This company is disorganized at best. Our water heater leaked into our living room buckling the floorboards. Exact Leak Detection dropped off a temporary water heater in our garage. The restoration company let them in. No paperwork was given, no instructions, nothing signed. We were not home. The temporary water heater sat in our garage for a month after the job was completed until we called for them to pick it up. Mind you we had no paperwork we signed and no instructions for return. We get a bill from their collections department over a month later for late fees which our insurance company covered, sending us the check to pay them. I was indignant that my insurance company pay anything in late fees considering Exact Leak Detection gave us no paperwork and no instructions on pickup or late fees. If I could give a 0 star I would. Don't let the name exact fool you. It's more like "not exact". For about 2 months they were pinpointing different locations for the leak we had. They could not find it. They then tried to epoxy repair the pipe hoping that the epoxy will just travel to the location and fix it. They failed multiple times. I then hired a plumber finally and the guy found the leak in about 10 minutes. It was nowhere near any of the locations exact leak detection had indicated. Of course after a failed epoxy repair the pipe cannot be properly repaired and the line needs to be abandoned and a new line is needed. They will not tell you this up front. To top the complete incompetence on the field I ran into the same thing with the office people as well. Communication was unacceptable, though they claim they thrive for an excellent customer service. Just like politicians, they say what you wanna hear but their actions speak louder. I highly recommend, let me emphasize it again HIGHLY RECOMMEND you think twice about hiring them, or if your insurance company brings them up you might want to consider asking them to send another company out. They have plenty of companies on their approved vendor list. Let my terrible experience with them save you from all the stress, headache and the beyond unacceptable customer service. read more

Totally dissatisfied! I'm handicapped and they waited until Friday. They said they would have it done. Two young guys came. Didn't know what they were doing. Tore my walls apart and left me without hot water for a few days until the other guy was available! Then when they came back they butchered my ceiling making it very difficult to repair. In fact, I've had to have it repaired three times after they left. I think because I complained they did a very sloppy job and zigzagged cut all my ceiling throughout my entire house! So let me tell you how/why first review was written. So this company is a AAA recommended company and they were sent to me by AAA my insurer. So the guys get here and go upstairs to look at the issue, they come back down stairs and tell me it's my shower valve. They say they can take care of that for for $975, then say because I'm with AAA I get a discount and it's $875. Well after telling them this is highway robbery they dropped price to $675. Well I asked @so you opened the wall up to discover this?" Their answer was no, we are going to do that now. So they go up, open wall and discover it's a hole in an elbow in copper pipe. Come down and tell me good news not the valve and they can fix this for $575, but then said I'm with AAA and can do for $475, but if I do a yelp review they will do for $375, hence the the first review. So we get it fixed. Later that night I go shower and my valve was put back together wrong, pictures attached. So I'll fix that myself. Well that was all on Sunday, on Wednesday they call asking about payment and telling us they can come replace my water pressure valve, (which I think they broke when fiddling with it.) I explained to her we have them a check the day they did the work and followed up by telling the office the rest of this story and how poorly they conduct there business, so be weary of this company. I don't think they know what they are doing. First and foremost these "LEAK DETECTION" companies are RIP OFF ARTIST! This is the second one I've dealt with in 10 years. Recently EXACT came by as a insurance coverage (I thought) but AAA CLUB said not covered after the EXACT SCAMMERS came by. No damage just leaked ($300 a month leak) in the garage, so no per se actual damage so they would only (found out 3 days later) cover carpet, flooring and structural damage? So on Thursday EXACT did the detection and the next day I get a call from a chola girl. She said: " We can come on this Saturday and do the job?" I said to chola, " I don't know if my insurance will be covered?" Chola says,"Don't worry you only have to pay half." I said, " what's HALF?" She said, don't worry half is $2,500 and AAA (auto club) will pay $2,500. I said,"What, $5,000!" I said, I'll wait until I hear from AAA club. Good thing because I'd be stuck with the $5,000 BILL! Fast forward my cousin helped me do the job it wasn't hard leak to fix a connection under the water heater was leaking and we "REROUTED" the leaking pipe and after less than $400 in parts and labor and lunch every day for my cousin and his gas. On the receipt for the repair it said "REROUTE PIPE and DRYWALL." Garage is drywalled. These people are scammers. They prey on people especially SENIORS like myself. Don't trust these SCAMMERS! The first company 10 years ago for another leak, gave me a quote of $14,000 Estimate and I said I got another estimate for 12 the guy says we can do it for $9,000? I said $1,200 dollars not $12,000! AAA homeowners insurance sent Exact to help with water leaks. It turns out the copper pipes had pinhole leaks that damaged the bathroom and office. After two repairs to the same pipe, it still had a pinhole leak. Insurance only covers damages by the leak not the actual repairs to the pipes. I have to pay out of pocket for repairs and they are pricey. I had already paid twice for repairs to the same pipe because they kept saying the pinhole leak was in a different area. It just seemed to move up and down the same pipe. When it was still leaking after the last repair, that was the last straw. I contacted them to let them know there was still water coming down the pipe they just repaired. They sent out Eugene C and Michael M to inspect the work. They were my heroes. Not only did they replace and repair the pipe for free, they also did a thorough inspection. They knew what they were doing. Not only were they professional, kind, they listened to my concerns and answered all my questions.
