Gabriel was helpful and let me take them both out for a test drive. I ended up wanting the black on black one, but when we went for the test drive, I noticed the alignment was off and the tires had asymmetrical wear. Gabriel got the truck aligned for me plus 4 brand new Toyo tires! It took less than a week to complete the trade in and registration process. Definitely recommend them for anyone looking. read more

I went to Automax because they had the only low mileage 2025 Ram 1500 in my area. The truck bed was scratched up pretty bad and I told them I would like to have a small price break because it needed a bed liner and would also need two tires before long. The manager said the bed liner was $795 cost to them at Cap World and they would give me the liner for $350 - and no additional cost for installation. I called Cap World and asked for the installed price of the bed liner and it was $299. He confirmed it was the same drop in liner they installed for the dealer. Automax also demanded to do the financing with my bank even though I wanted to go to my local branch and bring them a cashier's check. The kicker was the documentation fee - $995. That is DOUBLE any reasonable and customary documentation fee! I really should have walked right then. When I picked up the truck they gave me ONE key and said that's all they had. So I have to pay $200 plus to get a back up key fob. My recommendation - shop anywhere but Automax Preowned! read more

I'll be brief. Just kidding. These people aren't serious about selling cars. They are waiting to prey on the ill informed and/or desperate customer. I inquired about a "2025" Model Y with 17k+ miles. The price reflects a false narrativ. The car was at the end of 2024, 3 months before the Juniper technology refresh for the Model Y. While technically titled a 2025, it is 2024 technology and battery. I reached out via email, offered a OTD price I was comfortable paying for this car and requested their $995 doc fee bee dropped to Massachusetts average of $500-600 for used dealers. I let them know I was pre approved and ready to move. Right out the gate, they try unsuccessfully to call me and then respond to my email asking me to come in and test drive. Nope! We agree on OTD price, then I test. You want my money, I don't need your car. I ask for the salesperson to address my questions and she comes back with the price is firm, doc prices are what they are and they don't accept outside financing. No backend commission from institution if you bring your own. I responded as follows: "I appreciate your transparency, [salesperson's name]. It's a tough business model: firm price, blind financing and higher than normal dealer fees. Given those parameters, I'm going to continue my search for the right vehicle. I really appreciate your time engaging and wish you the best of luck. Take care!" By far the worst car buying experience I've ever had and I've purchased many cars in my life. The staff was extremely unprofessional. While I was trying to buy a car, the salesmen were loud, joking around, and messing around instead of actually focusing on customers. It felt chaotic and disrespectful. After I purchased the car, I was told it was being serviced. It then sat at the dealership for days, and when I followed up, it was clear nothing had actually been done. No communication. No updates. No accountability. On top of that, the salesmen were rude and unhelpful. Any time I asked a question, I was given attitude and made to feel like I was an inconvenience. Went in with a scheduled appointment to test drive four cars. Very pushy from the beginning only want to show us one or two. We wanted to drive all four so they began to get them out so we could test drive. After the second test drive they said they couldn't get any more cars out for us unless we would guarantee we bought the car today. I told them we would make the decision this week but probably not that day. We decided to walk away. The salesperson approached my car as I was leaving the tell me we didn't have any "empathy" for the work that goes into moving cars especially on a rainy day. a week ago New I bought a 34K car from here about two months ago. Once I did the final payment it took them 8 days to give it to me, which is fine but kind of weird and inconvenient. My bad review comes from when the breaks started squeaking 2 days after I took the vehicle home. I took it back so the guy could looked at it "mechanic" told me they needed to shave the rotors, so they did. Well it was only after 4 days of having the car that it squeaking again. Also, the car shakes between 15mph-20mph. Took it for that matter, I was told it's normal since the car is lowered what a joke of a place. The driver side panel was falling off.....called they took car back in and oddly they had to order a caliper which is odd because they had the car for 2 weeks waiting on parts.....they fixed the falling off panel BUT it was an awful job. they got glue on door....was told by the rude guy in service that don't have to make it 100% because they did it as a favor....AWFUL experience and service. I bought a car the first day I was there. The finance person was beyond incompetent. My 8K deposit was declined on my debit card because the amount exceeded the daily limit allowed. I told Kim Haynes (the finance person) that I was going to call my bank right then to authorize the transaction. During my time on the phone with my bank, she tried charging varying smaller amounts - all of which were declined - putting an 18K hold on my account for 2 days while I ran around to clear it up. My car was totaled 3 months after I purchased it. I called 7 days after the accident to cancel my $2500 service contract. It has now been more than 60 days and nothing has been done to refund my money. I have called a dozen times, and every time I am dumped into her email which is "full" and not able to receive new messages. What professional has an unavailable voicemail to leave a message on? I have spoken with managers to no avail. They are only interested if you are buying a car, and poorly at that. In January, I purchased a used Volkswagen in Framingham for $22K. I am a single woman who did not have anyone to look over the car for me before I bought it, but I thought since this was a dealership, and I was assured by the salesperson that they would go through the entire vehicle and make sure everything was in good working order -- I felt safe about it. I also live about an hour away from the dealership, so once I brought the vehicle home, I made an appointment with my own local mechanic to do a used car check. They found an error code and three bald tires right away. One tire was "new" but missing lug nut covers (not a big deal). I called the dealership and they said the new tire would have been put on before they got the car, so the service manager offered to "sell me three tires at their cost", which was higher than my mechanics price with installation! Obviously a lie on the price. After I replaced the three tires at my own expense, the one tire that was "new" had a leak in the stem. I had to have that fixed. Then, the oil light came on. I went back to my mechanic and then they checked the oil level was 1/2 qt low. I am still not sure if there is a problem with the engine on this car! Also, the first few days with the car, I noticed the bumper was a little pulled out on top but didn't think that warranted a call -- then I just noticed now that the entire bumper is hanging off and unclipped under the car! The interior also had no rugs and the windows were dirty. There are so many small and big issues that are annoying with this car that I would NEVER recommend anyone buying a car from AutoMax in Framingham and feel like I was taken advantage of! In addition to the problems I have had since taking ownership, I also had issues when I went to pick up the Volkswagen. I had been in a car accident the prior month and was in a cast with a rental car because my car was totaled. The sales manager refused to let me leave the enterprise rental at their lot -- even though Enterprise offered to pick it up the same day. I was forced to drive to Enterprise, drop off the rental and then get a ride back to the dealership to pick up the vehicle, which took over an hour extra of my time. Very poor customer service. After asking about temp plates before the purchase and being told they would be able to get them, after the purchase they said they couldn't and refused to do so despite them being able to. This was important since my state does not provide temp plates. I told them upfront I did not have time to pick the vehicle up except a narrow window on my way back through next weekend so I needed temp plates, but they refused to help. I ended up paying to have it shipped after they ignored my request, I didn't want to leave the vehicle their any longer since I know longer trusted them. You would think for the $799 doc fee they could have helped process the small amount of paperwork for the temp plates since they didn't have to file registration paperwork since I wasn't a MA resident. In general the salesman I worked with was nice but the experience was overall very frustrating and caused a lot of stress for me and additional money. They said the vehicle would be clean but it came back with compound caked in the trim, what felt like shoe polish on parts of the leather to cover up discoloration. Google their name and you'll find they agreed to a nearly $1 million settlement for deceptive sales practice. I'd go elsewhere for a vehicle. read more

Scheduled an appointment to see and test drive a car. Salesman pulled up to the door with the car with a massive crack in the windshield which we had to point out (it was very noticeable). They claimed that there was no prior accidents, yet there was clearly aftermarket work done on it from an accident. The thing had mismatched tires in the front and back. They didn't want to negotiate the price any lower despite all these unlisted damaged that they claimed they would fix when they would have most likely charged us for. They didn't show us the interest rate or any other variations on the payments. The salesman also had an AirPod in his ear the entire time, which is completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Has been the worst car buying experience. Went with my gf to purchase a car for her. When we settled with a car, we told the salesman (Matt) we were going to purchase the car using a check from our bank. The salesman told us we had to use their financing options and would not be able to bring our own check? We gave him our quote from our bank (6.2% rate) and they tried giving us a rate 9% rate which did not make sense. Our monthly payments were quoted at $240 and with their financing options it would have been $350 with $3000 down. After telling the salesman that the numbers aren't making any sense and they were wasting our time, he came back and shook our hands and said "congratulations", we were able to get you that $240 rate. We then signed the paperwork and AFTER we signed, he came back saying that our rate was actually going to be $260 which made no sense as we had signed the paperwork for $240. He said his financing manger "forgot to include taxes" which is why the rate went up. I was ready to walk out but my gf desperately wanted the car so she settled for those payments. These people are scammers looking to sell and do not look out for their customers. It has also been two weeks since we purchased the car and we STILL have no received it. These people are impossible to reach. They never pick up so its hard to get updates. The few times we heard from the Salesperson, he mentioned the headlight was broken and they have been waiting for a new headlight to come in. We took pictures of the vehicle the day we purchased it and the headlight was not broken so I am not sure why they are delaying the process. This has been an extremely upsetting car buying experience. DO NOT PURCHASE WITH AUTOMAX. Very unprofessional and disappointing experience. Not looking forward to receiving the vehicle as I feel like there's going to be more issues down the road and it will be impossible to reach them. Save yourself the trouble!! The day I went to test drive it was fine and I purchased the vehicle that day but it was the end of the day and they had to detail, inspect it, etc. fine no problem. They said the vehicle would be ready as soon as monday. I couldn't pick up until Tuesday so they had 5 days between me purchasing and me picking up to have everything prepared. Got there on Tuesday after notifying them I was on my way from an hour away giving them more time to square things away. I get there and the car hasn't even been touched since I test drove it! We sat around for an hour while they "detailed it" when all was said and done they came over handed me the keys and walked away. I get in the car and not only was the car poorly detailed but they left my gas tank just about empty. Along with that a message popped up saying "SOS system limited functionality" the salesman who sold me the car wasn't in that day so someone else delivered me the car so I messaged the salesman who I bought from immediately and asked him what this meant. He told me " It's alright, tomorrow I'll get the report of what they did on your car. Maybe the just forgot to clear the warning" it's now been a week since taking my vehicle home and I have yet to get a response on this. To add, I get home and as my family is looking at my new car they notice the lettering missing on the back of the car? Weird after purchasing a 40k vehicle that you couldn't even make sure the lettering was in tact on it but ok... I have never dealt with such POOR customer service. Found a great car with one owner and no accidents. When I arrived the car had clearly been in an accident. Auto Max agreed to fix the damage which was great. We agreed upon a price, and went to finance. The finance officer was extremely rude from the start and acted like they did not want to be there. Handed me a piece of paper, with my payment info. No information on loan term or APR. When I asked what my APR would be she sighed and said 3%. I said Im typically around 2 or 2.5 and she said: "we cant do that." I asked the term and she said 72 months, I said I only wanted a 3 year term. She said she could not do that, but could now do 2.5 for 63 months. Now I knew she was lying about everything and she eventually offered me 2.1% for 60 months. I figured I would just pay off loan early, not a big deal. Then she handed me the paperwork and its had a $600 documentation fee. I've never paid more than $300-350 for a doc fee. They had a good price and were willing to fix the car but a $600 documentation fee is CRAZY. So you can discount a car more $250-300 more than other dealers if you charge a $600 doc fee is there story. And they hope after someone has been sitting at your dealership for 3 hours they will just accept it. read more

Oh my goodness, no. ACT I Spotted a car I liked online and reached out to the dealership to set up a time to come in. Didn't hear from them until noon the next day because whoever was supposed to respond to me got "locked out of their email." Not sure how that happens in a job that is 100% email based but I let it go. ACT II Took the car for a test drive. Liked it. I pointed out that this particular year/model had a recall due to a very fixable problem but one that could cause the engine to catch on fire if it wasn't addressed. And then that's when we went off a cliff... The salesperson said she didn't know if the recall had been addressed and there was no mention of it in the Carfax. I asked if I could go check the VIN number through an outside source to see if the recall applied. I mean, I like asking a cartoon fox for advice as much as the next guy, but I wanted an actual answer on this. I offered to put down a deposit while I ran the VIN number. Well they don't do deposits. Only down payments. "What if you put down a deposit and someone else wanted to buy the car?" poised my salesperson. Yeah, that's how deposits work. It'd be a tacit agreement that I'm going to buy the car as long as I'm sure its not going to set me on fire. She stayed firm. They do not take deposits... like every reputable dealership under the sun. Only if and when I agree to buy the car in a binding contract does that unlock the achievement that gets them to look into the recall that they're legally obligated to fix before selling it to me anyways. Then comes the quote which she hand writes on a piece of scrap paper and includes a $599 document fee on top of both the sticker price and the tile & registration. That's illegal. The dealer can absolutely charge you a document fee of whatever amount they want. But... per Massachusetts state law, that amount has to be included in the advertised price. I certainly didn't Elliot Ness myself and start tearing the place down like a speakeasy raid, but at this point I knew I wasn't going to buy this car, and they knew I knew something wasn't right. I said I'd like to think about it, and asked if I could have the quote that she just spent the last 10 minutes doodling for me. At this point she took the piece of paper off the table and said absolutely not. That paper contained "private information" and it was the dealership's policy to not provide itemized quotes in writing. Even the trashiest dealerships I've been to over the years have at least let me leave with a hand written 8x10 piece of paper with some numbers scribbled on it. The fact that they wouldn't give me the "private information" (read: the amount of money that they wanted me to agree to pay) was an enormous red flag. I have to assume this policy has a lot more to do with not letting the heist evidence walk out the door than anything else. She eventually conceded to giving me the CarFax printout with, and an approximate estimate of the monthly payment as the only information. I don't know what's top secret about this. They gave me the CarFax that includes the VIN number they just spent 15 minutes arguing with me that I couldn't have. I mean, I'm sure they have more lucrative sales than mine but this was a whole lot of work to try and Hamburgler me out of a couple hundred bucks. ACT III Go home. Look up the actual law that states plain as day that you have to include the document fee in the advertised price. We test drove a BMW we were VERY interested in and when it came down to make an offer the sales person would not negotiate AT ALL from the list price. So we said we were going to leave and think about it. About a week later the same BMW dropped by $500 online. A week later the same car dropped an additional $1,000 in price over the $500 so we emailed the company and my husband called an left a message with the used car person. Absolutely NEVER buy a car here. I'm almost 50 years old & this is the worst experience I've ever had. We had to call the dealership multiple times to make an appointment to see a car. It took them DAYS to get back to us. That should have been our first sign. We had financing already set up with our own bank. They refused to work with that. Registering the car was like pulling teeth. There was this foolishness with only providing a transit plate and a "runner" would meet us at our town Hall. We have never heard of such a thing. So I have a vehicular sitting in my garage that I cannot even drive! There was a snag at every turn. We live 2 hours away and had to make multiple trips. No, I would not recommend AutoMax Pre-owned Framingham to anyone. They do not care about the customer, only about the money. I love the car I purchased, but it wasn't until I took it to be inspected that I found out the tires on the car they sold to me are in horrible condition. Shame on me for not looking at this ahead of time, but I trusted a dealership would not sell tires in such poor condition. The mechanic I went to advised me not to drive on them or I will ruin the alignment. He also said there is no way I could drive in wintery weather without crashing. He hasn't seen tires in such poor condition before and was appalled to think a dealership would let me drive off the lot with them. I reached out to AutoMax and explained this. They are being extremely dismissive of my concerns. They refuse to do anything to help me. They've made it clear that they've gotten my money and don't care about assisting me any further. Please do yourself a favor and do not purchase from this dealer!! read more
