I promise you do not want to use Evergreen Locksmith. I called and they were quick and efficient with telling me a technician would arrive in fifteen minutes. I asked for an estimate for a replacement key for my push to start car, and he said around $150, which sounded reasonable to me. I get a call back twenty minutes later saying the technician will arrive in forty-five minutes. At this point I should've called and cancelled and found a new company, but I was stressed. The technician calls and says he has arrived, so I show him my car and my key, he says he can rekey my car. He starts doing the repair, and tells me over the course of an hour that this will only take 12 minutes each time I check in. He then tells me the replacement will be roughly $400. At this point I can't really say no since he has my car keys in his hands and has already started the process. He then makes me Venmo him, and I receive a call from the company asking how much he charged me. I then go to leave and my car is acting up and the check engine light is on. I called back asking if he could come make sure everything was reconnected correctly. The customer service person says yes, but does not give me a time estimate. I call back after thirty minutes, and then again after an hour. Both times I spoke with a woman who works there as a customer service representative who was incredibly rude. She tried to say the technician called me, when he had not, he eventually did come back and check on everything. I needed to call back after chatting details over with my husband and when I did, a customer service rep answered with a very choppy line-had to call back multiple times-but made the appointment for the next morning. Appt was scheduled for 9:00am. We received a call at 8:45 saying the technician had car troubles and needed an 1-1.5 before he could arrive. 15 mins later a different woman called letting me know they couldn't service the make and model of our vehicle because it was a "dealer-only" fob. I wouldn't have a problem with that if we hadn't re-arranged our morning to make this happen and then she calls to give me info that should have been given when they initially asked for the make and model of the vehicle 24 hours prior. Same as many folks below - I believe this operation is a scam. I was quoted $29.99 on the phone plus labor. When I asked what labor usually amounted to he wouldn't give me an exact number. I should've trusted my instinct and called someone else but I really needed to get into my apartment at the time. The locksmith took 45min to get there. It took him less than 5 minutes to open my door, requiring minimal equipment, but he said labor was 350$. That's just absurd. Do note use this service. To be honest, I'm not sure I even selected this company. I used google on my phone and called a number w/ over 4 stars. Do not use these guys! Call around and get a solid quote! I locked my keys in my car, because I was rushing. I used Evergreen, because they came up on my phone as Seattle's #1 auto locksmith. The locksmith tech got to me within 15 minutes and it took about 3 minutes for the tech to open the door. The tech was nice and and told me it would cost $199 to open the door plus the $29 service fee I was quoted. It came up to $250 or $238 in cash. Unfortunately, I spoke with two other mobile locksmith companies later that evening and they said they would have done it for $39 service fee and $40-49 dollars to open the door. $100 total at the most. The most disappointing part is that I asked the dispatch caller for Evergreen and the tech, if this was an honest price and they shared it was. It was not a good experience. Then the scam - the new guy who was on facetime with someone telling them how to unlock the car - got the car unlocked (which AAA would have done for free) and then, whooooho cannot rekey the fob - no one our firm can. Then get a call back from someone else explained everything again - he would have some one call back - another call yes we can rekey for between $399 to $499, then as the other charge was obviously high $275 to $375. But these workers are not at fault they gotta do their job and feed their family, so cannot really hate on that. But the way in which the achieve this by hurting other people either by over charging them or wasting their time is questionable and definitely unethical. Negatives: Quoted over the phone with a minimum price to a maximum price from 120-220. They will likely say that they cannot no for sure what kind of programming, and therefore price will likely be more expensive. You can count on it being more expensive. Although I've talked to other lock smith with the exact same service. It can definitely be determined before hand how much it will cost. After arriving to your car they will give over charge you; if you don't accept the rate they will charge you service fee of 29$. If you do not agree with them, they will ask a separate person to call you and get a recording of you confirming the arrival of the service person. Conclusion: This business is built on unethical practices. Lowballing over the phone offer then price gouging you once they arrive on-site. If you do not pay they gladly collect the service fee and move on to the next person to hustle in the same manner. They record the conversation to force collection, if your not willing to pay for inflated price, they most definitely will collect your service fee. No one showed up until around 9:3, an hour and half after I had initially called. The lock smith told me that it would cost $75 if he could pick the lock and $180 if he had to drill the lock open. He tried to pick the lock for like 20 seconds then said he couldn't do it and drilled it instead. I think he could have tried harder to pick the lock open but it felt like he was Just trying to get more money out of me. Ron answered the phone and I requested the rate of changing the locks and he quoted a reasonable amount and time frame of when he would be available. He said he could come over in approximately 1.5 hrs but ended up calling 15 minutes later stating that he could be over in about 30 minutes. Just like he said, he arrived in just about 30 minutes. He was quick and made sure that his work was perfect. Just as he quoted on the phone, it was the exact amount he stated. Everything went smoothly and he was very professional.
