals first to see if service has improved. read more
