Black Rice

My cousin recommended this hotel for lunch after attending The Sherri Show. They have nice areas to take pictures, a colorful bookcase, a reddish orange piano and a balcony. Our waitress was excellent, a petite pretty young lady. I had the salmon with grilled mushrooms and black rice at the price of $35. It was ok and not worth the price. The salmon slice was small, didn't care for the black rice and mushrooms not seasoned. The tomato soup was the best.

Such a nice place to eat and hang out at! Super spacious with lots of lighting. The BEC sandwich was solid (but expensive). Service was great, and we were checked in on a comfortable amount of times. Overall, would definitely recommend for brunch. Expect to spend a little though.

Visited Everdene, the restaurant and bar on the third floor of the Virgin Hotel. It's a really cool space, open, bright, and well designed and decorated. There's a large bar, an outdoor terrace, and plenty of seating, from casual tables for coffee or drinks to larger setups for meals. Met a friend around 3 p.m. for coffee and ended up staying through happy hour for a light bite. The atmosphere was nice, lots of natural light from huge windows, a quiet buzz of people around, and no loud music, so you can have a conversation. There's also bar seating and a TV for a more casual vibe. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. Specialty coffee drinks and tea were about $7 each. We ordered the Wagyu empanadas (3 for $19) and truffle fries ($13, small serving). The food was tasty but portions are on the smaller side for the price. Our waitress let us know about happy hour from 4-6 p.m., with wine around $9 and cocktails $12-$14. Overall, this is a great spot for a business meeting, a quieter happy hour, or a relaxed catch-up away from the chaos near Penn Station.

Cascatelli - the pasta itself was perfectly al dente, but the pesto and peas combination wasn't my favorite

The patio at Everdene is a lovely place to sit and relax on a sunny day. We had dinner here in between broadway shows, and it was a nice experience. The food itself I'd rate as just ok for the price range, but the atmosphere was lovely, and they do accept property credits if you have them in your hotel package.

I really liked this spot. It was super cute and the there were many areas to sit. It's not high so the view is just ok. They have good drinks and the breeze felt nice. The couches are cozy and it is good for people watching down below. Our server was friendly and helpful.

Rooftop spots appeared to be the birthday theme this Summer of 2024. And Everdene located on the 3rd floor of the Virgin Hotels NYC didn't disappoint. What service! All employees we encountered were so fun and pleasant. We had a feeling of, 'happy to be there!', during every one of our apps and drinks indulgences. Shout out to Alex our welcoming, lovely hostess. And can't forget a well deserved shout out to Mr. Smooth, chill, fashionista himself Calvin. Loved both their vibes. Food choices. Excellent! The Hummus was one of the second best, non grainy, creamy textured hummus's I've ever had. The accompanying Pita topped with Z'atar, freshly baked, with warm light layers to scoop the hummus was an elevated combination of flavors. Of our selection of Salads, Apps, Desserts and Wines, there wasn't one bad choice. An additional plus was the night time terrace view of the Empire State Building (ESB), looming directly above us. It was especially memorable when the hourly LED Sparkle Lights displayed a flashy five minute show. The ESB was the ultimate special guest at our rooftop party. Everdene at the Virgin Hotels NYC is definitely on our rotation list if ever looking for summer fun in the NoMad area.

This spot is in the virgin hotel. It's not a hotel restaurant. Staff was extremely pleasant attentive parts of the restaurant. Have a very nice ambience. The areas with the couches are cool. The dining room is a little bit sterile. What you would expect actually from a hotel restaurant. The food is decent about average. They're very accommodating to allergens. I have a gluten allergy and they were able to accommodate quite easily. They have a decent brunch menu. On the dinner menu the steak frites were actually the best thing. Their fries are delicious!!! (Worth every calorie) I wouldn't come across town for this but worth a visit if you're staying here.

The place is hip and trendy, staff were attentive and polite. I had the smoked salmon bagel, it was great. I'd go back.

Came for breakfast twice while staying at the Virgin Hotel and the food is excellent. My only qualm is the service, which is not necessarily their fault. For the amount of tables the staff are overwhelmed. The layout is odd with the hostess being located in the middle of the restaurant, which makes it difficult as there are people standing where waitstaff have to walk. Would still recommend and would highly recommend adding the breakfast package if you're staying!

Customer service is good. Staff was very friendly. Beautiful ambience. Surprisingly, the food was great. And fresh. Seems a little pricey.

Rise and Shine for a delicious morning breakfast at Everdene inside Virgin Hotel NYC on the 3rd floor! The space is so beautiful, and we really enjoyed the food and service. Breakfast ends at 11am, but the restaurant still serves breakfast items at lunch (thank goodness!) We shared the classic Eggs Benedict with a side of greens, Matcha Waffles with condensed milk (must-order!), a side of Smoked Faroe Island Salmon, and a Petit Fruit Salad. Everdene also has snow globes in the terrace of the restaurant, with minimum spending of $200.

Jordan and Willington took exceptional care of my friends and I. This was my first time at the lounge and I was blown away. My friend has thrown 2 birthday parties in a row here and Virgin continues to deliver! From the drinks to the lighting and decor, Virgin knows how to curate an ambiance. I will absolutely be coming back.

Ambiance is nice here. The almost paradise drink is amazing! Love rum and a good fruity drink. A lot of bathroom stalls here which is great. Good amount of seating

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

They're experimental, whimsical, delicious, and worth every penny. My absolute favorite is Child of Light, and my BF's was High Frequency Device. We were sat at the bar once and were very well taken care of by our bartender, Nikola. It was a Sunday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. We chatted up a storm and he was able to create some drinks off the menu just for fun (on request). He also made my BF and me a couple of drinks to celebrate our anniversary too. Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. Tusk Bar inside The Evelyn Hotel feels like stepping into a well-kept secret from another century…read more The space leans fully into that Prohibition-era Art Deco elegance, low lighting, polished brass, velvet everything. It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm in the mood for a refined, slightly cinematic night out in Flatiron.
