The waxing itself was effecient and not as uncomfortable as I was expecting. Phew. I had my legs and underarms done. It has been a couple hours and all redness is gone. The value of the facial was stated to be $169, so I was expecting amazing things for that high value. This is a one woman salon in the owner's home in a townhome complex. There is unfortunately only one visitor parking spot in the area, and that was taken when I arrived so I had to wait until the previous guest was finished with their treatment. My appointment was for 10 am, but the treatment didn't begin until 10:10. The owner let me know that she was double (actually triple) booked so during my treatment she would be doing a chemical peel on another client, and another service on another client. Twice, she left me laying on the spa table waiting for 20 minutes each time. For my 75 minute facial, the owner spent only 25 minutes on me! So, $169 for 25 minutes of facial, and 50 minutes of lying and WAITing to be treated. All I got was a light chemical peel applied in the 1st 10 minutes, then a cream massaged into my face in my 2nd 15 minutes with a light shoulder massage. -The so-called "skin consultation" was simply her saying "your skin looks dehydrated". That was all. -The phone was ringing constantly while I was there, and the owner actually left my treatment to go answer calls several times. A few of the calls were from other customers frantic that there was nowhere for them to park! -The sheets and towels in my treatment room were stained. -During the times that she was massaging cream onto my face, the owner kept giving me a sales pitch on the line of skin care products that she sells and/or skin care treatments "that make you look so much younger". I did not ask about products or come to be pressured into buying product, I came for a facial service. -I fully expected her to continue on past the 75 minute mark, due to being left alone for 50 minutes, but at precisely 11:15 she came into the treatment room, indicating she was done, and asked how I had liked my facial! Let's just say I will never be back!

Sugaring Change popped up and I was intrigued. I never got the chance to try the place until recently. I decided to just try it as the waxer I like is on mat leave and the location is no longer convenient for me. My alternative waxer has changed her work schedule and I could not meet her timing. So Sugaring Change it is. This is the fastest Brazilian hair removal I ever had. I think I was done in 15-20 minutes. It was gentle, less painful (to me) than hard or soft wax. It was clean and best of all, no tweezing was done (not sure if it is commonly done anyway). I had my session with Danica and she was very patient in explaining the procedures and would let me know the products she would be using as I am sensitive to certain products. The place was nice, clean and quiet. You need to key in a code at the door to enter. I do not think there is a receptionist there at all times as I tried calling when I was there and there was no answer. To make an appointment, you will be better off doing it online or texting or at the desk. Parking at the underground garage is limited (I was told the 2 spots meant for them is usually taken up by staff), and it may be easier to find a spot on the street instead. I will definitely be back again in future.

When I walked in, she looked as if she didn't want to be there, offering no greeting or smile, and had a demeanor similar to an angry school teacher. She pointed to the chair, and asked me in a brusque manner, "What do you want to do today?" I specifically told her that I wanted to clean up my eyebrows without thinning them out. Despite this, she proceeded to roughly remove the hairs, causing me a lot of pain and leaving me with uneven eyebrows. When I pointed out that one eyebrow was thinner than the other, she refused to take responsibility for her mistake, blamed my eyebrows, and simply walked away. To add insult to injury, after threading my eyebrows, she didn't even apply any gel or cream, which is the usual practice to soothe the skin. When I asked her for some, she rudely extended her arm out to me with the gel and told me to do it myself. To make matters worse, I had gone to the salon two days before my birthday, and now I have to celebrate with thin, uneven eyebrows and a couple of scars. I'm extremely unhappy with the service I received, and I won't be returning to the salon. I do want to mention that during a previous visit, another esthetician, a kind and patient woman from Bombay, did an excellent job on my eyebrows. However, based on my most recent experience with the owner, I cannot recommend this salon. If you're looking for someone who is gentle, patient, and follows instructions, I suggest you look elsewhere.
