The mechanic I previously went to told me I needed to get my rear differential replaced for $3,500 which I didn't sound right so I went here and they diagnosed my real problems in a matter of minutes. If I could give Zach and Phil a 10, I would. I took my 2008 Acura to them for a second opinion after an Acura dealer told me I needed at least $6,700, possibly more, in repairs after my car overheated. After Phil and Zach did some diagnostic testing, made some minor repairs and a did careful inspection and evaluation of the motor, they told me the motor was in great condition and with continued timely maintenance, it could run another 100,00 miles. I'd called them with questions more than once after confronting the Acura dealer and they always took the time to answer me with patience and clear explanations. I have found him to be so - to go out of his way to assist - a very competent mechanic - with very good pricing. Plus a great spirit in the office with him and his sister Carol who manages the desk - always positive. I have been so happy with the pricing compared to the Toyota dealers I often give him a tip - I know I am being treated fairly - and it is really worth it to have a competent mechanic. I can't say enough good things about Paul and Carol. Last Saturday, I took my car on a test drive (haven't driven it in a couple weeks) to ensure everything was in working order for my California-bound trip and noticed the brakes were malfunctioning. I called Paulco on Monday, explaining I was going away for a week and wanted to avoid paying for a rental (expecting an $800 brake job) and Paul said he'd do his best to accommodate. I dropped off my car Monday afternoon and received an update from Paul a few hours later. He gave me a detailed breakdown of my vehicle's break condition and the needed repairs (leaking brake cylinders). When I asked for the damage, Paul said,"about $125!" I'm in the car business and understand many repair shops make their money up-selling more expensive repair jobs. Most nationwide shops would've recommended a full drum brake replacement without a second thought . I'm thankful for the person who referred me to Paulco because I was prepared to pay the full replacement cost. Feeling relieved that I dodged an $800 repair bill and $300 rental, I hop in my car to leave the shop and notice my car is cleaner now than when I left it. Carol vacuumed my car! Who does that? Paul is the mechanic everyone wishes they had but keep searching for their whole life. Some find a mechanic they think they can trust and swear by them but still walk away suspicious about why that last one cost so much. Paul is the mechanic anyone off the street could drive (or be towed to), blindly hand over their credit card, tell him to charge what he thinks is fair and never need to think twice about it. Paul is one of the best auto mechanics in the Seattle area. I've known him since he was about 14 and was going around our neighborhood fixing people's lawn mower engines. Paul is very honest and a good mechanic. Paul is the only mechanic I will go to. I trust him completely to give me an honest assessment and he never does work that doesn't have to be done. One time I took my car to the dealer service shop and was quoted about $1,000 just to open up the car to see what the problem was. Looking for a second opinion, I followed a friend's recommendation and took my car to Paulco. Paul fixed the problem for about $300, and then fixed something else he'd noticed for free. Another time I witnessed another customer arguing with Paul that he didn't charge enough and that he wanted to pay double, the service was that outstanding.
