I stopped by this nail salon for a pedicure date. This salon was recommended by my sister. I paid extra for a leg mask, an extended massage with hot stones and a paraffin wax treatment. The pedicure was delightful and a perfect self-care splurge. There was attention to cuticle care and polish application was on point. Service was great. They offered a large selection of nail polish colours. Nail salon was clean and tidy. Newly packaged nail tools were used during the session. The massage chair was great too. No complaints. I went here for the first time today based on positive reviews on google maps. I get my nails done all the time and am a bit of a snob when it comes to nails so I was looking to find my new long term nail salon. They did not disappoint! The shop is nicely decorated, clean, and well ventilated. Lisa was my nail technician, and she was excellent. I got a fresh acrylic set with shellac polish. She asked me throughout the process what I wanted and to check and make sure what she was doing was what I wanted (nail shape, nail thickness, etc). She did a really nice job. She also didn't charge me to remove the UV gel set I came in with which was a nice perk. And she gave me a lovely hand and arm massage at the end, which not all salons do. Great service. One tip - it can be a little hard to find, because right now (July 2019) there's a large tree that covers their ship sign. Received a Groupon for Christmas for a mani/pedi and decided to check this place out! It's located on the McBurney Lane walkway but there is parking right out front. The place is bright and clean. The couple running it are kind and polite. I sat in the massage chair soaking my toes watching the food network on their huge tv. She cleaned up my toes and gave me a nice message with the exfoliant and then used hot stones and hot towels on my legs and feet Ahhhhhhh heaven! Also soaked my fingers and she massages me hands and forearms. It was really nice! I always get a bit nervous because I've had technicians hurt me with their tools but she didn't hurt me at all! I went to get my lashes done and showed pictures and described what I wanted, and when I was done they looked nothing like the pictures and did not fit the description I gave. They were $100, and I had to spend a few minutes brushing them out to see if they would look any better. I called back to let them know that I did not like them and they told me they "looked good on my eye" and that she "doesnt understand why I don't like them." She offered to put some more on, but said I had to come back same day, although I had to work the rest of the day or later in the day tomorrow, or else I would have to pay for a fill. I've been going to Popular nails for the past 5 years & they are absolutely wonderful. I normally do my nails fairly plain with just a colour and a bit of sparkle to keep them shinney between visits. Halloween is coming up so I asked ONE ( my favourite nail tech ) to do something more fun and exciting this time. She did them orange, black and added cute little spider webs on 2 of my fingers and small spiders with crystals on 2 others. They are SUPER CUTE. Very, very happy with the full gel set I got here, especially at this price. I came in with acrylics that I wasn't very happy with- Kenny agreed that the shape was terrible, and removed them and did gels plus nail art for around $60. It's obvious he takes pride in his work and he shaped my coffin nails perfectly! Slim, symmetrical and thin enough to almost look like natural nails. Shoddy service. For past 3+ years I've had a classic pedicure every 3-4 weeks all year round but in last 6 months service has deteriorated to a terrible level. Will not return. Aug 17th pedi service; photos taken Aug 18-21. Acrylic on big toenails. (pic 1, 2) R & L free edge uneven and R acrylic lumpy. (pic 3) I removed the polish. Went there for first time yesterday and worst place ever. The lady who did my lip wax never interacted with me - she was on phone speaking loudly to someone in Vietnamese. No manners. Then when getting pedicure she sat in next chair speaking Vietnamese to the girl doing my pedicure. If you are going to cater to all races have the courtesy to interact with your customers and not be rude by speaking a foreign language Also lip wax was terrible - she did not check to see if she had gotten all the hairs which she did not. Then she admitted she was the only one that could do the nail finish I wanted. Asked me to wait for half an hour. Today I got a mani/pedi. It was our first visit there. I really like my pedicure but was not happy with my manicure. For my manicure, I had a different girl and the polish was not cleaned up around my nails. I had polish on my cuticles. I had to clean them up when I got home. I wasn't impressed. My pedicure was really nice, which was done by another girl. My friend really liked her manicure but was not completely satisfied with her pedicure. We also were charged an extra $5 each for our shellac polish to be removed since they hadn't done our previous manicures. When I asked the owner about this, he stated that all salons do this. We had never heard of this and never been charged for this. Overall, not the best experience. Not sure we will be back. read more

Kenny is awesome! I went in for a fill to his shop for the first time and he was very professional. He did a great job on my acrylics and made mention of the best practices for gel nails as well. Clearly, this man knows his stuff! He also free-handed art work on my ring fingers that I just love. I bought a Groupon for 2 mani/pedis. My sister and I tried several times over 6 weeks to book our appointment, they had no availability. The Groupon expired. I booked a single appointment and explained what happened, they said no problem they could get my sister in within a week. However when I was done they scanned my Groupon, said it was a month expired, it was actually 2 weeks, and they would not honor my sisters half.
