Now you know I love a good downtown Hallmark look and this place is that!!!! It's right off of Wilson street in Batavia and they have another location in downtown Naperville. My best friend kept telling me to try it and I did....on accident, but now I'm hooked!!!!! While Christmas shopping, my man and i decided to stop here for a quick late lunch! Whew! My husband and I both ordered the sloppy Joe grilled cheese and we were left in awe!! From the soft crunchy butter Texas toast, to the flavorful sloppy Joe with American cheese. The food sandwich melts in your mouth. Try their ramen chicken noodle soup too! The flavor will impact you greatly on a cold Chicago evening. As always, let me know what you guys think!!! read more

I've been hankering to try this place for awhile. We were cheerfully greeted whem we entered. All our questions were answered on the menu. The place is very cute and has a deli like feel. The soups are homemade. I did not order the soup, but the grilled cheese was absolutely delectable! I had the Messie Jessie with 2 cheeses, London broil, horseradish sauce and a side of au jous! The Mac and cheese side was good and cheesy. My friend ordered the Nakatomi with teriyaki chicken and pineapple with cheese. All served on perfectly grilled Texas toast! Yummy!! Then, we noticed something we just had to try.... Turano glazed donut grilled cheese!!! What a great dessert! The chef came out and checked on us. I've been to Everdine's a few times now. The have a very nice staff and an interesting variety of sandwich offerings. The dining room has a deli-ish feel to it with the menu board and walk-up counter. Everything I have tried there so far has been rather delicious. With that said, it is honestly rather expensive for basically fancy grilled cheese sandwiches. It is easy for two people to spend $40 or more. It's tasty and definitely worth trying. But be prepared to drop some dough! read more

Creative fun menu. Takes a while to absorb all the options, then there are specials. Broccoli cheddar soup is excellent. Love that they use the stalks to add texture and heartiness to soup. There is an option to add bacon. Great staff. Kelly, the owner, was busing tables AND checking in with customers. Very casual and comfortable. There are 5 min parking spots out front to encourage take out. Glad to see city of Batavia accommodating a new business in town. Thanks for the loyalty card, goal is to fill it up! read more

I saw a review from Turano Breads instagram and knew I had I to try it! 4 times later it's safe to say i might be addicted! It's so much more than grilled cheese, really good soups, sloppy "Jane" and sugar cookies that are to die for. Absolutely nothing I would change about our food! I got the Mostly Maui Wowie (grilled cheese with ham and pineapple) and my husband got the Eddie Mack and Cheese (grilled cheese with Mac and cheese). I spotted someone's review of Everdine's and put it on my watchlist. It only took a few weeks to make our way in. I pride myself on a well made grilled cheese sandwich, but didnt realize this place would make my creations seem basic. They have a huge menu with a lot of ingredients to build your sandwich. They also have 15 or so named sandwiches to choose from. I had my heart set on a grilled cheese and some mac and cheese..so I married the two by getting the Eddie's Mack n' Cheese. That went down way too easily. A hungrier me would have had two. I supplemented with a bowl of tomato soup, which was also delicious. I spotted at least ten sandwiches that I'd like to try, so it's fair to say we'll be back often. Cheers. read more

We've been watching and waiting for Everdine's to open in Batavia, and today they finally did! The space is bright with lots of seating. The staff was friendly and checked in with us after we got our food to make sure we were doing well. They have a surprisingly large selection of grilled cheese sandwiches, including several creative options, and if you aren't enticed by those choices you can customize your own sandwich. The Mostly Maui Wowie was like eating a grilled cheese version of a Hawaiian pizza, and the Sloppy Mack was hearty and a good choice for a chilly winter day. We enjoyed both. The tomato soup was good, but could have been slightly thicker and more savory. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu! read more

After all the anticipation of this place opening I finally made it over there to give it a go last week. The service was amazing I give that five stars but the food was just alright. Wish you could do half stars it's better than a 3 but not a 4 in my book. Totally fine for what it is quick and easy and reasonably priced. read more
