Used their services 3 times, first key was success second key was made with a wrong chip and after 2 weeks "unpaired" from a car and the car wouldn't start. Had to call different locksmith to come out and a new key that worked great. Horrible management, tried making an appointment 3 times and the lady over the phone never called me back. At least she could have called and and told me that they are too busy in stead of leaving me hanging. These guys are incredible! Charley is a very respectful business owner, and when I called about getting a new key made he was so helpful in letting me know it was going to be possible. He said he wouldn't be able to make it out until the next day, and because I was going to be on a plane he was so accommodating with working with my neighbor to get the job done. There was even a miscommunication about cost and after I called he wrote me a reimbursement check for what I was over charged. First time everything went very well; however, the key he built me was not by the code and stopped working after 2 months. after that, it took him 3 weeks to answer my phone calls and when he came he said the key is fine and the problem is with the vehicle. They killed a battery and all the settings on the car and then stopped responding. I wanted an extra smart key (SKS) for a Toyota and the dealers want about $280 for a smart key with programming. These guys were $225 and mobile and assured me they knew exactly what they were doing so I went for it and made an appointment. The guy was in a hurry to get to a more important job on the East-side and when he was done he left the car ignition turned on so it sat that way for a day and a half until we needed it. It's a hybrid so it didn't react well to the severe battery drain. The morning we needed the car, the dash was a nightmare, nothing worked and the battery was gone. The 12V battery was down to 4 volts. Naturally Lock Doctor wasn't answering when I called so I went on-line and figured out how to bring the car back to life myself. It took a while to even get it turned off and did wonders for my schedule. It's tricky, but you can jump-start a hybrid with another vehicle if you're careful. I'm told it's not too good for the batteries to run them flat but it also cleared all the custom settings that were on the computer. When I finally got the original guy on the phone he claimed he left the car turned on intentionally thinking I might use it right away. Really? and made no mention of that? And he's the Toyota hybrid "specialist"? For a hybrid, that's the equivalent of leaving the car running. The 12V AUX battery never fully recovered and continued throwing low voltage warning lights and had to be replaced at over $200. (BTW, Burien Toyota had the best price on batteries.) I finally fixed the car and replaced the 12V battery but Lock Doctor said they do not have the ability to restore the custom vehicle settings. They also make no mention of that when telling you they know exactly what they're doing for SKS. Now the dealer wants $130 to reprogram everything the Doctor erased. Oh yeah, they're so convenient because they're mobile. They deliver all of this joy right to your door. Lock Doctor has been completely non-responsive in helping out with what they did. They might be good at a few things but their customer service was awful and when they fail, they disappear. I spent more money and time chasing their mistakes than just going to a dealer in the first place. read more

Dealing with cars is literally the worst. I had a gentleman named Charlie come and meet me with my car. He was so patient and friendly, worked efficiently and explained everything to me. Robert came and helped me. He is the owner. Couldn't have had a better experience (considering losing your car key in a city 500 miles from home and the spare is not a good experience to begin with). He arrived promptly, went right to work, was able to create a new key for me in a very short time. He explained how I had to use the correct key or the car would not stay on and, after a few times, would not start for an hour! He could have actually made me a key with the push button remote if I had wanted. Prior to contacting him directly I had phoned my auto club. Their only option for me was to tow me to the nearest dealer! It was a Saturday so who knows how long that would have taken and then I would have had to pay the locksmith part anyway. This was by far the extremely worst locksmith experience I have had in my 49 years on this planet. The day of my appointment I called NW locksmith to confirm my appointment. I was told around 9:30 a.m. by the receptionist that a tech attempted to call me. I had been awake since 7 and they open at 8. This was red flag number one. When the obviously rookie tech showed up he asked if I needed a key made. Since I had in the 2 days prior to the appointment left a voicemail, and text explaining I needed my ignition lock cylinder replaced and it would need to be rekeyed, I wondered why the rookie tech thought I needed a key? This was red flag number two. After 45 minutes and nothing accomplished the tech suggested I do the job myself to "save myself money". WTF???!!! He told me he "may" be able to complete the job. I asked him if he didn't want to do it, or if he couldn't do it... He told me he could do it! This was red flag three and four. 2 hours elapsed and nothing. This novice rookie couldn't even remove the lock cylinder... While packing up his tools he told me the "boss" would call me and take a look at it in the morning. I asked if he was going to call me in the morning, and this clown told me the "boss" will call you right away. That was 48 hours ago and no call or text.. Are we at red flag six yet??? I implore any and all who are considering using this company to reconsider and seek a legitimate licensed, bonded, insured, BBB accredited locksmith, because this company is not that. I will never even consider using such a horrible company who does not know the meaning of "good business"! In short, run. Called NW lock doctor today, the person who answered the phone sounded muffled and far away. I asked "is this the lock doctor" she sounded muffled again. So I apologized and repeated myself. She sounded rude and frustrated and said "yes it is, that's what I said the first time!!" I'm like "sorry! But the phone was cutting out and I couldn't hear you". I told her what I needed and she said that they couldn't come out until late afternoon. I asked around what time they would be, she responded frustrated again and barked "I can't tell you a specific time! They usually are at an auction on Saturdays and won't work until afterwards" I asked well what time is the auction over she said around 3. I asked if they worked Sunday she said no they don't. She told me if I call Monday early that they can get out to me. This whole phone experience was horrendous customer service. I used Robert's service about 5 years ago and he was an awesome guy. Unfortunately I took my business elsewhere and called another locksmith that had way better customer service. read more

Can you leave a business 0 stars? Because I've never encountered one that needed a 0 until now. Called her 3 times to give her my information and every time I would call again, she would act like she had no recollection of my needs. When I would call to confirm both "appointments" (because they will never contact you) she would tell me "Well absolutely no we can't do it at all today, call me next week". They don't even seem to want your business! I have never encountered a more frustrating business and unprofessional/ineffective customer service representative. My keys got stolen at the gym and after calling the dealership that quoted me for $375 and expected me to tow my car there (so probably a total of $500+), I had to think of a different way to save my wallet. I went on yelp and searched for a locksmith and after a couple of referral calls they finally got me to Robert. He arrived a couple hours later and did a great job. He was very focus and definitely knew what he was doing. It took about thirty minutes and I got 3 new keys with a new programmable switch for half the price that the stupid dealership quoted me for. I called and spoke to a lady on Thursday about getting 2 keys made and 1 key fob programmed. She said she would call me Friday morning and they would come to my work. No phone call all day and I tried calling multiple times with no answer. I emailed and called multiple times with no response. I finally got them to answer their phone Saturday and they said they would call me Sunday and come to my house. Here we are Sunday with no phone call. I have lost a weekend with having car troubles and getting my car to start with no keys . Poor business and lack of communication. I will take my business else where as they cost me 4 days and my weekend! read more

I was out running errands one day when, all of the sudden, the key refused to go into the ignition (an apparently common problem with some Fords). I called a mobile locksmith that quoted me 350 to come out and replace the ignition. Thankfully, my husband was able to get the key in and drive the car home, but after that, the key would no longer turn. He went and bought a new ignition cylinder ($80) and was going to replace it himself but we would have to get the keys programmed ($80-$150). I called Lock and Road locksmith to get a quote on getting the keys programmed and, after explaining the situation, he suggested I call Lock Doctor. I called and they came out within a couple hours, replaced the ignition and aligned it with our original keys for $125 and it was done in under an hour. They also cut a new key for us (as our spare was bent) AND reprogrammed it for $50. And they used their own part, so we can return the cylinder we bought. Overall, a great experience.
