It's been years since I have dined in this spot but we took it to go recently and it's still fairly decent, the burgers were good not as good as I remember, I wonder if something had changed. The onion rings are my favorite, overall a decent spot
This place had a great burger, delicious cocktails, and an all night happy hour. A perfect stop after the concert and before going back to the hotel. The window seats were great for people watching and our server was a doll.
I love coming here as the ambiance is great, the prices are super reasonable, and food tastes great. I've tried both the Fresno Fig burger, as well as the fish tacos here. Definitely liked the tacos more, but the burger was also great. They have good choices for their kids menu as well. I loved the fact that one of the side options for their kids meal was mixed fruit. Strawberries and pineapple -- the kids loved it plus it was a healthier option over fries. Win-win. Oh and I also tried their dragonfruit cocktail and that was also SO good. Will defs be ordering that again.
This is our spot for the best happy hour food menu. in mountain view. We tried so many new appetizers. The Brussels sprouts were so yummy. We also shared two burgers with fries and sweet potato fries. The tacos were also very good we preferred the shrimp over this fish. I like my tortilla cooked a lil more it was super cold and a bit under cooked for my personal preference. I shared we went there for a birthday dinner. Be prepared they don't care about birthdays here. So we haven't indulged in their desserts. Service was okay it was a full restaurant. We parked right outside free parking.
I've been to Eureka! on Castro Street a few times now, and it has quickly become a go-to. It's always lively thanks to the heavy foot traffic in downtown Mountain View, making it a great spot to hang out, meet people, and people-watch. The bar area is particularly nice, long, with plenty of seating, and a wall of TVs if you're looking to catch a game. * The Food: The Burgers: On my first visit, I tried the Eureka American. It's a thick, juicy burger, and even though I'm usually picky about pickles on my burgers (despite being a fan of pickles generally), theirs provides a perfect balance. It's $18+, which is a bit pricey, especially since the fries portion is a little light, though they are very tasty. The Pro-Tip: I went back on a Wednesday and discovered Smash Burger Wednesday! They do $9 Double Smash Burgers and fries all day! In the Bay Area, finding a full dinner for under $10 is unheard of. The two smashed patties equal the size of a regular burger but at half the price - totally worth it. The Surprise: The absolute standout was the Carrot Cake. The bartender suggested it, and he wasn't lying. It's surprisingly good. As you can tell from my photo, I couldn't even wait to take a picture before diving in. It's officially the thing I look forward to most now. * The Drinks: They have a top-tier collection of whiskeys and a massive rotating beer menu (just look at the taps on the wall!). I had a very healthy portion of an Old Fashioned, but the highlight was the Laughing Monk Belgian. It's crisp, with a hint of citrus, perfectly refreshing as the weather starts to warm up. I liked it so much I had to have a couple. * The Bottom Line: Whether you're there for the craft beer or a solid burger, you can't go wrong. I'll definitely be back on Wednesdays for that $9 double smash, a cold Belgian, and another large slice of that Carrot Cake :)
On a chilly Saturday afternoon I decided stop by Eureka for a beer and catch up with an old buddy. Fortunately, it was too crowded and we were able to get a table immediately. I was craving a beer that was more malty and "Obi" our server offered a sample of the Karl Strauss and Pizza (yup) Port. Both were decent and I went with the KS. Excellent. My buddy went with a grayhound and it was also excellent. A tip of the cap for then using pink grapefruit juice. Nice touch. Eureka is a good place to grab a drink (or bite) and have a good chat with friends. I will definitely be back. Now for the pic.
We stopped in on June 19 for dinner. Thankfully, we had a reservation because I did not realize how impacted the business would be because of FIFA/World Cup soccer. We came in a little bit before our reservation and had a beverage at a tall top table by the bar, and I have to note it was the only tall top table that was available, and all the seating at the bar was taken once again busy because of soccer. My old-fashioned and the lavender lemonade were both very good! I have to compliment the female bartender because for 20+ minutes she was by herself and keeping up with all the drink orders. Once again, so glad we made a reservation because when we were seated, there were only two available tables. The fried dill pickles were perfectly prepared. The barbecued bacon burger was cooked as ordered. Unfortunately, the fried chicken sandwich arrived with the spicy aïoli, but with it being so crazy busy I can't really hold it against the waitress because a "food runner" brought it to our table. We both enjoyed the fries and I did get a fried chicken sandwich without the aïoli and a side of mayonnaise. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious and I really liked the coleslaw on top of it/inside it. The hostess, the bar staff, and the waitstaff were all very pleasant, and we really appreciated interacting with Jasmine! At least eight TVs And 40+ beers on tap, not to mention an extensive bourbon/whiskey list too.
Eureka is a fun, lively spot with tons of outdoor seating spilling into the street since the main road is closed to cars. The inside is dimly lit and energetic. It can get a little noisy if you have trouble hearing, but the atmosphere is upbeat and social. We went on a Monday and it stayed pretty full most of the night. Service was very good. Our server checked in often, and the manager even stopped by the table to see how everything was going, which was appreciated. The cocktails are good, and the batch cocktails were a hit at our table. Food was solid across the board. The brussel sprouts were great. The ahi poke stack had very fresh tuna and came with good chips that made it easy to eat. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. The chicken was cooked really well and super juicy, just not quite as spicy as I expected. One thing to note is that many dishes come with some kind of aioli, so that is worth knowing ahead of time. I also liked that the menu lists calories, even for the drinks.
Came here on a weeknight evening and it was PACKED. Thankful the person I was meeting made a reservation, which is highly recommended! Their drinks are good but food, they hardly had anything for vegetarians. I ordered brussel sprouts and fried pickles as my dinner. Ambiance isn't bad and this would be a good pre-dinner drink spot but I def don't recommend this for vegetarians.
My boyfriend and I were looking to watch some football with a beer and a few snacks, without going to a sports bar or a pub, so we ended up at the Eureka! bar. Overall this was OK, though I know we didn't order enough to fully review. We ordered two hazy IPAs, pretzel bites and split the wings between the orange chile glaze and Eureka! dry rub. The beers were refreshing, but the pretzel bites were sad--the bites themselves were barely bites and there weren't very many. The wings were pretty standard, and we both preferred the orange chile glaze. I liked that these were flavorful without being drenched with dressing. The service at the bar was fine. We were helped quickly by one person, which was good, but I felt like someone different was checking up on us every 5 minutes (a little overkill).
if you like overpriced burgers and fries, sure I guess this spot is for you Food is just okay and it's just a classic American style restaurant, nothing really standout here Vibes here are good and they got a bar, super loud when it's later at night so it's hard to talk
This was my first time at this location. I went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated right away. I got a vodka soda splash of cranberry and it was made just like I like it. I had two of these and everytime I leave Eureka I don't feel too drunk which is good but I also don't order their wild child's anymore bc I feel like there's is minimal alcohol in there and more juice. I always love the brussel sprouts and truffle cheese fries! Can't go wrong w those appetizers! This was my first time getting the cheese burger and onion rings. The cheeseburger was good, but I do like the fig burger better. The onion rings were super crunchy and good. The campfire drink is fun, it comes with smoke when in a bottle when the waiter pours it for you and a toasted marshmallow. I do like the Santa Clara location a bit better for the vibes, I like the outside seating/bar there.
What on Earth happened to this place?! I've been here a few times before, just never got around to writing a review... I remember thoroughly enjoying my experience at Eureka when it first opened. I fell like Eureka has steadily had a downhill progression since then. The food took forever to come...simple order, just burger and fries; 20 minutes at least and it wasn't outstanding or great. I had to ask the bartender if the kitchen was backed up. His reply; "Oh yeah. They're backed up." Ummm....at least have the decency to tell me that...common courtesy I would have thought. It's what I would have done. Customer service is now an afterthought. #Burger ~ Double Smash - 2.5/5 This didn't look like a Double Smashburger, barely looked like a Smasedburger actually. Apparently Eureka is fully onboard the shrinkflation wagon. The sizes of the burgers have shrunk and the prices are up, the flavor seems to be missing as well not. The Fries were good. ~ Bone Marrow Burger - 2.5/5 I had this in the past. This time it looked like a former shadow of itself. My buddy was NOT a fan! Came here on Thursday after work for a quick HH with my friend! I have been here numerous times, both to this specific location and also the Berkeley location. Every other time I have come, the food and experience have both been stellar -- this go around my experience was just OK. We arrived around 5:15 just in time to enjoy their HH (until 6!). We got water and then for apps we shared the mac n cheese balls, spinach artichoke dip, brussel sprouts, and ahi poke stack. The brussel sprouts have been a fan favorite of mine for years, and I have worked to perfect this recipe from home too! Sadly? I found the brussel sprouts to be quite hard and almost raw tasting this go around. It didn't seem like they were fried at all and the sauce barely stuck to each bite. I was super underwhelmed, especially since I have had these brussels so many times in the past. Next to come out was our mac n cheese balls. I have always loved these, and this time was no different! These are the perfect size with loads of white cheesy sauce and fried to perfection. I highly recommend getting these when here for Happy Hour! The spinach artichoke dip was another let down this go around. My friend and I have shared this app prior, but this time it tasted like plain cream cheese blobs warmed up in a dish. There were a few instances where my friend and I would have a bite of straight cream cheese, no spinach, artichoke, or flavor to be found! Do not suggest getting this unless you enjoy eating cream cheese straight out of the container at home. After these three apps, we were still a bit hungry and went with the ahi poke. This came out quite fast and was tasty! I really liked the wonton crisps, and wish they would have given us more of those and less tortilla chips. Came here during happy hour on a Saturday around 4pm. Indoor dining is available in addition to the outdoor dining option. We opted for indoor as it was a bit too sunny for us. The table had a QR code for us to place order and pay contactless. I ordered the wild child cocktail and it was $7 during happy hour. I asked for it to be extra sweet and it was just the way I liked it. It was refreshing and sweet with a slight taste of alcohol. Only downside about this cocktail is that it is a bit small and had too much ice. Other than that, I highly recommend this drink! My fiancé ordered the cider ($5): it was a little bit sweet, not for me but my fiancé said it was ok. Our friends ordered the Bloody Mary and a beer both $5 each. Bloody Mary was too peppery for her so she did not really like her drink. No comment on the beer, but he finished it: Food: Grilled chicken nachos and truffle cheese fries were both $7 each. Fries were my absolute favorite out of the two. It came with a truffle cheese sauce and they offered additional dipping sauces so we chose firecracker, ranch, Buffalo sauce and honey mustard. I must say the honey mustard was my favorite! Back to the fries, they were perfectly fried and topped with crispy Parmesan cheese. Nachos were a bit dry and very crispy. It had a lot of toppings including chicken, beans, cheese, avocado, cilantro, tomato, sour cream and salsa. Parking: there was plenty of 2 hr street parking near downtown. We were there on Saturday for dinner and were able to get a table for 4 right away. Service was great, food tasted good but music was a bit too loud in my opinion. I've been coming to Eureka for years, and it's become one of my favorite places to go with friends in Mountain View. First of all, the food is great! As a vegetarian, I can attest that the veggie burger is one of the best I've tried. It's made using a beet patty, so the burger has a cool purple coloring on top of a great texture and flavor. The brioche bun and sauce are also super tasty! And of course, the fries are good too. Another reason I like Eureka is because of the ambience. I've visited with anywhere from one other person to a large group of friends, and I think it works well regardless of group size! They have both indoor and outdoor seating options, and offer some large booths in the back that work well for a larger party. The last thing I wanted to mention is the Hoppy Hour! I visited for my first "Hoppy Hour" last week, and thought it was super fun. They offer discounts on some drinks, appetizers, and entrees from 3-6pm on weekdays, and even have some specials for specific days of the week (like half off wine on Tuesdays!). The Eureka burger (and thus veggie burger) is offered at a pretty significant discount (30% off) during this time so definitely worth coming during Hoppy Hour if you can make it. read more

The food here wasn't that great personally for me but my friend said the burger was great. The whiskey flights were also good because they were very smooth. The ambiance was a bit loud but definitely group friendly. The floors were super slippery, I almost slipped off my chair because it was moving so I had to constantly had to reposition myself (knocked off 2 stars for this since it's dangerous) The best part was the service. Everyone was so nice and I felt bad because we left past closing time. read more

It was my first time eating here, there are lots of seats outside and inside, the mac and cheese balls were my fav, the nachos are not your traditional nachos but still good, and the chicken sandwich was really flavorful especially the pesto sauce. read more
A great place to hang out after a long workday on a Friday night. Good ambiance and they have "hoppy hour" from 2pm to 6pm every day so you can definitely feast on food and drinks without breaking. The bank. Food is really good, we ordered the chicken nachos and the double IPA "strike" 8%. Staff is friendly and helpful, they also have outdoor sitting. Definitely coming back! read more

Great ambiance, excellent service, mediocre food. We came here on a weekday evening shortly after happy hour and were seated quite quickly. I got the bone marrow burger with a side of truffle fries, and while I did enjoy the food, I found the burger slightly dry and the fries to be subpar, nothing to rave about. I will say, however, that I have come for the happy hour here and that's definitely a good experience, great prices, great drinks, great ambience then. This is a good restaurant for a casual group setting, but I wouldn't go out of the way to get the food here read more

We were looking on Yelp for a place to eat on a Tuesday night. I've past by here several times but it was my first time dining here. Upon entering, there were some Halloween decorations and the whole restaurant was dimly lit. We were seated right away. As others have mentioned, service is a bit slow but friendly. We ordered the cowboy and the double smash burger. The cowboy (4.5/5) came with delicious onion rings, medium-rare beef, bacon, cheddar, and a bit of barbecue sauce. The brioche bun was buttery and soft on the inside. There was barely any sauce in my burger but it still tasted good. The double smash (3/5) was a bit disappointing. My boyfriend ordered this medium rare but both patties came well done. It was dry and lacking in flavor. The fries were good, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Overall, I had a good experience here and would come back to try other items. They have happy hour from 3-6pm. read more

ZERO STARS!!!! Worst service ever. So i got double smAsh burger. My wife got fried spicy chicken sandwich. Food was okay. But service was appalling. Asked for straw waited over 45 minutes never arrived. We waited more then 25 minutes to ask for our check no one comes. I went to ask host to send to our server. Waited another 15 minutes to get server on the table. He came and I gave him my card. Then when he brings it back HE FORGETS MY CARD!! And on top of that he is drunk. Completely unacceptable!! Place was half empty. Not a busy night. This is not acceptable. Every time i come here the service keeps getting worse! read more

Came here for lunch and I would have usually ordered one of the burgers or the chicken sandwich, but was craving a salad. Why come to a burger type joint for a salad? Well came here with my coworkers for a department lunch, so yeah. I ended up ordering the Blackened Salmon Kale Caesar. I was not disappointed! The ciabatta garlic croutons had so much flavor and the salmon was perfectly cooked! Pine nuts gave the salad a nice texture and a good amount of Parmesan cheese. The Caesar dressing was PERFECT! Eureka is on a busy corner of Castro so it is great for having a meal while people watching outside. I've been fairly reclusive sine covid and this very was much needed. They have you order online on your phone though you can just tell your server what you want instead. It is pretty convenient but there are a few screens to go through. I started off with a $5 bloody mary. It was a little heavy on the horseradish but solid for the price. After deliberating between fried chicken and burgers, I decided on the 28 day aged bone marrow burger. The marrow didn't contribute too much flavor but the pure fat made the burger feel extra juicy. I asked for tabasco that cut through some of the richness. Instead of fries I upgrade to the fried mac and cheese balls (today was a super cheat day). They tasted like your standard mac except coated in breadcrumbs and fried. I'm glad they only came in three because this was a heavy meal. I am kind of hung up on the chicken tenders. I never order them but they look super good. Next time. read more

Is there a veggie burger option?
Yes, they offer a burger called "Veggie Beet." It has a housemade beet & kidney patty, house pickles, tomatoes, onions, arugula & a tart lemon vinaigrette. My coworkers has eaten it and they rave about it. Everything there is delicious!

How is it if you order a $17 burger the guy comes to the bar saying "did anybody order a burger?" at a BURGER joint -- every last person will say "yes" to that. Is consideration given to giving the customer with what they ordered?
