You pay 50$ with barely any time to relax and it feels like they are rushing to do as many turn overs as possible. I also went there to get my shellac nails removed and once again was rushed leaving stuff all over my nails. Very poorly done. My mother had the exact same issue where she was barely in there for half an hour and it felt rushed to her as well When getting a full pedicure. if you are paying 50$ you want to enjoy it, get a decent rub and know they took time to do your nails without missing anything.

After trying a couple of other places where they were less than stellar, I guess I should make an effort to travel back to New West to have my pedicure. Since it is in the same plaza as IT Char burger, I can kill two birds with one stone. Pedicure and burger. Winning combination. Friendly staff and reasonable prices (thankfully no increase). I called on a weekday and with short notice was able to get an appointment for a pedicure($35). Upon arrival I changed my mind to get both a mani and pedi ($55) which they were happy to accommodate. It's a nicely laid out salon, airy and clean with plenty of room to accommodate customers and was fairly quiet during my visit. I took a seat in one of their massage chairs and was offered a drink as the pedi service began. I enjoyed the experience and left thoroughly relaxed. They did a good job with my nails though some areas could use improvement (better shaping for instance). Overall, a good experience here and I would definitely recommend for a nice ambiance, friendly service and good value for money.

I happened to be going to Guildford Mall and decided to get my nails done beforehand. Yelp reviewers were right about this place -- clean, nice job, friendly staff, and prices were very comparable to other nail salons! The owner, Lana, was there and was super friendly. I had to wait about 10 minutes (as I did not have an appointment), but I didn't mind as I was not in a rush and it gave me time to look for my nail polish colour. She also offered me some tea or water while waiting, which I declined since I wasn't thirsty at the time. The girl who did my manicure, Noewa, did an excellent job and didn't rush at all. During my manicure, Lana came back to ask if I wanted tea or water this time, and I happily took a cup of tea, which was so nice! Just before my nails were done, I overheard Lana ask Noewa (in a motherly way) if she had taken a break and to get something to eat. If you ask me, that's a nice boss to have, making sure her staff gets the proper treatment! I'm not sure if these 2 ladies were related, but it was still a nice thing for Lana to do. To top it off, they have a stamp/loyalty card, which gives you $5 off after your 5th and 10th visit. This is the only nail salon I've been to that has a stamp card on top of their usual discounts/deals during the week. I will definitely be coming back!!

After Nancy confirmed my appointment she harshly said, "and don't be late otherwise I won't be able to see you until 1:30 ". Her comment stunned me because I had not been late in many months. Over the years I thought Nancy did not like me because no matter how much I said hello, tried to make conversation and gave good tips she was very serious, hardly acknowledged me when I came in she never wished me a nice day or thanked me for a tip. She shows no basic customer service in politeness. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt because I did like how my nails were done, but yesterday I read through other reviews where others were treated rudely by Nancy. Other customers also said Smile Nail employees would call them if they are even 1 minute late for their appointment threatening to give their appointment away. I had the same experience. Then I would walk in the salon and no one would even be there, they weren't even that busy. Frankly, those phone calls made me feel a bit harassed but I let it slide and tried to remain a loyal customer. Other times if I asked for my mani pedi to be done separate, Nancy would get upset and say, " I'already told you before, you have to request that ahead of time, as if its my fault for not keeping track of all her rules. " It's rude and I don't need to be chastised like a child, especially in front of other customers. I pay too much money and give nice tips to be treated so harshly. They are losing workers and recently I have noticed they only have one other guy still working with them. Lin is friendly and gives good pedicures. She recently complained to me that no one wants to work for them. Perhaps if they created a kinder environment others would want to continue working there. I ended up calling back a couple hours later and just cancelling my appointment. I will no longer be going to Smile Nails or recommending them. I hope they stop and read these comments and work harder on their attitude.
