My friend and I visited here for my birthday dinner. The hostess was very polite and got us seated right away. The decor is very nice. I know there are lots of reviews regarding the loud music, but we sat right by the DJ booth and could hear each other just fine. In fact, I enjoyed listening to music while having dinner. Now on to the food. We shared the Josper Roasted Ocean Plateau and it was plenty of food for two people. If you like seafood towers then this is the way to go. I also had the Little Gem Ceasar and let me tell ya, there was nothing little about that salad. It too was enough to share. The food was absolutely delicious. My server was great and attentive. Love this place. The focaccia bread is absolutely my favorite thing, could eat easily 2 of them it's so yummy. I usually get the ricotta pillows as my main dish and they are so rich but not too much. This place used to be great before the rebrand. While the remodel itself is nicely done, the new menu is a big step backward. Prices have gone up significantly, and the food quality and selection aren't nearly as good as they used to be. Everything feels overpriced for what you get. One especially frustrating rule is that you can't order pizza in the dining room--only at the bar--which makes no sense from a customer perspective. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place unless they make some meaningful changes. read more

Watching other tables seated after us get there 5 course meals ahead of of us and we don't even have our first course. Long short of this rmtale, we were there 3 hours and got our desert to go. A 20 % gratuity was automatic for 6, which should have been 2%. The prime rib came with no horseradish nor au jus. Plus the worst piece of meat I have ever had. The whole ambiance gave toca madera, but Italian. Oysters came with Tabasco aioli which my boyfriend really liked while I enjoyed the cocktail mignonette. Focaccia was perfectly warm and fluffy on the inside while the outside had a nice crisp. On the herbier side but the whipped ricotta helped balance and elevate the dish. My first bite of the crab was explosive and incredible but didn't hold up until the last bite only bc the uni gave it more of an ocean essence that I don't prefer, but for that reason the portion was perfect. The steak came beautifully presented and the Gorgonzola add-on brought it all together. And finally the spicy rigatoni was just the perfect side for us to both pair our proteins. I was visiting a friend in Scottsdale and we decided to give Etta a try for dinner. We made a reservation a couple days before. The restaurant gets busy on the weekends and we had to wait almost 30 minutes past or reservation time to be seated. We were taken to a tiny table for 2 that was in between other tables. It was extremely difficult to hear each other over the course of our meal. The table also was so tiny that our plates and drinks were crowded. I would definitely ask for a larger table when making a reservation. We tried a few different cocktails during our dinner. One thing that's unique about this restaurant is that their straws are reusable and each one has a clever saying on it. The cocktails were handcrafted and fresh. We ordered the house made focaccia bread with whipped honey butter. This was a great dish to start out with. The focaccia was pillowy soft and the butter spread when all mixed up was both sweet and savory. We also ordered the meatball appetizer. The meatballs were good but the flavor was off with the garnish on top. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts and bolognese pasta. The Brussels sprouts were not good. The mint did not go well with this dish. We tried a couple bites and placed them on the edge of the table. The server asked if we didn't like them. We told him no and he said he would have the manager take them off the check, but when we received our check they were still on there. The restaurant was so busy that we didn't want to wait to bring it up to have it removed, so we just paid for them. The bolognese pasta was really good. The portion was a good size and this dish was spot on flavor and presentation. For dessert, we ordered the cannoli cake. It was fresh, creamy, and crunchy. It was a nice dessert to end the meal with. Etta was nice to try, and I would return to give it another chance. Some of the dishes there miss the mark and just aren't good. I was excited to see reservations open back up for Etta and went to check it out with a couple of friends. The night was busy, and while the food and service were fantastic, we did have a strange start. Upon arrival, we experienced an odd miscommunication with one of the employees. She made eye contact with us and began walking toward the dining area, so we assumed we were meant to follow her. However, instead of politely redirecting us, she kept glancing back with an unwelcoming look and eventually rolled her eyes, making a confusing gesture as if she didn't understand why we were following her. Fortunately, another host quickly stepped in, guided us to our table just a few feet away, and turned the situation around. Our server, Kenny, was phenomenal. He made excellent recommendations, answered our questions thoroughly, and really enhanced our experience. I loved my crusted filet, and my friends raved about the rigatoni. We also ordered two rounds of the focaccia - the new recipe is even better than before! They were kind enough to prepare one rigatoni without pancetta for my vegetarian friend, which was a thoughtful touch. Lastly, order the tiramisu. Just trust me. We stopped in to Etta around 7:30 pm on a Wednesday which happens to be Wine Wednesday. We were seated near the kitchen (is this becoming a theme?) but at least it was in a booth. The inside has two bar areas, one separated by windows from the main dining area and the other in the main dining room. The interior is quite pretty. It took a good couple of minutes before we were approached and offered water. We also took part in the half off wine as the server said we could cork it and leave with it if we didn't finish it. I liked their wine list. Their menu was not what I expected. They offer salads, pizzas, 4 Italian dishes, and then some random dishes like French dip and a crispy chicken sandwich. No real theme, but options for everyone. I had heard that etta was pricey so I was not too shocked by the $17 drinks- but I also didn't order one. I thought the food choices were pretty fairly priced for the area. We started with the beet salad and it was superb! The fresh beets with midnight moon cheese (whatever that is) is straight from heaven. Worth the $12 and I think we were both sorry we had agreed to share it, as it really was too tasty to share. For a main course I ordered the mushroom pizza. I like mushrooms, but I don't love them. But this pizza! It made no sense at all with how good it was. And for $22 it was enough for two. I took half of it home. Our server put my leftovers in a plastic container instead of a pizza box which I did not appreciate. I don't like soggy leftovers. My dinner mate ordered the farm greens salad and said it was delicious. I will be back for more pizza. read more

I've been here a couple of times for lunch and happy hour. We sat in the bar area every time The drink menu is fantastic .. on my recent visit I had the bad hombre with the volcano salt rim.. carrot, habanero agave & lime, so refreshing.. when the drink is placed in front of you the dehydrated lime is set on fire and as the alcohol burns off it leaves behind a lime scent you enjoy with each sip. Yum!! They have a decent wine list and full bar. The happy hour/lunch menu is short but there are plenty of options to choose from. The pizzas are a fan favorite for happy hour. A salad (Ceasar or Brussel sprout) and pizza are perfect to share, add some bubbling shrimp or meatballs for a real treat. I'll be back for brunch .. they have challah French toast with bourbon toffee sauce and ... then again for dinner so I can try the grilled branzino. Service is good, plenty of bar seating including table seating, big dining room and patio seating with misters. What a phenomenal experience! From the genuinely polite hostess (a rarity these days!) to our friendly yet professional server, Brian, everything at Etta was exceptional. Brian struck the perfect balance of attentiveness for a date night--never pushy, never overselling, just warm, knowledgeable, and present when needed. The service was terrible, it was like 30 degrees hotter inside than outside, three of us were literally sweating, the food was mediocre at best (mine was cold and lacked flavor, my daughter's was burnt). We tried to eat here not long ago. We'd been several times before the makeover and went back early one evening with our 10 year old. It was 6:30pm and the music was so loud, it gave nightclub vibes. After we were seated, we asked them to turn the music down as it was so distracting we couldn't even hear ourselves speak to one another. It was still light outside but like the management was for some reason dying for it to be 10:30 already. Overall, the staff was pretty out of touch with the hour and day of the week and not very interested in how their diners felt. One server acknowledged the sound level. Mngmt acted annoyed. I've been to etta twice, the first time before its food scandal and the second time after the scandal. I was so excited to check this place out at first because the pictures on Yelp looked chick and modern. My partner and I sat in the courtyard seats. The vibe was great with the natural lights, plants, and retro colors. We had their brunch food, such as scrambled eggs, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and espresso martini. The food was good with fresh ingredients and beautiful presentations. The second time that I went there I was with my friend. I wanted to check out their non-brunch food but they only have brunch food during the day on the weekends. So I had the breakfast sandwich again with a spicy margarita. The cocktail was good, strong, and well-balanced. The food ingredients were fresh and the taste was good overall. I think the price wise this place is on the higher end with a relatively smaller portion of food. The food taste was good but it was not too special that I'd be willing to pay extra. The decor and ambiance of the place were great though, especially if you are doing a birthday party or a girls' hang out. The service here was great too.
