Did you know that 80% of the people who wear bras wear the wrong size? The woman who helped me and sized me and found me the perfect size and style, Diana, is AMAZING! I had no idea how off my size was and she fitted me with the proper size. When I tell you I felt like a new woman, I am not exaggerating. My tops looked instantly better, I got almost an inch of lift, and my posture was much better. It was a total game changer, and now I will be going every year to get sized and to purchase bras there. The prices for the bras are a bit $, but they are worth it. I will no longer buy cheap, ill-fitting bras after this experience. Diana was saying it is a good idea to get fit each year because your size can change over the years. She mentioned a year is a good rule of thumb because bras will start to wear as you wear them and wash them. She gave me proper instructions for washing and care. On this visit, Heather took care of me- she had at least 10 inches on me - so a completely different body style. She put together at least 5 full ensembles for me to try - everything appropriate for my event and for my body type . She encouraged me to try new things, mix of colors and styles, jewelry - and every outfit was spot on - very stylish and got me out of my comfort frumpy zone. The sales section is large, a whole back room, but no matter what day I come, it appears picked over and anemic. The sizes tend to be heavy on the XL and the XS, with not much variety in the middle. The staff are distant, but generally non-offensive. My boyfriend, however, experienced a unreasonably poor service moment last Saturday. A sales woman told him that J Crew was having a "private sale" event that would guarantee him 75% off summer suits, if he opened a J Crew credit card. Boyfriend, not needing a suit but enticed by such a fantastic deal, tried on, and subsequently fell in love with a linen, navy suit. He confirmed with the sales lady again that it would be 75% off. When said boyfriend attempted to purchase the suit - he was rudely rebuffed by the cashier/manager. Boyfriend explained that he confirmed the deal with the the sales woman, but cashier behaved as though my boyfriend was trying to pull a fast one. He did not call over the cashier, and he scolded my boyfriend for believing such a sale would ever exist. Needless to say, no suit was purchased. Pro tip: generally credit card offer deals gain you about 30% off purchase, so if offered more, ask to speak to a manager before you become emotionally connected to the garment in question. Fluky Saturday aside, this store generally is pretty good. J Crew seems to be having a ton more sales recently, ever since their stock listing price plummeted, and their clothes have gotten a lot more adventurous and bohemian in recent months. The purse section was also pretty well stocked though I think you'll find more of a variety at Burlington with better price points. The remainder of the store had similar offerings that the other various Tj Maxx's have in the region just slightly more upscale with no sparse shelves or racks. So overall worth a stop, but slightly lower your expectations if you were specifically coming in for Runway and only Runway.
