You don't have to go to K-town to get great and authentic Korean food! I go to Greenland Market to buy my Korean bbq meats to make at home but walk past this place in the same plaza. It's hidden behind TJ Korean BBQ. It's a small family owned Korean restaurant that sells all types of Korean food, not just BBQ though they have that here too. I ordered the soon tofu soup and it was delicious. Love their banchan as well and one of the few restaurants that serve purple rice! Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly! Oh! Exactly what I imagined a small restaurant in Korea would be like. I loved all the banchan. I had the bibimbap in the stone pot, and it was delicious. The rice was crispy and the beef was tender and flavorful. I mixed it all up with gochugang and it was hot and delicious. The lady who served us was nice and we saw the dumplings being folded at the table right next to us. They were pan fried crunchy and delicious. So glad I visited. Wow this was good!!! Got some bbq sliced beef with the jap chae noodles! It was incredible! But the best part was the side dishes that came with! Blew us away! My grandparents moved to the states 3 years ago and I take them to different places for them to try new things but always get a simple, yes this is good response. What a nice find and I do mean find since it's really tucked in to the left of the larger TJ Korean. We're new to the area and was looking for some Korean BBQ for lunch. Walked in and was warmly greeted immediately. I asked to see a menu & asked if it was alright to bring our puppy to the outdoor seating. The nice lady said certainly and the rest was a very pleasurable experience. After a nice greeting we ordered a Korean beer, water, Beef Bulgogi and a Spicy Pork dishes. (See pictures) Our drinks and banchan was brought out promptly and our sizzling entrees followed soon thereafter. The food was hot and delicious. We were checked on regularly. Open for take-out right now! Call the restaurant directly to order from the sweet lady. We're cooking a lot while safer-at-home so when we order out, we order extra so that we get a couple of meals out of the one trip. The galbi and bbq chicken was a treat. It's like i had a little taste of Korea. Banchan good. Stew spicy. Taste delicious. Definitely one of the best Korean places in the valley in general. Nice family oriented place. Whenever I went (granted usually weekday evenings), the place was filled with people in their 40s-70s happily eating home style food. No frills but really comforting, hearty food. Entrees are 20-30$ but you can share between two people if you tend to have a smaller appetite. The menu is in Korean and has the literal English translation next to it so if you don't read Korean it might be hard to figure out what you're ordering. But that's part of the fun! read more

My first visit here and I was glad I came. I ordered the Naeng Myun (cold noodle soup) and Kalbi Ribs combo on a HOT evening, and both were delicious. The Naeng Myun had a good flavor to start with, and once the ice starts melting I add vinegar and spicy mustard to renew that flavor. And the ribs were tender. Service was attentive and friendly. And I loved the sides they have, they had great flavor and refill them. Oh and my wife got the seafood/veggie pancake and veggie porridge. Solid option for Korean food in the valley. Conveniently located in a plaza with a korean grocery store with lots of parking this place is cool if you are already in the area and planning on getting groceries. The decor is sparse and minimalist, but if you are coming here it ain't to post something to Instagram, it's to get some down home korean eats. You can tell if a korean restaurant will be good or not based on the banchan (side dishes) that come out usually before your meal. This place was solid and we asked for several refills (gratis) on some of the banchan. I ordered a broiled mackerel and dwenjang stew lunch set that was generously proportioned and quick to the table. They have several lunch time sets and specials so it is worth coming for combination deals in my opinion. Haven't tried anything else on the menu, but if I was in the area again I would not mind a repeat visit for that banchan and maybe a different soup or combo. read more

This place is easy to miss. It's tucked away now the inner corner of a Korean strip mall, with high walls, and thriving homeless encampment festering beneath them. However,if you make it through the gates there is plentiful parking and this restaurant is tucked between a Kareoke place, and KBBQ spot. From the outside, and inside, this place doesn't look like much. Luckily, what it lacks in ambience, it makes up for in the quality of its food. From the location, customers, and servers, I got the feel that this was a Korean's Korean restaurant if that makes any sense. They have most, if not all of the standard dishes you might expect from a soondubu spot, but the menu doesn't list them by the names you might know them by. For example, the standard plate of bulgolgi on a sizzling bed of grilled onions is present, but on the menu, it's just called bbq sliced beef. The Bibimbap is just called something like meat with rice and vegetables. It's not a big issue, but it can be a little confusing and it could be a little disappointing if you thought they didn't have what you were looking for. To be safe, just ask the server for what you are looking for and she might direct you to the appropriate thing on the menu. One thing to note is some of the soups are very large compared to others and should be shared. I got the soy bean paste stew with vegetables which I consider normal size, by my girlfriend got the kimchi with pork belly and it was really big. The Bibimbap was standard, but very good. The stone pot was scorching hot so you got a nice layer of crispy rice along the edges. Overall, I can't say anything was particularly different or unique, but everything was solidly good. read more

I never do Yelp reviews but as someone who is closer to K-Town than the valley I didn't have much faith for a Korean restaurant far from Ktown. But I was blown away, as someone who is living far from home and misses her mom's cooking the vibes were very homey and the ajumma that was working was so kind. You can tell this restaurant is authentic given it was all old Korean folks and KBS was playing on the small tv and the ajumma only spoke Korean to us haha, but she speaks English as well. We came in close to closing but she still seated us and even told us to not rush our eating when we were trying to scarf down our food in time. She made sure we had enough side dishes, they were for the most part very standard. We got the 갈비 (Galbi), Seolungtang, Rice Cake Mandu Soup, and 오징어 볶음 (stir fried squid) all was very delicious and I would say all extremely worth it. Galbi was a bit on the pricey side but I mainly think that's due to inflation and I would 10/10 times come here again because how kind the workers were as well as how homey the environment and how yummy the food was for the valley. Out of the blue, my fiancé wanted Korean BBQ but since we moved, we had no idea where a place local to use would be. While starving, we frantically looked on Yelp to fine the closest and best Korean spot that would fit our needs. We came across Evergreen and another one right next door. They both had good reviews, but Evergreen was more of the sit down, order and they bring it out. Next door was the cook it yourself Korean BBQ. I ordered the Squid stir fry and it was very tasty. I forgot to tell them mild and it came out pretty spicy but I was good. Also, for those that know my obsession with Bulgolgi, it was amazing! My fiancé ordered the bulgolgi and if she didn't like seafood I would of quickly traded her. The beef bulgolgi was probably my favorite item there and will gave me going back often. The vegetable pancake wasn't great but I've seen others order the seafood one so I have to give that one a try. Overall, it's a solid Korean BBQ joint and I'm glad it's minutes from our house. No fuss awesome Korean food!!! Order: Fried Dumplings, Seafood Scallion Pancake, Galbi + Tofu Soup combo. I think what I liked most about this place was that there really was no gimmicks. Just a very homey vibe with your aunt serving you homemade food. Kind of is a good indicator for me whether a place is legit. It was all the uncles and aunties going about their lunch and having a good meal. The ahjumma manager / owner was running around working so hard by herself to host and serve people. I am not sure how she did it. But was really happy with my food. I dont think I have reacted like that to food in a bit. The only thing I would wish for, for other people would be a picture menu with romanized names of the dishes alongside the english description. There's another big Korean wave happening because of K Dramas and people always see terms like Haemul Pajeon and see that its a seafood scallion pancake.
