I started going to evergreen PT when it was in the old building on Del Mar. I've since returned with some new issues. Every therapist there has been knowledgeable and understanding. Their new office has easy parking and Bryan at the front desk has been super accommodating with scheduling. Heather my physical therapist has help me avoid knee surgery after my MRI showed that I have a torn meniscus. When I arrived three months ago I could not walk without a brace and a cane. Now I am back to water skiing, dirt biking and squatting a few hundred pounds. I have seen progression after every visit. Heather has customized my work each session to improve exactly the part of my knee which was hurting most. My wife had a great experience here as well five years ago. I've been going to Evergreen for 6 months and it's been a terrific experience. My physical therapist, Tamara, is outstanding, so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I've also taken Pilates with Krissy and Qi Gong with Sue--both are excellent. Evergreen is quiet, clean and uncrowded. After receiving a long awaited shoulder surgery, I was prescribed physical therapy. My choice to go to Evergreen turned out to be the best decision. I was paired up with Physical Therapist, Carlos, who in my opinion is the best therapist ever. He is smart, knowledgeable, caring, patient, and an excellent problem solver who always thought outside the box. He was always thinking of new ways to help me recover. In the process, I was introduced to Trish who is an expert in Pilates amongst other things. She was also instrumental in getting me back on my feet by incorporating pilates into my therapy. Trish is very caring and knowledgeable. She had a knack of knowing how far to push me to help me gain my strength back, and always with a smile. Because of these two lovely people, I have made a complete recovery and I am actually in better shape all around than when I got there. The thing I love the most about Evergreen and especially my therapists, is their genuine concern about the whole person and not just their injury. Carlos routinely asked me how the "rest of me" was doing. Everything was pertinent information and mattered to him. As a retired police officer, I can say over my 22 years of service, I kind of lost faith in human beings. Carlos, Trish and the Evergreen crew have made me realize I was wrong to feel that way. I went to Evergreen because of some knee pain. I'm an avid cyclist and ride Century's every month and local mountain biking on weekdays and weekends when I'm not putting in longer miles. My physical therapist was Frances. She understood my passion and commitment to cycling. She quickly analyzed the causes of my knee pain and got me started with a smart treatment plan. I was happy with my therapist. The place is, by far, too small to allow for social distancing. Brian (at the front desk) doesn't seem to like his job or working with people. He refuses to call the insurance companies or tell you there's a copay, even if you ask him- you'll get a bill in the mail, when you think you were covered. Had to do physical therapy for my son, who was six months old at the time. He is now 10 months old, and has tremendously improved because of his time in PT. We had Dave as our physical therapist, and he was so patient, kind, and knowledgeable. This was during Covid, and they adapted beautifully to all the changes going on. We had an in-person visit toward the beginning of his sessions, and then utilized tele-health (video conferencing) during the more stringent restrictions of Covid, and then we were able to get another in-person visit toward the end of his physical therapy sessions.. We definitely recommend this place to anyone. read more

In the process of breaking my two feet a total of three times during the last third of 2018, I discovered I have osteopenia. Best described as osteoporosis light, osteopenia would stink for anyone, but I'm only in my early-40s and also famously clumsy, which puts me at further physical risk. Admiring them for their broad range of sports and dance expertise, my orthopedist referred me to Evergreen, where I spent months getting stronger and improving my balance with nearly every PT on their talented, thoughtful, and friendly staff. (I understand some don't care for the practice of rotating PTs, but I like it because it assures institutional memory among the therapists and provides new insights to the patients.) I now come to Evergreen every Thursday to work out with Trish as part of their wellness training program and I can't overstate how happy I am that they offer this. First, Trish's workout program is custom-designed for my osteopenia. Second, Trish is an excellent trainer, massage therapist, and dancer who *always* comes up with something new, challenging, and fun to do every week. Since she started training me, I've gotten so much stronger (no new breaks!) and have even seen large improvements in an unrelated elbow thing. Also, and not for anything, but she's really funny and I just generally enjoy our time together. Bottom line, I have only praise for everyone and everything at Evergreen. read more

Evergreen is by far the BEST physical therapy facility I have been to. I have seen Anne and Carlos for almost a year now and have progressed from a wheelchair to walking after being paralyzed. They listen to you and hear what you are saying. They truly care! I also have had the privilege of a massage by Trish. Amazing would be an understatement. Started coming here about 6 weeks ago after a partial Quad Tendon tear. First few visits were with Liz. She was awesome. Really helped explain all of the therapy that would be taking place to rehab from my injury. Then the past month I've had Nick taking care of me and he's been awesome. Always explains the reasons behind the work we do. There were some moments my quad was barking but I knew it was for the good of my recovery. Went to Evergreen for leg swelling and knee issues. Bryan is a GREAT guy and that is all I liked about the place. The parking lot is not easily accessible, difficult to get out of handicapped and then opposite the flow of parking. The worst thing was how NOISY the place was - could not hear myself think. Saturday was not overly crowded and the noise from the staff room made it hard to hear my therapist. Found Louise to be argumentative. She taught me some neat "massage" exercises which I dont remember what they were cause I couldnt see her applying them. Said she would give me printouts but never did - she thought I would remember but I dont. Twice I left the center and had forgotten my exercise when I went to use them home. read more

I started at Evergreen about 3 yrs ago for prenatal PT and have been with them ever since. Ann (who is no longer there) really helped with my pre/post natal back issues. When I was feeling strong enough she then referred me to Trish for fitness sessions. Best thing I've ever done. Trish has been amazing in helping me become stronger (and shed some baby weight) through pilates and circuit training. She always asks how I am feeling before we start and is very considerate if I am having any pain or issues during our workout and if I am, she quickly addresses them. I never thought I was the type to have a personal trainer but she is a gem! I definitely look forward to our sessions. My daughter also goes to Evergreen for PT and has really improved with the help of Calyn and Nick. Evergreen Physical Therapy in Pasadena is a fantastic group of very knowledgeable therapists. After my first visit in a caring and comfortable environment I felt hopeful that they could help after being told by an orthopedist that I was aging and should take Tylenol. My weekly visits with Calyn started with her questions about how I was feeling and she quickly found that the problem actually started because of a knee injury that I had been ignoring and that was causing pain in my back, hips and sciatica. In a few weeks I was running up the stairs holding an eighteen month old and feeling great! I learned many exercises that I can do at home to continue in good physical health but will return to Evergreen if the need arises. 4 months ago I completely fractured my humerus all the way through in an unfortunate roller derby accident. I had surgery a week later, and one month into my recovery it was time to start physical therapy, my doctor referred me to Evergreen. When I first called Brian took care to make sure that I was able to get an appointment as soon as I needed and was in within the next with Elena. I was immediately at ease with Elena; she took a lot of time to fully understand what was going on with my arm and what my goals were. She was also really funny and easy to talk to which helped to make the entire experience better. Each time i saw Elena she took notes on what I was feeling, worked with what I told her, came up with a plan on what to do, and gave me things to work on for the days I didn't see her. She pushed me to the point that I was able to make progress with every visit with out putting me in pain as many people warned me would happen at PT. When I first met Elena I could barely pick up anything that weighed more than a couple pounds. Now after working with Elena for the last couple months I can fully support my full body weight and have been able to completely return to my pre-injury activities with strength and confidence. I came to Chris Wong approximately 4 1/2 months ago after I had surgery (Laminectomy/Discectomy) for a 16mm disc herniation. I can't even explain how helpful Chris was! I have been training in Olympic Lifting and wanted guidance on getting back to performing the lifts safely. Week by week, step by step he assessed my movement, analyzed my progression, and answered any and all questions! I am now picking up a bar and performing my lifts much better than before my surgery and most importantly no more pain and constant tension! I found EPT when I had my first knee surgery, my experience was so amazing, I came back when I had to have another knee surgery (yup, both knees). Then my husband had knee surgery, I didn't even have to suggest EPT, he wanted to schedule with them right away. This is not your everyday PT location to where you feel like you are a number and the care is very basic. From the moment I made my first appointment with Brian at the front desk, I knew I was in the right place. Brian and the front desk team are so supportive when making appointments, payments and questions about insurance. My husband and I have both worked with Carlos for our knee recovery and we are so grateful for all that he had done to get us back to our active lives again. Carlos is an exceptional therapist, his techniques are personalized and extremely effective. Carlos will make you work hard and you will feel the burn, this being said, he is so nice and fun to be around that you won't mind it all (especially when you see the results). I have had persistent upper back nagging pain for a year. After visiting my physician, I was recommended to try some physical therapy. I met with Dr. Suren at Evergreen about 3 months ago, and the end result is great! We've tried different exercises, cuppings and posture improvements. And now I totally got rid of the nagging pain! Without a doubt Evergreen deserves 5 stars. My experience over my 3 month rehab was nothing short of positive. From Bryan and Tabitha at the front desk, down to the PT interns, Krissy and Jeff, everyone is friendly and proffesional. I was going for post op hip surgery, and as a dance teacher, fitness instructor, and massage therapist, I rely heavily on my body. My DPT was Elena, she is amazing! Thanks to Elena I am now back to work and my normal activity level at the gym. I am beyond grateful for her. During my time at Evergreen, I was also lucky enough to win a massage from Trish, who has magical hands. I want to start by saying my Physical Therapist was great and helped me with my issue. The reason for the 1 star is their billing practices. Don't trust anything they say and verify with your own insurance. I was told that my insurance was out of network and it would be cheaper for me to just do self-pay. Being the busy working mom I am, instead of verifying myself, i just agreed to it. Only to find out later that I had already met my deductible (which they should have told me) and my services would have been fully covered. Fine, so i go back and ask for my billing records and claims, and they will not produce them! They say they can't for self pay. Finally after weeks of harassment, they were able to give me a billing record and provide the necessary CPTs. I did eventually get reimbursed from my insurance company (but not fully as i would have been would i have had Evergreen bill them directly the first time around). Then I realized for calendar year 2019, i should be submitting to insurance, which i asked them to do. Then 4 months after my date of service i receive a self pay bill again. They never submitted to insurance and here we go again. If you can find a good PT else where, i recommend you find them! They basically lie to their patients so that they can get more money then what insurance is willing to reimburse for their services. DON'T TRUST THEM. read more

I'm not one to post reviews much but I thought this may help someone else in making decisions regarding choosing a physical therapy facility. I thought I would try this facility due to convenience, although it's not the one my physician recommended. I went in for my initial evaluation for lower back pain. It was strictly an evaluation and no exercises were performed or given. Cut to my next appointment. That appointment only lasted approximately 30 minutes max. Some of the same assessing was done & then I was given 2 home exercises. I asked the receptionist why my visit was only 30 minutes and was told that's all that Blue Cross allows. This was news to me because I had a few PT sessions at the beginning of the year and they were NEVER limited to 30 minutes. I called my insurance company to verify and was told that there is no time limit for visits & that they reimburse per visit. So I called Evergreen to discuss this and was then told that their facility only get reimbursed for 30 minutes and that they keep the appointments short unless they feel you need a bit more time, they may go over the 30 minutes. I understand the rise in medical costs, I just wish they would have been forthcoming about the 30 minute appointments and how they operate their facility. So I've basically wasted my time as well as (2) PT visits for this calendar year. read more

Dave Johnson saved my life. Okay, okay, he didn't literally bring me back from death, but he sure as hell gave me my life back! I've had back pain since I was in high school (many, maaany years ago). My problem came and went, with no sense of when or why. Earlier this year it was the worst it's ever been. Usually my pain would subside after a few days, maybe a week. I was in pain for MONTHS. A friend invited me to a seminar Dave was giving. I loved Dave's energy and his approach to PT and healing. I went in for a consultation and he was certain he could help. Help he did! Dave provided a sequence of exercises/movements for me to work on, and after a few sessions was able to find the true root cause of my pain . I noticed improvement very quickly. I'm happy to say that I've been pain free for several months. I went for a follow up last week, just to check my progress and see what additional workouts I could start doing, etc. Dave doesn't want to see me again for 6 months! Which is kind of sad, because Dave is awesome, but also so exciting because that means the work we did together paid off! I can't recommend Evergreen enough. Came in with an adductor and back pain problems. In the many weeks I was there, and doing the recommended exercises faithfully at home, I made almost no progress with either of the two problems. My prescription for PT ran out, and no one even suggested that my doctor be approached for renewal, and no one ever talked to me about what had worked (or not - as in my case). They made sure during my last visit that I spent time filling out a survey to be submitted for Medicare payment for them, and I tried to fill it out showing at least some progress I could note so they'd get paid. No one took the time to "wrap things up" on my last appointment about my physical status. I was very disappointed overall. On the positive side, people were nice there. I was generally taken to my physical therapist without much wait time. I'm going to start at another PT place right now, rather than going back there. read more

Jerks will use any excuse they can to not take insurance plans. The entire medical industry is so fueled by greed that most of them refuse to be in network. Thanks to that and the fact that there are so few places that offer a good pelvic floor specialist, has made it so I cannot get any help covered by my insurance and I can't afford to go to pt without it. So despite their website, which can't be read on a mobile screen, stating they take ppos they still told me they won't take my insurance plan that is a ppo. Their website lies, and is poorly designed. read more
