I work…read morein hospitality and understand that dealing with customers can be extremely difficult, but the girls there were flat out rude and unhelpful no matter how polite my friends and I tried to be. While trying to pick an outfit, we were told multiple times that the store was closing and to get in line, up to 25 minutes before the store actually closed. When I asked if I could buy the last of a dress in the store which was on a mannequin, I was told they couldn't do it while just 2 people were working and to come back in 2 hours when there were more employees on the floor. When I did come back, it was still just the 2 of them, and it only took a minute for one girl to get the dress down. The store wasn't busy either time, and it felt like they didn't want to do their jobs. Also, there's a ridiculous policy that certain "special occasion" items are non-returnable (they're marked with tags), which in normal times might make sense, but the dressing rooms are currently closed due to COVID (which also doesn't make sense scientifically, considering it's an airborne disease). The idea that anyone is supposed to drop $40-$80 on something they can't try on in the store, and then can't return if it doesn't look good on them (which is especially important if it is for a "special occasion") is absolutely absurd. This does not make any sense, and the employees not only lack understanding to how ridiculous it is, but are rude about it too. The girl at the register also told me that jewelry is non returnable, which it doesn't say anywhere in the store, and also does not make sense. I love the clothes here but these were 2 of the most stressful shopping experiences I've ever had. Fix the attitudes and ridiculous rules.

In short, I love them love them love them, and am super excited I can get them at this shop in the Natick mall. Madewell stores are few and far-between, so seizing the opportunity to actually see, feel and try things on before purchasing rather than wait for UPS to deliver them is ideal. They also make great shoes, belts and accessories, not to mention tops and dresses. The sales girls were fun and sweet and not the least bit pushy, and they seemed to genuinely enjoy themselves whilst putting together the perfect outfit. Love.

Now, with that said, I enjoy shopping in a store with great customer service... greeting without being overwhelmed with a pushy sales associate.... but I find the staff here is very focused on "the purchasing customers." I was looking for a particular item... no one even tried to locate the pants ... no one offered me a dressing room with an arm full of items I had to ask. I love Chico's clothes and have a closet full of fabulous outfits that will last for years. The classic style or even the trending items will last forever. I just found that this store isn't what is considered Chico's standard of customer service.
