This has been my go to place for Happy Hour! The $10 Cheeseburger is unbeatable and not because of the price. It's one of the most delicious burgers easily in my top 5 of all time. We met some friends here and the inside of this restaurant is beautiful. The hostess was very pleasant and happy to be there. Then we are seated with a waiter that has no business working at this expected caliber of establishment. He didn't know the menu. Struggled with the specials. Mumbled. Reaching across my husband to give me drink and food. When he could have done the right thing and walked around. I had salmon and when I ordered I was asked of course if medium was suitable. I agreed. Yet it came out so over cooked I had to drink water to help it down. My husband had the redfish which he enjoyed. First time here on a rainy Saturday. The inside of the restaurant is super cute, very aesthetic and surprisingly spacious. Love the nod to a coastal color theme! We got here just in time for happy hour. They have a HH every day from 2-6pm. Ordered the Earl Grey Marteani to start, delicious and perfectly light with a hint of lavender. My friend and I shared a few appetizers. We got the hamachi crudo, smoked salmon dip, beef tartare, and had a surprise gratis of fried oysters! Our server mentioned they were promoting the fried oysters so we were able to try it out and it was delicious! Batter was not too thick so you still tasted a good chunk of oyster inside. The hamachi crudo was fresh and delicious, smoked salmon dip was a fave (the chips are thickly cut and has a great crunch that we ordered a second helping of chips), beef tartare was great quality and creamy when mixed with the toppings (advice to eat this also with their chips lol it originally comes with two slices of bread). Eating here makes you think Dallas could be a seaport town for how spot on the seafood was here. The only issue I had was with the lack of true availability for happy hour prices. Happy hour is from 2-6 pm daily, however it's only available for customers who sit at the bar (not in the dining room), and the bar does not take reservations ahead of time, only walk-ins, so you have to get lucky with the timing if you want half-off cocktails and select food items. 7:000 pm reservation on a Tuesday night- This place is quite beautiful inside. It has the feel of luxury. Diners even look upscale, as they evidently have a dress code, including "no ball caps". It was quiet for a good bit of our evening as the place was maybe 20% occupied. Unfortunately they sat a large party of men right next to us for the last half of our evening and they were boisterous and LOUD. I could t hear what folks were saying at our table over all their ruckus. I think they could have done better spacing us out with no more business than they had. The atrium on had a couple of parties, and I suspect it is quieter back there when not busy. Frankly, I'm tired of noisy restaurants. It's not a diner after all. It's an upscale restaurant. The hostess and wait staff seem very well trained, very professional. 5 stars! They have bidders who will come around and collect unneeded plates, which I like very much! I hate when a restaurant leaves you with stacked up dirty plates. Not here!! They might even be a bit aggressive in this regard, and we had to tell them a couple of times we were still working on items they wanted to take away. Honestly I'll take this over being left with dirty plates any day. Moving on to the food: I'll first say that everything I tried was delicious, but I had some concerns. The calamari was super well prepared, and had some various veggies included. TBH... too many veggies and not enough calamari. 4 stars I had the lope de mare (branzino). The risotto with pomegranates and hazelnuts was outstanding! Such great flavor! The fish itself was a disappointment. It was a very small, thin filet. Not enough fish maybe like 3oz? 4 stars My wife had a hangar steak and fries. The fries were super skinny, crisp and delicious, and there was a LOT of fries! Her steak was generous- maybe 6oz, and well prepared. The bite I got off one end had some gristle and was very chewy. She said the rest of it was tender. It tasted great. I'll go 5 stars as it's always a craps shoot if you get any gristle in a steak. One of our party had the salmon and said it was excellent. It was also very large! 5 stars. A group of 8 adults + 2 kids had dinner together earlier this week, to celebrate our father's retirement, and we ALL enjoyed the food! Wow! Every single dish was delicious!! The Fish was lightly battered and hot and flakey, but the real star of the dish were the chips (fries if you speak American). These shoestring fries were golden, crispy, and delicious. Pro Tip - dip them in the tartar sauce for a change. Other stars were the oysters (ask your server for regions) and the grilled octopus. I tried a bite of the octopus, and it was the most tender octopus I've ever had in my life. I wish I had ordered it myself. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes! I didn't even get to the steaks or pastas. I recommend the John D and Coletti Royal. The burgers, fries and dusted oysters are just as popular. They probably have the best happy hour menu and schedule in the metroplex. The food was good. We had one thing off the HH menu; cornmeal "dusted" oysters. They aren't really dusted they are pretty heavy on the fry exterior but good and a good value. We sat at the bar and there were so many bartenders working; there were maybe 5 total people at the bar and 2-4 at a table in the bar area. We sat with empty drinks, empty waters, waiting to see if we needed anything, etc. They all seemed to be talking amongst themselves. The person who I perceived to be a manager, in a suit, was sitting at a table, walked into the bar, didn't even acknowledge us or our empty waters, plates, drinks. etc. He made a couple drinks for someone on staff or that he may have known right in front of us and didn't even lift his head to say hello. This is what disappoints me. The lack of attention to detail and paying more to go out and be served and we had to ask for service each time. This would be a great place if the service was more on point. Again, the specialty cocktails were great and the food was good. We also had the lump crab bucatini which was great and had a lot of crab. We also had the yellowtail dish. That was flavorful but I personally don't link a blood line in raw fish. Probably my go to place for seafood/Italian place now. the ambiance is very chic & romantic. Our waiter was okay. He had a hard time listening to us. He would say "let me know when you're ready" we said we're ready to order by he had already walked off. Then when we were ordering he made a comment that we were ordering too much & tried to get us to change our minds. That's for us to decide, he should keep that to himself. We did order a lot as we always do but we finished everything! My favorite is probably the octopus & the Tagliatelle. They were cooked to perfection. This place has quickly made it to my top 10 restaurants in Dallas. The price point makes it a place I frequent regularly but the food and service keeps me coming back! Not to mention the place is modernly designed and the chairs are quite comfy which can be hard to do these days. For starters we always get the mussels, Crudo, and salmon dip and chips. My husband and I recently visited Even Coast for a lunch date, and wow! What an incredible experience from start to finish. This restaurant is a coastal gem that offers a sophisticated yet welcoming vibe, making it perfect for both casual lunches and special occasions. We started with Oysters on the Half Shell, served with jalapeño-coriander mignonette, cocktail sauce, horseradish, lemon, and saltines, ultra fresh and bursting with ocean flavor. The perfect way to begin. The Baby Romaine Caesar was crisp, bright, and full of flavor with shaved parmesan and boquerones adding a salty, tangy punch. A classic done exceptionally well. The Cornmeal Dusted Oysters, served with crispy spinach and béarnaise, were a bit heavier than expected but still enjoyable with great flavor and presentation. The PEI Mussels were one of the standout dishes, tender, briny, and served in a white wine-lemon broth loaded with garlic, leeks, Spanish chorizo, and Basque peppers. Absolutely delicious. The Charcoal Grilled Spanish Octopus was cooked to perfection, smoky, tender, and paired beautifully with broccolini, cipollini onions, and a zesty tomato vinaigrette. We also had the Texas Redfish, which was flaky, moist, and bursting with Southern flavor. The creole sauce, andouille sausage, chile oil, and basmati rice made this dish feel rich and comforting without being heavy. To drink, we enjoyed a round of their Margaritas (light and refreshing with a citrusy punch) and the Colletti Royale, a sparkling cocktail that was both elegant and fun. For dessert, don't skip this! We had the Butter Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream, topped with strawberry compote and crumbled streusel. The cake was warm, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth good, while the ice cream added the perfect creamy contrast. It was a perfect ending to our meal! I will say this about Even Coast: HOLY COW! THIS PLACE IS HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST PLACES I'VE EVER DINED. Okay, enough with the all caps. I was here a couple weeks ago while in town for a conference and I booked a reservation for my team at the end. There were seven of us and we ordered everything: drinks, raw bar, salads, appetizers, pastas and mains. Everything was delicious. Let's start with our arrival. We Uber'd from the city out to what seemed like the suburbs of Dallas. It was a long ride out to the restaurant and we weren't sure trekking out for a meal would be worth it. I had sent the head of our division out to this restaurant a few days earlier and all we heard about it was that it was fine. So we were skeptical. So we started with oysters on the half shell (two or three people in our party had them) and they were over the moon about them. There were three different sauces for enhanced flavor. I ordered the chilled jumbo shrimp and they were huge and fresh! I also ordered the EC Wedge Salad and removed the pickled onions and the tomatoes and added ranch - it had dill on it which I did not expect and added another flavor profile to the wedge that I truly didn't expect and it was a very welcome change. The table ordered the crispy calamari and they said it was really good. As for mains, one ordered the Creste De Gallo (delicious by the way), one got the special Branzino dish (now I don't like fish or eat fish, but, holy cow, this was delicious!). one got the prime ribeye-delmonico - a really great cut, one got the Charcoal Grilled Spanish Octopus who said it was great (again, I'm allergic), and one got the New Bedford MA Scallops (also very good). Lastly, two of us got the hangar steak with fries and an extra side of the mac and cheese. Wow. Just. Wow. The food was out of this world! The service was incredible. Not only was our server constantly on top of us, but the managers/owners came by to check on us a couple times. Our waters and drinks were always replaced and topped off. Came across an article about the opening of this restaurant in the Addison area. While we normally wait a month after grand openings for places to work their kinks out, we heard so many great things about this place, why not go on its 6th day of being open? The interior is beautiful. Open and grandiose yet inviting. The hostesses are dressed as Flight Attendants. Such a cute way to add to the ambiance. My SO wasn't drinking that evening but noticed they had a No Fashioned, which is a non-alcoholic version of an Old Fashioned. It was absolutely amazing. Flavor was spot on for an Old Fashioned. Highly recommend to anyone that may want a cocktail but isn't partaking in alcohol for whatever reason. I walked in knowing we were going to order the Cornmeal Dusted Fried Oysters. I saw reviews and photos of them, and I said no matter what - they are a must have. Every single review did not do them justice. They have to be the best fried oysters we have EVER had. So tender, juicy, and crispy with the perfect sauce accompanying it. The spinach just rounded it nicely. The clam chowder sounded so good that I decided to get that. My SO loves his Caesar and ordered that. Both were delicious. The chowder was thinner than I expected, but that was good because it wasn't a heavy mouthfeel. I don't recall a lot of bacon lardons, but that is fine, as too much would overpower the flavor of the clams. I forgot I even had soup crackers because I was so focused on the soup. Definitely did not need them. My SO ordered the Fish N Chips, which is beer battered cod, slaw, tartar, and rosemary matchstick fries. His exact words were "these fries are like crack". He went crazy for them. Perfectly crispy, great balance of rosemary, and nicely salted. The cod was a single, large piece, and it was cooked to perfection. The waiter highly recommended the house made bucatini with lump crab, and he was 1,000% accurate on that call. I can still remember that flavor in my head. Pasta was exactly al dente, which a lot of restaurants do not seem to achieve. The cream sauce had a great zing of lemon, and there was a good amount of lump crab to have with every bite. Definitely worth it. We were both very full after our appetizers and main course, but upon hearing there was an orange olive oil cake with gelato on the menu, we immediately went that direction. That dessert was flawless. The orange came through and complimented the strawberries extremely well. The cake was incredibly moist. They told us they were East Coast oyster from Mass and PEI, but that was all. Should have maybe been my first clue. My wife had the Pei Mussels with Spanish Chorizo, Garlic, Leeks, Basque Peppers, and White Wine - Lemon Broth, and they were exquisite. For me, it was the Tenderloin Steak Tartare, classically prepared with Lemon, Olive Oil, Truffle Aoli, and a Quail Egg. It was one of the best I've had.
