Came here after the movies, it was super busy. Very quick service. I ordered a cheeseburger, rare, and it came out well done, very tough. I got fries which I never ordered and the cole slaw was almost pureed. My dinner pals were happy with their meal. It was so extremely busy I did not send it back and ate some of it. We decided to order burgers and when I saw that this spot offered gluten free options, we decided to place an order. My last experience was amazing and figured I'd have another great experience. Unfortunately, this experience was not as good as my first and it was really disappointing. When placing my order, I requested a gluten free bun and not the sliced bread. I ended up receiving the gluten free sliced bread. Initially I didn't mind until I tried eating and it was an absolute mess. The bread just crumbled apart and I doubt this would have happened should I have received the gluten free bun as selected. Next, both burgers were supposed to have no onions and they were full of onions. There were no napkins or ketchup in the bag when we brought the food home. The worst part was that my fiancé added bacon to his burger for an additional cost and did not receive that bacon. His bacon cheeseburger was now a simple cheeseburger. On a positive note, the burgers were very large and the patties were quite delicious. Really nice flavor and everything was still warm. The coleslaw was not good at all though. Not the biggest fan. Kids at the hostess stand are always unpleasant and dressed inappropriately wearing crop tops. Servers are kind of rude and let you sit there for a long time without checking on you. None of the staff smiles at anyone. Every time i have gone there our food order has been incorrect and needed to be fixed. One time they ran out of normal butter and without letting us know, they brought us this weird pink butter that was fruity. Food is honestly pretty good and the portions are very large which is nice. Everyready is always a yes for me. From the shakes to the salads you will not be disappointed. There is something on the menu for everyone. Best diner in the area. Eveready food is delicious, heaped and full of flavor. The coffee is strong, service quick. Once in a while they train new kids and the service is not like you remember. In the front of the shop is a large bakery with cakes, cookies, danishes and croissants. There's seating in both the front and the back along large windows. Today we came for a gigantic heap of hubcap nachos with sour cream, cilantro, spicy peppers and guacamole. It was excellent! As usual our service was fast and delightful. The food was awesome. Just wow. My wife and I have been here before and I am happy to report it is still just as good. This a classic old diner with the chrome all around. We were seated immediately and placed our order. I had the New Orleans Chicken Salad and my wife had a veggie burger. Big portions that were REALLY good. Then, for dessert, I had the NY Cheesecake and my wife had the Tiramisu Cheesecake. Honestly, this restaurant is probably the worst I've ever been to and is a shame to the existence of American diners. I was told by the waiter that all the wraps are good and they are some of the most popular items, so I decided to give the Wrapper's Delight a try. I was immensely disappointed with it to say the least. I got it with philly steak expecting something similar to an actual philly cheesesteak since it even came with cheese, grilled bell peppers, and grilled onions and it didn't even come close. The philly steak had no seasoning or flavor, the cheese was simply melted shredded cheese that was almost hard when I got it, and the grilled onions and bell peppers had absolutely no flavor. I'm not even sure how it is possible to make grilled onions and bell peppers that have no flavor, but they managed to make them taste like they were grilled with only water to season. The disco fries were also a huge disappointment as they were completely botched when my party received them. For a dish that is so easy to make, to just melt cheese and put gravy on fries, it was just horrible. While the cheese was slightly better than the Wrapper's Delight, the gravy was absolutely atrocious. It didn't even come close to tasting like gravy. The closest thing I can think of that tastes like it would be salted water that the cook spilled a small spoon of soy sauce in. I will say that the only redeeming qualities of the restaurant are the aesthetics, the fact that Guy Fieri went there, and the mints you get at the end of the meal that are next to the cash register. These mints are M&M shaped and taste exactly like girl scout thin mint cookies or peppermint patties. It was the only thing that seemed to be done right. If this restaurant wants to improve they need to cut the menu down significantly and get better at the actual popular dishes. Unless they do that, the meals they serve will continue to disappoint. read more

Your iconic Hyde Park diner. I've been coming here since the late 90s and to this day it's still a well run establishment. This place has also been featured on Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives back in like 07, which is a pretty darn long time now that I think about it. Man, I'm getting old... If you know me well enough, my go to diner breakfast food is always corned beef hash. This came with two eggs, toast, home fries which I chose to substitute with grits, and a slice of cantaloupe. Tasted great and was definitely a very filling meal. Service is fantastic. My most recent visit, the server was very helpful in making recommendations and was in general a very pleasant person to speak to. Wished there were more people like him around. If you've ever been to Ruby's, a chain of California diners outfitted in retro diner decor, you've got a good idea what you're in for at Everyday Diner. It's a bit like Ruby's on steroids. Looking for lunch in Hyde Park I stumbled upon Everyday Diner thinking briefly that it was an authentic old-time diner. Moments later I realized it was not, just made to resemble the genre. This is a problem only if you're in search of a true old-time diner. I wasn't. A fairly humongous menu covered all the bases of anything you could want in a diner. I opted for the Ty Cobb Salad ($11.49) and though the chicken it contained was nicely cooked, I could only compare it to the Cobb Salad I inevitably order at Ruby's, and found it wanting. It wasn't a bad salad; it just measured up inferior to the one I order in a similar place. So there you have it. Service was pleasant but slow enough that I actually had to ask whether the cook had forgotten our order. Once served, it took several trips for our server to deliver two spoons to our table so, like the food, I also found the service a bit wanting. Still. If you're looking for a place where everyone can likely find whatever it is they're hoping to eat look no further. Went in tonight so excited to try the place since it's famous and all... The staff were nice, food was quick..... But there were flies swarming me and my food. I kept swatting them away The burger had a slice of tomato literally an inch thick and the beef wasn't seasoned at all and the onion ring that came with it was burnt black and yet still served to me. With a group of friends, we came to a Eveready diner, and we each ordered something different. well, they ordered different burgers and me and my friend order different salads. And yes, that was my Cobb salad the cob so it was great minus the chicken was very dry and would've appreciated freshly cooked moist chicken. My friend said their burgers were really good. They order different sauces and cheeses. I taste my french fries. They were good and fresh and my other friend said they Love the onion rings, I do believe he said it was a bison burger. We had a great time. My salad was pretty big I definitely took some home. Everybody else finished their food. The service was good even though the girl was new she made sure to check back with us that we liked everything. It's a great family place to go and even though we had seven people we got served pretty quick. Okay, so yesterday, I forgot to eat dinner until about 2 AM (so is it breakfast? Brinner? Does anyone care what happens to food after midnight?), and I was starving. So after some appropriate searching for a place that was open and serving food (thanks Yelp!), my boyfriend and I hopped in the car and headed to the Eveready Diner in Hyde Park, NY. I am usually wary of diners, especially ones with mixed reviews on Yelp, but desperate times call for desperate measures. And desperate measures call for omelets and ice cream sundaes in the wee hours of the morning, which the Eveready Diner delivered in a wonderful way! We rolled up to the garishly lit neon diner and of course, I had to take a ton of photos before we even stepped inside. The signage that beckons diners in on a creepily desolate part of Route 9 is reminiscent of Twin Peaks, and I almost expected Agent Cooper to appear and order some black coffee and cherry pie right next to me. When we went inside, the diner was equally impressive and very clean. It's a brightly lit, 1950's-inspired restaurant, with ample seating in booths and at the counter, a juke box, and a giant statue of their mascot holding a huge cup of coffee. The quirky "roadside attraction" feel matches well with the throwback kitchiness of the place, and makes for a fun and Instagram friendly dining experience. Although we were the only customers and it was after 2 AM at this point, service was friendly and efficient. Our waitress kept the drink refills of diet Coke with lime coming, and our food came in a correct and prompt fashion. My boyfriend got the creamiest, most delicious chocolate shake I have ever had (I snuck a sip), and I even had to take a photo with it because it was so picture perfect, with a hefty pile of whipped cream and shiny red Maraschino cherry on top. I got a simple broccoli and cheddar omelet, which was quite pedestrian but hit the spot, and then we split a giant ice cream monstrosity called the Candy Store Sundae. The size was deceiving because it was so inexpensive on the menu! It's basically a huge glass goblet filled to the brim with vanilla ice cream, fudge sauce, and various chocolate candies. It's the only thing you'll want to be eating at 3 AM, I guarantee you. The staff was surprisingly cheerful and welcoming for folks like us coming in after midnight. I think we had some fantastic diner experiences on my most recent NY trip, and the Eveready Diner is definitely a new favorite! read more

Loved this throw-back diner with good food options and a roller rink out back. It was all decked out with holiday decor and a huge teddy bear that gives hugs. That in itself is worth the visit. Looked and tasted like cartoon meatloaf. The pita bread itself was well baked but dry, as they did not add hummus or lettuce or feta... or any other classic gyro toppings. The Mitey Bites were decent, they're about the size of a regular burger but you get four of them for the price of one! The burgers were well cooked but the buns were strange (pictured) and rather dry. The accompanying sauce saved the otherwise unflavored and dry burgers. Another great diner in this part of New York. These diners are much more upscale than I've experienced anywhere else. I had to try another martini with my late lunch. What a great idea - it could be habit forming! For lunch, I had the half chicken special and a cup of soup. Tasted great, and more importantly it felt very healthy. The waitress's attitude sucked, though. She was very dismissive. I could see the liquor bottles so knew they sold drinks. When I asked for a drink menu, she deadpanned "oh, we don't have a drink menu" and made no suggestions whatsoever. Ok, we just have to wing it then I guess. She was like that with every interaction.
