Place is run by 2 brothers who are very straightforward and helpful in assisting you in buying a car. (used/pre-owned) The selection of vehicles is not as big as a large national dealer, however they do have a lot of quality cars. Now the important stuff, price quality honesty . I purchased a mercedes c300 sport from here 7 months ago and so far it's been great (knock on wood) and I was pleased with the price for the mileage the car had. In short, nice guys, clean place, and a reasonably priced selection of used cars. read more

I purchased a 2017 Volkswagen Touareg from Rob at Continental Auto Sales. Had it looked at by my Mechanic. He gave me a list of things that needed to be repaired biggest one was the power steering pump and MAF sensor. Also requested coolant flush. Was told all the services in the list were performed. Had to wait almost a week to pick up the car finally picked it up at the end of November didn't have the car for more than one day. Check engine light comes on stating MAF sensor. Called Rob told him about the situation was told to bring it to my Mechanic to have it fixed and he would just pay for the service. I drive another hour back up to his dealership for payment and he tried to low ball me telling me he wouldn't pay what I had payed the mechanic for the services. After arguing back and forth I finally got payment minus 50 bucks for whatever reason. At this point I just wanted to be done with him. Let's get to the current date have had a car since last November with a chronic idling issue that was told was a mass airflow sensor. Have *Now put in New spark plugs and ignition coils mass airflow sensor. And taken it to the dealership for services as I purchased a warranty through him. Still unable to resolve this issue warranty has been "" dicking me around. Lost my vehicle for almost 3 weeks with no spare had to pay in a pocket for a car that I didn't even own for three months and had had nothing but issues with it Robhas not tried to resolve. So I'm pretty sure they sell lemons. Really think before you buy something there they seem super super nice and don't get me wrong I spent hours talking to Rob we talked about family kids his wife he seemed like a really nice guy but at the end of the day I'm short 20 grand for a car with a warranty that's still sitting in the dealership. read more

I've been buying cars from Rob since late 1980s! Very honest and fair. He stands behind his cars and addresses whatever issue.

I am very happy with the experience I had with Continental Auto Sales. On June 27 I bought a beautiful 2006 BMW Z4 in spectacular condition. The price was under market value and the process of working through the purchase with Rob Grenier, the owner, was seamless and very pleasant. It was worth the 100 mile drive. I highly recommend these folks. Top notch, scrupulously honest and caring team. Steve Paine read more

My family has purchased several vehicles from Continental over 2 decades. Rob and Steve are the best people to deal with in the auto biz! They work hard to make sure everyone is satisfied and have many "repeat customers" to show for it. Definitely check in with them. read more

*torn between 2 and 3 stars... 2.5, I guess? I purchased my car here following an accident that totaled my vehicle. I was on the lookout for a specific make and model and Continental had it, at the right price. My husband and I took the car, as well as a few others in my price range, for test rides. We decided the one I had come for in the first place was "the one". Rob, the owner, was friendly and accommodating. He allowed us to take it to our own mechanic to check it out. The car was detailed perfectly and looked brand new when it was ready for pick up. However, after having the car for a week, we soon noticed a big problem. Initially, Continental looked at it and found nothing wrong with the car. We knew there was something wrong, and suspected the head gaskets. In the end, that's what it was. This is a costly repair and Continental offered to pay half. Not the ideal scenario, but I guess they could have offered to pay none at all. I'm hovering around 3 stars, because the actual purchase and delivery of the car was up to par. I wish the car had been inspected more thoroughly to pick up on this major issue. The owner and staff were easy to deal with and wanted to make it right in the end. read more

I thought due to the positive reviews this would be a safe place to buy my truck. Turns out I was wrong. I purchased a truck last year. During my test drive I had mentioned a shaking that would occur after 50mph. Rob the salesman had me take it to Sullivan tires a couple of times thinking it was just balancing or tire issue. Sullivan couldn't fix it and so Continental Auto's mechanic worked on it. The shaking stopped and I was told everything was fine and my 4x4 was all good. First storm comes and I'm just spinning wheels in 4x4. I figured because I didn't have new all terrain tires so I went out and bought new tires. Next snow storm and just spinning all over again. I take it to a real mechanic (not a Tire technician) who tells me there was an axle missing from my 4x4 leaving my truck very unsafe to drive. My mechanic contacted Continental about the issue and Rob claimed to have contacted me numerous times about replacing my differential and I never came back in. Who in their right mind would not come back into a shop to get the work done if they were told the 4x4 doesn't work and by the way we removed an axle leaving you and your family to drive an unsafe vehicle? Instead of making things right Rob decided to blame his previous mechanic. If his mechanic did do this wouldn't you still want to make things right? Instead he tells me he will reimburse me $125.00 which covers the axle purchase but not labor and still leaves me with the original shaking issue which seems to cost well over $2000 to fix. Be aware when buying from Continental Auto. If any repairs need doing do not let them use their mechanics, find your own. Continental Auto will just rip you off! read more

I recently made the mistake of purchasing a vehicle from Continental Auto Sales located at 338A Main St, Northborough, MA 01532. The Grenier brothers, who own and operate the dealership, are either thieves or they are incompetent. The vehicle they sold me -- 2002 Nissan Xterra -- had extensive damage that was not disclosed, including: -Knock sensors need replacing-Failed emissions system-Cracked connector and lines above gas tank-Rusted/leaking fuel tank, solenoid, fuel pump, etc. -Bottom of the car completely rusted and painted black to cover damage -Broken air-conditioner The mechanic, after four hours of diagnostic tests, said that the car was so unsafe that, if I were one of his family members, he would not allow me to drive it off the lot. None of this was disclosed to me before buying the car, nor was any of the rust revealed in 20+ photos posted online advertising the car. Even photos of the wheels -- that are so completely rusted that the mechanic said they will have to be entirely replaced in order to do rudimentary brake maintenance in the future -- were taken at an awkward angle as to obscure as much of the rust as possible. I live in Atlanta, so I paid to fly someone up to MA to drive the car back. The car had been temporarily fixed so that the "service engine soon" light didn't come on until the car arrived in Atlanta, but it came on the first time I drove it. The car would not pass the GA emissions tests without applying the same short-term fix that Continental Auto Sales had performed to get the car off their lot. A week after the temporary fix was applied, the vehicle failed a second emissions test. To change a flat tire it took three men using full force to remove the tire from the car, as it was solidly rusted in place. The spare tire was so rusted that it deflated upon bearing the car's weight; when we tried to remount the spare under the car, the mounting mechanism broke off due to rust. When I asked Continental to take the car back, they said the 30-day warranty period had expired. (Unfortunately, I was out of the country receiving medical treatment for a month after the car was delivered in Atlanta. I am disabled from a severe degenerative neuromuscular disease.) In response to my problems, Continental refused to pay to have the car repaired in Atlanta. I offered to ship the vehicle back at my expense in return for a refund, but they refused. They did agree to repair the specific items listed above if I would pay to have the car shipped to them but this was an entirely unreasonable ploy. What intelligent person would trust a dealer to keep their word after being scammed so badly? I offered to bear about half of my total investment/loss in the car if they would send me a check for $3,500 and allow me to sell the vehicle for parts. They refused. If they truly believe that the car is worth $5,500 fixed, then they should be able to get that from someone else if I'm willing to pay to return it. I only paid $5,500 for the car but I am a disabled 30-year old and I invested over half of my savings to buy this car; I've now exhausted the rest of my savings attempting to fix and keep the it running. I strongly feel that I should have been told upfront that the cost to repair the car would likely exceed what I was paying for it. Now, I don't want anything more from the dealership except that they be held accountable so that they don't do this to someone else. My aim is to ensure that other consumers are made aware that these people are crooks. 1/29/19--Money transferred 1/29/19 --Purchase contract for the car was signed by Continental Auto Sales 2/8/19--Purchase contract was signed by E. My experience was almost exactly like Erin's, except I didn't fair so well. I got a real lemon. I then worked hard toward reaching a compromise and shared expense. A nice enough fellow, but they had the chance to make it right twice and chose not to. read more

I have to say I had the best experience with continental auto. I worked with Rob. I told him how much I wanted to spend and a few cars I was looking for. He delivered. I recently purchased a used car. I had the opportunity to interact with many dealers and dealerships during the shopping process. My search ended at Continental Auto in Northborough. Steve and Rob were way above the competition! Smart, pleasant, polite, respectful, and honest. As a single woman there are many hurdles to cross when buying a used car. My experience here was seamless from start to finish and left me without doubt or fear! Test drive - I took the car out myself. Pressure - none applied. Price - fair and without haggling, I took the car to my mechanic for inspection prior to purchase, he found a very small (easily overlooked) problem and gave me an estimate for repair, Steve and Rob were receptive and fair and we were easily able to reach an agreement about repair prior to purchase or adjustment of sale price. Quality of inventory - very high. Ease of transaction - Excellent! I put a deposit on the car the day I test drove it. They did all the paperwork quickly and easily on the day that was convenient for me. Would I deal with them again - In a heartbeat, and I will send my family and friends to them as well. Similar expierience as the other reviewers. After having my vehicle a little over a week I called the dealership to see If I could bring the vehicle in. I was told they didn't have a mechanic at the time and to call back the next week. That happened twice, when I called the last time they told me to bring it in the next week, one day after the warranty was up. I told them over the phone I wanted it in there before the warranty expired they said it was fine since I contacted them before the warranty expired. When I finally got my car looked at they fixed one small issue and basically told me the rest was my problem. A week after that I blew a brake line and my speedometer and tach stopped working. Nice enough guys though they seem more worried about their profit margin than making customers happy. read more

I was extremely happy with the fellas here with my car purchase. Everything went well until they recommended a shipper that they used regularly named UNITED AUTO TRANSIT out of Romulus, Michigan. I had an issue with the shipper where I didn't feel like their service was properly provided. I dealt with the shipper (that continental recommended) and they would not budge, had no integrity, so I disputed the charge on my credit card. They called Continental and told them I was stiffing them on the shipping charges. Continental never called me to find out what happened, or anything, instead, they refused to give me a copy of the bill of sale when I asked for it, until I paid the shipper!!! Steve even said something like, "We think it's pretty lousy that you stiffed the shipper" This isn't true, I did pay the shipper, which they didn't know and wanted me to send them proof. Its not the fact that the shipper is shady and lousy, that's not Rob's nor Steve's nor Continental's fault, but when they sided with the shipper WITHOUT EVEN TALKING TO THEIR CUSTOMER ABOUT IT!! I guess they care about their relationship with their vendors more than they do with YOU as the car buying customer. read more

Watch out for these people. They live up to salesmen's reputation. Gave me car auction low price for my trade-in (not even book value) and then put it on their lot for far more. Now that is deceipt! They also overcharged for car that should have been completely loaded and it wasn't. Never pointing that out. Buyers beware. I will never buy from them again. read more

Over last couple years have had the experience to visit several used car dealers. The experience is usually one that leaves you stressed wishing you had never set foot in the place. The opposite is true with Continental. Rob and Steve are two of the nicest most straightforward people that you will ever run across in this business. Absolutely no pressure. They understand the prevailing consumer opinion on used car dealers is negative, and they do everything possible to insure that your experience with them will be much different in a positive way. I am currently transitioning jobs, and losing a company car. I found a beautiful reasonably priced vehicle @ Continental that I put a deposit down on. Two days later I was notified by the recruiter for my new job, that she was able to negotiate in a company car with my compensation package. My first call after was to Continental. I explained my situation, and while I still would like the vehicle, don't really have a need for it right now. I just didn't want them to lose any time trying to market the car to another customer. They said absolutely no problem, and they would even give me a call if another customer expressed interest to give me first right of refusal. Could not have been more fair. Even if this vehicle doesn't ultimately work out. I don't think I will go anywhere else if I find myself in need of another car, and they are located about 45 minutes from where I live! read more
