After We declined their offer, we were repeatedly harassed and called racist names because my sister had an accent on the phone. These guys are scam artists. I needed a new digital keypad deadbolt lock installed that I had ordered from Amazon (Kwikset 910 Z-wave smart code electronic deadbolt). I also needed five new exterior lock and handle sets installed that I purchased at Lowes. I'm in Mill Creek so I called a local locksmith but they felt that Ron of Evergreen was best for the job so they referred it to him. Ron (the owner and lead locksmith) called me and came out that afternoon. His prices were reasonable and their was no added trip fee for traveling to Mill Creek as he services greater the Seattle area. Ron was very courteous and gave me a flat fee quote up front of $110 for the digital keypad install which included drilling a new deadbolt hole, rekeying and programming the lock code. He returned the next day to install the five new exterior lock sets for $275 which included drilling new holes and rekeying all the locks. Based on the amazing reviews here, maybe I just got a bad technician, but the experience was terrible. I was locked out of my house late at night, and the only person with a spare key was out of town. First I called and specifically asked how much it would cost to get me back in and the person on the phone told me $29.95. Sounded reasonable, so I went ahead with them instead of calling someone else. Technician arrives in about 20 minutes and tells me he's going to have to drill the lock, and it's going to cost $300. Also tells me that even if he had been able to quickly pick the lock, the price would have been the same. If the person on the phone had told me that price, I would have moved on to another company (and I'm sure he knew that). Plus it would be another $99 to replace the lock, which the guy said he would do for $49. He spent 2.5 hours to remove the lock and try to get a new one working, and in the end told me when he had drilled he had accidentally broken the mechanism inside the door so I would no longer be able to lock the door with the key, only unlock. By this point it was 1 am and I was exhausted and done arguing with him, so I let him go knowing I would have to call someone else to fix it later. Over $400 in the end for a half functional lock that took 2.5 hours, this was a scam. read more

DOES VERY POOR BUSINESS!!! I called up Evergreen Locksmith at their (206)-966-4669 phone number because I had locked myself out my apartment. I was tight on cash at the moment and explained I needed a quote of what the job would cost. They said they could not give me a quote be because of the complexity of the lock. They told me they could not do so until their technician arrived. I have a basic Kwikset door knob (online price $20). The technician quoted me $269 dollars!!! I told him I did not have that much money. The technician than quoted me $100 unfortunately all I had was $80 to give. After going back forth and telling him I would call someone else if he could not do it for $80, he agreed. He drills the lock and lets me into my apartment. I noticed him packing his things so I asked him about reinstalling the new lock and the technician told me when I get more money he will do the rest. Ten minutes later I called back and explained this to Mark their customer service representative and he was surprised the technician asked for such a high quote. He explained to me that we they were not supposed to do that and I would get a call back from his supervisor. CALL Never happened, I called back and got in contact with the supervisor. The Supervisor told me the technician said he could get my door opened for an additional $100 dollars making a total $180. The technician gave his supervisor a false report. Which I told him NEVER HAPPENED. As stated earlier I in I was only asked for $100 dollars and the technician settled for $80 when I declined. Next, I spoke to a woman claiming to be head of customer support. THIS IS WHERE EVERYTHING WENT WRONG... I explained the situation to her. She told me the prices for a lockout ranges on average from $82 to $120 (Price ranges that everyone seemed so secretive about giving out before the technician arrived when I called on the phone). She told me I should have ASSUMED (her words not mine) because the price dropped I should not have expected to be getting the full service. WHAT!!! Who assumes anything in business!!! Thats why people write up CONTRACTS!!! Speaking of contracts, I explained to her that her technician asked me to write my information and signature before EVER STARTING THE JOB! Which I felt was quite weird, but I went along with it because the technician asked for cash and all I had was a debit card. My only mistake out this entire process was signing my name before completion of the job. If I would have known I would not have given my signature. I would not have paid for HALF the service I EXPECTED! Their great solution was offering me the opportunity to pay $100 (the $100 their technician forgot to mention.) Asking a customer to pay for your MISTAKES IS VERY POOR BUSINESS. Of course I moved on from them and declined that offer. read more

This company sent out a guy in his own car who made a copy of my car key, said it did not work and took it with him. The locks on the car are kind of wonky- which is why I called in the first place. The first one I called wouldn't give me a firm price - said there would be a service charge just to show up and then the price changes based on the level of security on my car. Don't use this company for mobile services! I asked how much it would cost before I agreed to have them come out and get me back into my car. They said $29.95. That was the ONLY amount they gave me. When the kid arrived he said the $29.95 was the service fee and they would need an additional $199! It was a bait and switch and they knew it. Why would I ask ( I quote)"How much would it cost to get into my car" if I only wanted to know th service fee? I asked him to replace the door locks in my place, which I had just moved into. He did it quickly, but the rest was bad. He overruled me on the locks i wanted, and I gave in, but I wish I hadn't, as I've had them done over now. That's good I've had them redone as he used ugly (in my opinion) hardware. Plus he tossed pieces of the old lock into the yard, which wasn't very neat. Plus, he was expensive. I complained about the ugly hardware, he said defensively that they were top quality, so I checked at Home Depot. They were the cheapest ones so he made good money on my job. What I did the 2nd time was buy what I liked at Home Depot, had them key it, and had a handy man install the new good ones. I suggest you find someone else for home locks. read more

Ron was great. We were moving so we wanted him to take off our locks and put back on the landlord's locks. He not only did that. He kept ours nice and organized and when we were missing a lock he told me exactly what to get. I rarely write reviews but I feel I got conned by this company. I discovered my key to my Club anti-theft device was missing in the wee hours of the morning when trying to head home. I had carpooled and my car was parked in my friend's designated parking space, so I had reason to want to get it out quickly. Wondered how the heck to get a Club off a car, and thought hey, try a locksmith. These guys were 24 hours and said they could definitely do it and get here in about 25 minutes. I asked the cost, and whether it would be cheaper to do in the daytime. The man who answered the phone, D'Angelo, said he didn't believe so, and the cost would be $29.95. I exclaimed about how reasonable the price was and how great this would be to get it done even though it was so late. Well when the kid showed up he says $29.95 was the service fee--the additional $199.99 for the actual service was not mentioned on the phone! Kind of a BIG detail to "forget" to mention. Granted I thought $29.95 seemed awfully cheap, but I was stressed and my head wasn't working properly. It is the business's job to convey the price accurately, and after reading some other reviews, it's I clear I am not the first they have done this to. No doubt it was purposeful. SCAM!
