This is my favourite nail salon so far, the people here are super friendly, they answer every questions you have. They are so patient with your color choosing process cuz u know it takes long time for us to decide which color we r gonna go with. So after three weeks - an update! The positives: My nails were sturdy and didn't break or chip for three weeks. The in-between: Near the end of week two, the bottom edge on a few of the nails started to lift. It took all my power not to peel them! However, I can't say for sure if this is because of the fact that they're gel instead of acrylic, or if they were poorly applied. So I haven't taken this into account in my decreased rating. The negatives: Pretty quickly as they grew out, it became clear that the gel and polish had been too heavily applied along the edge of the nails and along the cuticles. As my nails grew, you could see the excess and the nails started to look messy. I went to a new salon to get them filled and the extra work the technician had to do just to file down the bumps along the edges was very tedious. Plus she was super fearful of causing me pain because she had to get so close to the cuticle. But finally, I really didn't understand how different the quality was until I got them redone somewhere else. I am super happy with the new results and in comparison, can totally see how the ones I had from Mint were super sloppy. As a result, I've dropped the rating down. read more

Terrible experience. I phoned to book two pedicures for myself and a friend for 3pm. The salon called to confirm the appointment the day before, for two pedicures at 3pm. When we arrived, we were told that one appointment was at 3, the other at 4:15. At no point during my interactions with the salon was I informed of this, and I'm not sure why that's the case! I was explicit in that I wanted two appointments for 3pm. Waste of my time and extremely unprofessional of them To spring this on us only when we arrived. I went to Mint Nail Salon when I newly moved to the area of Langley and was searching for my new "go to" nail stop. Firstly, I gave three stars because they nail tech still did a very decent job and seemed friendly enough, but I did think a few things were pretty bogus: - On top of the cost of a pedicure/manicure there is a $15 (each) charge for shellac nail polish. I paid an extra $30 on top of the $50 fee for mani/pedi. - This wouldn't have seemed so outrageous if they didn't also charge a $7 (each) to remove the existing shellac polish. I paid an extra $14 on top of the $80 I was already paying. This was exceptionally frustrating as I'd already picked off my shellac manicure and only had one stubborn nail with shellac left on it. This hardly seemed worth a $7 charge. I assumed that perhaps this was a one time fee, as they were removing shellac that had been put on by my old salon and that seemed reasonable. However, I called to book a follow up appointment for a simple nail polish change and they informed me that to change the shellac it would cost me $25 for the polish and another $7 for removal of the shellac they already put on. Over $30 for a nail polish change, I might as well have gotten a whole new manicure! When I asked the receptionist why it would be so much for a simple change of color she informed me that they always charge the $7 removal fee because that's "most of the work" for the nail tech. In all my years of getting shellac this is the first salon to charge for so many add-ons. Most incorporate the cost of shellac into the service (higher priced mani/pedi) or they do not charge to remove existing shellac. (Especially since it's grown out, been chipped etc.) Moving forward I will be going elsewhere, as it doesn't seem right to pay over $100 (with tip) for shellac when I could pay $75 somewhere else and have the same quality of work done. Just went here for the first time . A tad more expensive than my usual nail place (Sposa Nails - which I highly recommend) . I made an appointment for 4:45 but they called me around 3 pm to reschedule to 5:15 . No big deal . I arrived on time , but , a regular had showed up at the same time and they tried to seat her before me .. Even though I had an appointment. I told them that appointments should be a priority and then they took me first . My nail tech was quick and pleasant . I was done in about an hour . Over all , 3/5 stars . They are close to my house so I will go again in the future if Sposa is full. read more

Haven't had a bad experience here yet and I am three sets in with this salon and I have seen a different nail tech each visit and I am happy to report that all three sets I have seen them for have all lasted without lifting, breaking or chipping. I am a little rougher than the average bear with my hands as well so this, for me, is BIG. They have a super clean and charming little salon in the busy part of 200th Street in Langley and they always are really busy each time I have visited. Appointments are recommended but they are wonderful at accommodating walk ins as best they can. The girls are super sweet that work there. They also offer pedicures in a pedicure bar style setting where they offer hot stone massage with the pedicures which is a nice addition. I have yet to try this service though but it is definitely on my list for my next visit. I believe they offer an array of services in the spa setting as well because they have a room delegated for that so its definitely worth it to check it out if you're interested in other spa services as well. Anyone in the Langley area looking for a great spot to pop in for a mani/pedi should give Mint a go! read more

Randomly popped in to check out this adorable nail salon before Xmas and was given a $20 off coupon to be used in the new year! Thanks guys! So I put it to use today on a mani-pedi girls day! The young lady that did my pedicure was awesome! Spent lots of time taking care of my toes, all of the tools were clean and sterilized, lots of colour choices in both OPI & China Glaze lines. My only qualm was the teeny pedestal you have to perch your feet on from the comfy couch. Is anyone ever comfortable after holding that position for a freakin hour??! After it feels like you've just don't 100 lunges! (Or maybe that's just me). I did enjoy having my manicure done from that same comfy couch though! Lots of massaging of the hands & feet made me relax and enjoy! I'll be coming back for sure! read more

My review is only based on customer service. I did not get my pedicure done so I can't review their work. As usual a typical chop shop nail salon. You book an appointment and come in to have you wait, because you no they over booked or took in walks in's with in minutes of your appointment! I can't stand this! I book an appointment and expect to have service provided with in 5 mins. Nope they had me wait 15 minutes. I got pissed off walked out and left! They didn't even call to apologize! Wasted my time! I was looking for a salon that offered me value, quality and professional service. It was a pleasant change to walk in the door and not have someone yell "Pick your colour!" from the back of the room. The décor is simple but classier than many of the other nail bars I have been to. My first visit, I brought one of my daughters and she was so excited with the pretty designs on her toes - not the typical 5 dot daisies. Pricing is very reasonable - only $5 more for a mani/pedi than the salon that treated me like just another set of nails in a production chain - I consider it money well spent. I have happily recommended them to my friends, family, co-workers and keep their business cards handy for all the people who compliment my nails. I went here to get chrome nails but I could see that they have never done it before so I just got my ring finger done in silver chrome and black shellac on the other fingers. The girl was not very talkative but did keep a commentary going on selling some earrings beside her. As she was doing the chrome she told me it was not very good for her health but that she was just a worker and that she had to do it.... came out ok but as you can see in the picture it is very grainy when I told her I wanted it smooth, abit of chrome on my skin surrounding the nail too. They charged me $5 extra for each chrome nail. The pedicure was done by a different girl named Elaine and she did a great thorough job. The salon is nice and clean, no clientele when I went in but when somebody did come in, I had to tell them somebody was at the counter several times cause some of the workers were relaxing in the pedicure seats with there shoes off. Lol So overall cost $74 for shellac manicure, two chrome nails and a pedicure... and i tipped more for the pedicure lady. read more

Worst nail place in Langley! Will never return! Be warned of trying to up sell services (like powder) and to short change you on services. I paid for a full mani ($35) and agreed to add powder to strengthen the nails ($15). The manicurist tried to do a mini mani: no cuticle trim, but when I said I wanted my cuticles done she didn't soak my hands to soften the cuticles. As a result, she was pulling the skin around my cuticles and when I asked about soaking my hands she said, "oh do you want to soak your hands?" Really? Then she didn't want to do a hand massage because that's not part of a mani! What?? Never had a mani in 20 years that didn't involve a hand soak, cuticle trim and a massage. With all the manicure places to go, try somewhere else. read more

I had the worst experience yet when it comes to nail salons. The lady barely spoke English. I tried communicating that I like my nails a bit on the longer side and even showed a picture as a point of reference. She started cutting them way to short. When I told her that she raised her voice and said she asked me if the length was okay, which did not happen. She then sanded everything off and sanded my nail bed way too thin. She burned me with the tool twice not saying anything. From there on she was not gentle whatsoever. She barely spoke a word to me after that. Even when paying she just handed me the machine and looked irritated. It was the most uncomfortable situation I've been in. Have been to many nail salons for pedicures and end up with infections or sore toes. Mint was amazing! walked out of there and my feet felt and looked amazing. Helen could care less about even looking at me the entire time at my appointment. First visit, so you think they'd try to impress. FOUR...YES, FOUR nails fell off by week 2 of a new set she put on!! I don't know if the skillset or the products were substandard, but how much do they spend trying to get new customers in and then when they get their they don't even know how to say a few words in English or seem to care? The manager seemed to be pleasant, but she didn't do my nails. Then, I read the reviews and see management slam customers instead of them taking the negatives and doing better, apologizing and appearing professional. Posting crap about reviews makes you look even worse!!! I will never return. LEARN SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. AND WHEN CUSTOMERS COMPLAIN, FIX YOUR STAFF AND SERVICE, DON'T PUT THE CUSTOMER DOWN. A business grows by making mistakes and learning, not thinking they are right all the time!! Too much competition to waste on businesses and staff that either don't like caucasians or don't like their jobs. Why else doesn't a person even look you in the eyes over a 2 hour period?? I went there to get solar acrylic onto my natural nails (no tips). My nails weren't painted, just clear over my natural nails. She didn't even shape my nails, I was in and out in 25 minutes and they charged me $55 plus tax. Very disappointed and I will definitely not be going back. read more

I used to live in Langley, and this salon was literally just down the road from my house. in a spur-of-the-moment decision I stopped in at this adorable little nail salon. They managed to squeeze me in same-day, and were so polite. When I got there, my nail tech was a little on the quiet side, but you get your nails done on this cool bar, so you can talk to everyone. And the other techs were also so nice. The next night, I noticed a lot of bumps in my nail, and was a little bit bummed out. So I called them back to ask for their opinion, and they actually re-scheduled me to come back and get them fixed - entirely for free. When I got there, I had a different tech named Jessica. She has to be the best tech they have, I swear. She was so knowledgeable about their products, she answered all my goofy questions (what's the difference between cheap and costly nail polishes? ...etc) and she had such a passion for what she was doing. She was showing me pictures on her phone of all her nail art, and she really takes the word "Art" to the next level. She explained that the reason why my nails lifted off so easily may be because their product (En Vogue) may not work for me. She tried a number of different tricks of the trade to help the nails stick better this time around. The nails only lasted about 14 days for me, however that's the longest I've ever had fake nails last on my fingers. Not only that, but the polish was fantastic, and the finish was so smooth. Easily the worst pedicure I have ever had. This experience started off by booking an appointment for 2 pedicures, they said we may have to wait a bit so I didn't understand why they booked an appointment for us in the first place. Anyways we showed up on time for the appointment and didn't actually get us in until 40 minutes later, no surprise that they double booked. And even then when we sat down we couldn't even sit together, how fun is that? Now this next part is why I will never go back to Mint. My nail technician was just awful, the best way to describe her was she was probably finished work and then asked to stay to do my pedicure, was mad and took it out on my feet. Not only was she extremely aggressive in anything she did to my feet, she was continually looking at the clock. I've never felt so uncomfortable having a pedicure in my life. The only decent thing about it was the polish job, minus the fact that she cut my nails too short. This just sucks because i'm sure the salon is normally fine, but this experience has me scarred and I wont be returning. I just hope that this woman doesn't treat everyone this way. read more

By far the worst wax experience I have ever had with a salon. I usually go down town to get waxed but thought I would try out some place closer. Definitely should have looked into it more before I came here! The appointment started off okay and the usual uncomfortableness of a Brazilian. But as soon as the waxer went into it things just went straight down hill. She supposedly had over 10 years experience! First of all, the place I usually went to uses soft wax. I don't know about anyone else but my hair does not grow in one smooth direction down there! Minted used hard wax which caused the lady to have to pull hard to try and get all the directions that my hair grows in. After over 15 minutes of this (it usually takes 15 minutes to get a Brazilian!) she had to use SCISSORS to CUT the wax out of my pubic hair! I was not only in pain but completely embarrassed! She kept making comments about how this had never happened to her before and how my hair grew abnormally! I have never had anything like this ever happen to me and I have never in my life had a waxer have issues with my hair. She then used soft wax to take the remaining hair off my already irritated skin. Not only was the experience incredibly painful and embarrassing, the waxer didn't even apologize or offer any discount. The wax job was patchy and barely lasted a week. Being completely embarrassed, I said nothing, paid the price and left as fast as I could! I know now that if that ever happens to me I will say something at the appointment. Be warned!!
