We had the best experience! My husband and I were in the market for a used convertible. After narrowing down our choices, we fell in love with a 2007 Mercedes Benz SL 550 convertible. From the initial inquiry to our test drive, Sarah was an amazing resource. She provided the CarFax and promptly answered all of our questions. The agent we worked with was also great. Not pushy, and very supportive. The owner even took the time to come in and congratulate us. For a small specialty shop they were amazing and up front. We drove home with the convertible and have been ridiculously happy ever since! read more

I visited European Engineering in Framingham recently to look at a vehicle and had a very disappointing experience with a salesperson named Kyle. From the start, he was rude and unprofessional -- slamming the office door multiple times and acting impatient throughout our interaction. When we decided to leave, I politely mentioned that my husband would be in touch since they had already exchanged contact information. Kyle's response was, "Yeah, I won't be calling you," which was completely uncalled for and disrespectful. We came in as serious buyers but left feeling insulted and unwelcome. This is not how customers should be treated, especially when considering a major purchase. I hope the management takes this seriously and addresses the behavior appropriately. read more

2 day experience. Friday had a wonderful experience with kyle he seemed willing to help, we test drove it everything was good. he seemed kinda annoyed with us when we were making sure nothing was wrong with the car. There was an underlying pressure to just buy the car same day but we still wanted a ppi which we scheduled and TOLD HIM would be for the next day at 3:00. We were so ready to buy the car as we were just waiting to complete the ppi, we had also specifically told him we've been screwed by dealerships in the past hoping nothing would happen. On our hour drive up the next day with the ppi appointment scheduled, he had called us at 2:20, 10 minutes before he knew we were arriving saying they were going forward with paperwork for someone else on the car. Mind you we specifically told him what time we were arriving and the exact time of our ppi appointment. He sold the car from under us, with the only option of saving the car for us with a $500 nonrefundable deposit. He told us the car would likely not sell within 24 hours. We also live an hour away so not did he only waste my time, but played with my money as well, as i had to cut work short to make this happen. Not illegal, but certainly very scummy. read more

Be careful purchasing a vehicle from here. I'm located in CT, but found what I thought was a great car from Euro Engineering. After driving to Mass. to check it out, I ended up buying. Within a month of purchasing, the engine started misfiring. I took it to my mechanic who let me know: 1. The 'Check Engine' light isn't working 2. Faulter cylinders 3. Leaking radiator ... I had to pay to have the car towed back to Mass so they could address these. However, they wouldn't fix the engine light issue because they said that was critical to how the vehicle drives. So after expenses for a tow, I still need to sink money into a car that I haven't even had for a few months. read more

Nice cars but fast talking salesman. Make sure all figures are written down and you get a copy especially if you're not buying that day and leaving a deposit. My figure was &3,000 more on day of pick up. Also avoid trading in if you can because you will get a bullshit story regarding your trade in. Communication was not good ! read more

I recently purchased a 2017 Mazda 3 from European Engineering. The process was pretty smooth, and I feel like they offered a fair price for my trade in. They allowed me to hop right in the car and test drive it worth in minutes of arriving. I did have a few complaints in regards to utilizing my own financing and having to wait a few days to pick up the car. I had never experienced this before and was taken back. They did suggest going with my own if it provided better APR which was nice. I just wasn't expecting to come back for the vehicle. The only other issue I had was that the vehicle was not very clean when I picked it up. It wasn't wiped down, stains and stick spots on various sections and part of the upholstery was pretty dirty. I was expecting a clean car with a nice shine when I purchased it. Overall I had a decent experience, some minor complaints here and there but I would suggest European Engineering if someone is in the market for this style of car. read more

European Engineering is an old, dirty, and shabby facility staffed by some people with ugly demeanors and a disregard for the law. We urge people to avoid this company unconditionally. We found Luca Pignatiello (Sales Manager) to be arrogant, ignorant, and deceptive (see below). Despite the fact that we had our own loan in hand, he continually tried to push his own financer into the deal. He also couldn't quite wrap his head around the fact that we had come from Vermont to look at a car, not Maine, and that Vermont was a state that bordered Massachusetts. His attitude about some paint damage on the car which exposed the sheet metal was that it was "cosmetic", and it would be "insane" to repair it, when any yob with half a brain could see that it would start rusting in one winter season. No negotiating, no discount, no flexibility. Also lots of pressure to take an extended warranty, and a lot of reluctance to explain the full terms, such as the ability to cancel the policy if we decided it wasn't worthwhile. European Engineering also thinks it knows what's best for the customer, so they only offer one warranty package; take it or leave it. Further research into European Engineering revealed that it was an "unfair and deceptive practice" (see Mass 940 CMR 5.02(3)) for the dealership to have advertised the car without including their $399 "documentation fee", which they did indeed tack onto the asking price. We also found that there was one consumer complaint filed against European Engineering with the Massachusetts Attorney General in the last year. I hope more will pile in. Thanks to John C., whose previous post pointed us to the Massachusetts Code. read more

I bought a vehicle from these scam artists 2 months ago. They claimed they performed a service and everything was perfect. They also claimed that all Mercedes shift hard coming out of park. Turns out that was a LIE because I've had to replace the transmission control module and the brakes less than two months after the purchase on a vehicle with 40k miles. The extra key and ambient lights don't all work either. The vehicle broke down on the highway and got ya stuck for 5 hours. They said they would look at it to fix it... at full price. They knew they sold me a lemon that was about to go agave problem and then let me pay thousands to fix it. Unless you have thousands of dollars to throw away steer clear of these people. read more

The only place I trust to get my BMW maintenance at a reasonable price. Incredibly knowledgeable about the inner workings of international cars, without demanding dealership prices. ONE OF THE ONLY HONEST PLACES I'VE FOUND. A year ago, I had a check engine light come on and took the car here. They fixed the problem, gave me a heads up that the front brakes were coming to the end of their useful lives, and gave me advice of what needed to be done vs. what was nice to have at the 100,000 mile mark (their advice, surprisingly, wasn't to do everything under the sun.) So recently, when I got a quote of $1,000 to fix one frozen rear caliper (part of rear brakes) from a place on Brookline, I took my car to my trusted professional Tony at European Engineering for a second opinion. He fixed both rear calipers for less, and even took the time to show me what the heck a caliper was and how it worked with the rest of my brake system. Have they proven that all car maintenance places aren't going to rob you blind? Absolutely. And I love them for it! read more

My husband and I had been test driving X3s all over New England. While the car at European Engineering wasn't our top choice for color or milage, we decided to check it out since it was down the road from our house. When we arrived, we met Tony, who let us take the car for a drive. I'll agree with Katie that I much prefer when I can test drive without a sales guy int he car with me. It allows me the chance to enjoy the car and not focus on listening to someone babble. Once back at the dealership, Tony gave us a fair offer for our trade-in and was completely no pressure when we said we wanted to think about it. After a few days (and a few more visits to dealers), we realized that Tony had the best offer for us, so we went back to him & accepted the offer. No hassle, no waiting while someone "goes to talk to their manager" -- straight forward and simple. It took all of 10 minutes to make the deal & complete the paperwork. Most dealerships, you can wait double that before someone even talks to you. Tony & the rest of the staff that we met were fantastic. European Engineering is a simple, family-owned business that will be honest & upfront with you. I have no doubt that I will be buying from them again. read more

Purchased a 2000 323Ci about a month ago. A week after I had the car, found out that there was a fault caliper (luckily was under warranty so I had them replace, was a $600 job) then they TOLD me that I had a broken oil level sender but didn't fix. I assumed that this was a cheaper part so didn't think twice but after a recent inspection by a reputable garage, this part is $170. Now they probably knew this but didn't want to tell me. Also come to find out that I have a bad thermostat assembly which is another $112. So a month out and I am already in $300 in parts not including the few hundred dollars in labor. Very bad at communicating with you via email, phone, and even in person. Would not recommend. Update 2 years later: I noticed that my front bumper was chipping extremely bad so I brought it to a paint shop because I have never had that issue. They told me someone probably resprayed the bumper. Carfax showed no sign of paint repair. read more

I will never buy a car from any used dealer again because of my experience here. The Salesman Dennis sold me a car. 2 days later the battery died and left me stranded. I brought it back to him the next day to tell him there was a burning smell and he checked the car out and after 2 hours of leaving me in a building by myself, I track him down and he finally says it's a blown head gasket and that he will find a Subaru dealer to fix it under warranty and shoes me away. It is now over a month later and he has not once gotten back to me when he said he would, I have to email him multiple times to get a response which is always the same "I will get back to you". His last email revealed that he knew about the problem before he sold me the car. After calling the service center he said he would contact they said he had not contacted them. I checked the BBB website to find a complaint about Dishonest business practices. too late for me. Stay Away! read more

Without getting into detail, I will simply say that European Engineering sucks. I have dealt with them on more than one occasion, and each time they managed to screw something up; not to mention that the employees are outright rude and cold. I would never take my car here again, there are much better dealers / mechanics around the Boston area to deal with. Stay away from EE. read more

My son bought a car from this place. They told him that the car never had the timing belt changed. First off, let me say this. If you are selling a car with approx. 95,000 miles on it shouldn't you know one way or the other if the timing belt was changed or not? seems that would be a number one piece of info to bring to the bargaining table. For God sakes do what ever possible to track down the records for the buyer. They told my son they have serviced this vehicle and don't have any records of timing belt info. So knowing it is a priority on this particular car my son hires a mechanic to change it soon after he buys it. The mechanic takes it all apart and finds a brand new belt without a mark on it. thanks for the unnecessary labor bill European Engineering. We will follow up with this and repost with any new info.. read more

Had a great car buying experience here. Zero pressure whatsoever. This place is best if you are looking for luxury cars like Audi, BMW and Mercedes. Most cars seemed to be around 5 years old so they are more affordable. I didn't see any newish cars but maybe they have them, not sure. I would recommend checking this place out if you are looking for a reasonably priced luxury car. read more

Purchased a 2008 VW GLI, and fantastic car buying experience overall. Sales staff was great and the buying process could not have been smoother. The car was mechanically in great shape and overall the car was in excellent condition. However, in between when I looked at the car and when I picked it up a week later, whoever had detailed the car essentially ruined the paint. Every panel was covered in holograms and the car needs a $500-$600 full paint correction. I called Euro Engineering and they essentially refused to take responsibility for it. Overall a great car and dealership, and would have been a full 5 star review if not for the massive paint damage and my experience trying to get it rectified. read more

I recieved abusive customer service. I needed a repair just days after buying a car from them. Told to pay $200 extra for a new part, even though it was under warranty. Before the repair Mario promised to give me a product order to confirm he got me a new part. When I asked for it after the part was installed, he refused and verbally escalated and physically put his hand on my boyfriend, cops were called. My mother was in need of a new vehicle and came across a 2014 Mercedes GLK 350 from European Engineering which seemed ideal. After going back and forth on phone calls with Luca (Sales Manager) who vails himself as a kind and helpful person over the phone I took a three hour drive to Boston to check the vehicle out which had dings and scratches around the body even thought I was told it was in maculate condition. Drove the car for a test run and felt that there was a transmission problem. Mentioned it to Luca, but he assured me that I was in the wrong and there was no issues because "he test drove it". His voice projected so loudly and tried to convinced me I was in the wrong, insulted my intelligence, he was so concerned about his reputation in the industry because I was asking knowledgeable questions as I'm familiar with buying vehicles. Still managed to convince me to purchase the vehicle. I asked for a favor in preparing the car as it was going to be a Christmas gift on washing and detailing the day of pick up, Luca proceeded to tell me that "it will get dirty again on my 3 hour drive back home". As I suspected, the car had transmission problems on the drive home. Immediately called the dealer the following day to inform them of the issue but they didn't seem to care and told me that I had no idea what I was talking about. Mario (owner) was rude and arrogant and unwilling to help. Luca suddenly vanished and never heard from him again and kept getting passed around on the phone with different people that I haven't dealt with before. Luca has this dumb-ass gay-boy rooster looking haircut with a loud annoying screeching voice that enables a person to punch him in the face just to shut him up. I will never recommend this EUROPEAN ENGINEERING dealership to anyone ever again. The worst buying experience of my entire life after buying 23 personal vehicles through dealerships. Stay far from these people read more

Do not come here!! My car's computer system has been down and we towed it to the nearest shop we could find which was here. First, the guy takes a good look at it and tells us that there is something wrong with the fuel pump and it would be $700 to fix. Then we get a phone call from them saying that its actually not the fuel pump, but the computer system and it would be around $1500.. thats double the price they initially told us. My dad calls them MULTIPLE times and kept getting the response of " I'll call you back later, call us back in an hour" and proceeds to not answer my dad's calls. I called and spoke very sternly to them to try and clarify everything, get a definite price and to ensure the problem will be fixed. The answer I got was "We don't want to get involved with you guys anymore." This is when I knew that this place is unreliable and a scam. If they knew they were going to do the job well, they would've been more than happy to do it but I guess they know that they weren't going to do it well so they just got rid of us. On top of that, I said "Fine, don't do anything to the car and we will tow it to another shop since you guys don't want to fix it for us". He said " Okay, I will print the receipt and the only way you can get your car back is if you pay $220." Don't come here unless you have loads of money and don't care about service, quality or time! read more

I bought a car from Dennis here and based on that experience I would recommend avoiding this dealership. The engine on the car was leaking oil, a fact which was revealed during the pre-sales inspection. Dennis said it was because the plugs had just been changed. Several months later I had to take the car in to the shop and pay a lot of $$ to repair the leaking head gasket. This type of experience is probably typical when dealing with a used car salesman and a used car dealership so I'm just posting this a warning to the other consumers, buyer beware. read more

Initially, I was pleasantly surprised with my purchase of an Audi back in December 2010. The sales department at European Engineering was helpful and thorough throughout the purchasing process. When my car was sold to me it was explained that the timing belt and waterpump were serviced and replaced prior to purchasing. This was a major selling point for me givin the Audi timing belt problems that occur when not replaced in time. When purchased the car had 60k miles on it. Now the car has 78k miles on it and recently the waterpump started to leak. I had the car checked out by two mechanics who both said in their opinions the timing belt was not replaced, recommended that it get done, but could not be certain if it had gotten done until it was opened up again. With only 18 k on it, the water pump should not be leaking so I was proactive thinking that neither had been done yet. On an Audi timing belts are vital because if the timing belt breaks then you can have a bill of over $5000 due to the bent valves. Today , I got my car back from the mechanic who stated that the original belt was removed from the vehicle and the waterpump was factory. This told me that European Engineering cannot be trusted and that even though I have a receipt from there service department that the work was not completed. I guess they were more interested in selling one vehicle than creating a lasting relationship for years to come. read more

Bought a 2007 Mercedes convertible at European Engineering several months ago. It looked great when my girlfriend and I first looked at it in their outdoor lot. We put down "a couple hundred dollars" to hold it. While we were still there, someone else started looking at the same car. All of a sudden, we were required to put down $2500 to hold the car...which we did. We ended up signing the paperwork and paying the entire asking price...we did not ask them to reduce the price. Here's what my girlfriend and I had the problem with: When we picked up the car after it was inspected, cleaned and prepped, there were beat up rims and tires on it that were in worse shape than when the car was originally shown to us. We didn't fully inspect the vehicle when we picked it up because we trusted the dealership not to pull a "bait and switch" on us. The rims had been touched up A LOT with silver paint...mostly around the outer edge of each rim. We didn't notice how much touch-up there was until we hand washed the car and all the touch-up paint came off the rims! Needless to say they look horrible now. So, if you're going to buy a vehicle at this dealership, inspect, photograph or take a movie before you sign anything. Definitely look the car over again before you drive it home. Use your photos as evidence if necessary. Also beware of the very short warranty period. Ours was only 60 days. read more
