The waxing itself was effecient and not as uncomfortable as I was expecting. Phew. I had my legs and underarms done. It has been a couple hours and all redness is gone. It will be a free treatment and you provide feedback on the experience. Pretty much a win-win situation. Covid-19 safety protocol is in place here. To minimize waiting inside, you are asked to come in at your appointment time. Mask is to be worn at all times. Hand sanitizer is there. Even before covid, this place already practices cleanliness with disposable paper cover on the treatment bed and pillow. One time use of spatula. No double dipping of wax. I definitely feel safe in here. The prices have gone up quite a fair bit by $5 or so and I hope it will remain stable. If it gets too expensive, I may either consider DIY or find other places or only go occasionally instead of regularly.

She lead me into a room with what can only be described as the most comfortable facial bed ever. I got undressed and into the soft sheets by the time she was back. Jessica takes her time and does things rhythmically and methodically. While other facials have included painful extraction, Jessica's was... well, heavenly. The extraction was literally pain and thus flinch free. And while your scrubs/steams/masks/lotions are working their magic, her hands are working their magic on you. One of the most relaxing massages in memory. I signed up for their membership, which I wasn't planning to do... but 30% off any treatment once a month? That makes it affordable to come in and get a facial regularly. And the facials? Are heaven. Particularly when you're in Jessica's hands. They were available for a same-day appointment, reserved only a few hours in advance. The only detractor of the location are the parking costs of being in "Downtown" New Westminster on a Sunday. From the moment coming in to the salon I was joyfully greeted by Trish , who was happy to accommodate my request for a little distance from other unmasked customers, even though it meant starting up a new pedicure chair. As an immuno compromised person, I still take care in enclosed spaces. I can sometimes be made to feel a burden by such requests even with available space. There was a substantial amount of nail polish colours to choose from and no extra charge if you selected something sparkly. My nail technician, Amy, was friendly and professional over the rough state of my feet. When you have a busy schedule and pedicures aren't possible, some places put a lot of effort into trying to make you feel bad about your feet being rough. I was very glad that this place wasn't like that because it definitely changes the enjoyment level of something that is meant to be a relaxing bit of self-care. Trish noticed my broken fingernail and suggested fixing it. she said the price for, a polish change versus full mani was only five dollars so I went ahead with the full Mani Pedi. There was a bit of a hiccup with both my color choices not coming out the way they seemed on the examples but both Trish and Amy were helpful in sorting it out to my satisfaction. Amy thoughtfully touched base with me throughout the Mani Pedi to make sure that nothing hurt and I was feeling OK. Lovely service that included hot towels and leg massage. I didn't ask for the specifics, but it seemed like she either was texting or messaging someone directly, and was able to get us an appointment around the time when they were opening. We walked in at exactly our appointed time, and they had our seats waiting for us. They only had four employees at the time, and two of them were already assisting other customers, so my friend and I hopped into our seats to be assisted next,, while the hubby enjoyed the massage chair while he waited. This ended up being three manis and pedis, plus gels for all nails for the girls, and took around 1.75 hours because my friend was able to get some very cute hearts on top of the gels. Very, very thorough. They were able to clip my toe nails short and round, and did general maintenance on all nails/cuticles. The massages were great, too. Something that I really liked was that they try their best to not have the gel hit your skin; it's literally just a hair away from the skin at all directions. And the products they use were very good, as I haven't had any sort of skin reaction that I've had at other salons. The staff was hands-down amazing. They asked what we wanted, and they delivered every time. My friends' nails came out super-cute, and I'm very happy with mine. And the hubby's mani/pedi were possibly a little bit of a challenge (he has weird nails), but they got through it as much as they could. Would happily come back!!

Although yoga helped making me feel better, I decided to go for a massage. I was trying my luck that day to get accommodated without reservation. I walked in, was greeted by the lovely receptionist and asked how she can help me. I told her I wanted a massage. She checked her computer and luckily I only have to wait 1 hour. This Eccotique branch is conveniently located inside Metrotown mall. I could definitely spend 1 hour window shopping. Five minutes prior to my appointment I was already back at Eccotique. I was lead inside and was asked to sit on a couch and wait for my masseuse. I was offered water or tea while I wait. After five minutes, my masseuse came and introduce herself. My masseuse' name is Paige. She then lead me to a private room. The room is of adequate size. Enough for a massage bed and for the masseuse to move around. I was asked to sit on the bed and was told to close my eyes. Paige then pressed her oil damped thumb on my forehead as she asked me to inhale deeply. She did this 3 times each with different aroma oil. I ended up choosing the Rosemary Mint oil. Paige then stepped out of the room and asked me to undress and go under the sheets face down. While waiting, I noticed the relaxing music playing in the background. I hear the sounds of the ocean and then birds. It was really pleasant to the ears. Before starting the massage, Paige asked if I have any injury or if I have parts of my body that I don't want pressure on. I am typically healthy so went for a full body massage. It was heavenly. I like that Paige would always check if the pressure is acceptable. I'm not a masochist. I don't like hurting myself more so paying the person who hurts me! I like my massage to be just right. I can say I went out of that spa a changed person. I felt so relax and loose. It felt like I can do another round of 90 minute hot yoga. This spa is highly recommended.
