We have been coming here for a long time, but unfortunately, this will be our last visit. Many people have advised me to stay away, claiming the place is overhyped and that there are better options available. However, every time we visited in the past, we had a great experience--until this last visit. We made a reservation for 7:45 PM but didn't get seated until 8:30 PM. While this isn't terrible, it can be challenging when you have a little one with you, but it's to be expected as a parent. Once we were at our table, we ordered drinks and food for the kids. My wife ordered a cocktail, and I opted for an Old Fashioned. The kids ordered pasta and a cheese pizza. This is when things started to go downhill. The pasta was okay, but the pizza had a few hairs on it--more than one, in fact. This made us uncomfortable, so we informed the waiter, and they addressed the issue promptly. As we waited for the new pizza, our drinks arrived, and they were nicely presented. However, while sipping my Old Fashioned, I noticed something unusual in my drink--Tajin. Curious, I asked the waiter if this was a special variation of the Old Fashioned. She replied no, so I pointed out the issue in my glass, and she confirmed she saw the Tajin as well. I felt she was treating it as if it was acceptable, which it clearly wasn't, so I looked at her, signaling that I would like a new drink. (I wish I had taken pictures.) Following that, our main dishes started to arrive. My wife ordered a wagyu steak, and I had the pork loin. Unfortunately, we began to analyze everything after the earlier mishaps, and the vibe of the experience was completely lost. We were seated in the back since we were a larger party, which was a little disappointing - the front area felt much more lively. We didn't realize we could request seating closer to the front, but to their credit, they did turn the music up a bit, which helped the atmosphere. The service was okay - not bad, but a little on the mediocre side. That said, the food definitely made up for it. The Wagyu steak was absolutely delicious, and the appetizers were solid as well. For the Wagyu, there was too much sauce on it and you couldn't taste the original meat flavor of wagyu, and it didn't even taste like wagyu! It was a wonderful way to spend the day, and a nice way to end the year. Sitting at the bar, gave us front row seats to the art of bartending when there is a full staff on hand. My dining companion had the Dry Aged New York with a side of Hearth roasted carrots and said he couldn't wait to come back and have it again. This time instead of a side booth we had a table on the floor in the back, didn't love it. It was also very loud. Ran into the same issue with ordering. Our server made us give our entire order right away. You aren't allowed to put in appetizers and then your entrees after. It really annoyed our group!!! We all ordered dirty martinis and they came in very tiny rock glasses, odd choice of glassware and not worth the price. We ordered the flaming burrata, house baked focaccia, and oysters to start. My friends and I had reservations for brunch here last Saturday at 1:30pm. Place is easy to find and there is valet right out front ($15, not complimentary!). We were seated right away near the dj. My spicy rigatoni had really good flavor but I would say it is way overpriced for a pasta with no meat. My friend's ocean plateau looked fresh and delicious. I didn't really want to pick at theirs but did try a few mussels since they couldn't finish it and it tasted pretty good. I had been here once before and really enjoyed the food and drinks, so I came back with a group for my birthday. Decided to try one of the theatrical drinks to celebrate. The Secret Garden Box was beautiful and pretty cool with the fog/smokiness, but honestly it was not worth it. You get to choose from one of two cocktails that are already on the menu. The props are only there for like a minute then taken away. I thought they would leave it there to be admired for a bit longer. The cocktail was good and didn't need the theatrics and up-charge. For food, the Flaming Burrata is a must-try. They light it up at the table, and it adds a nice smokiness to the burrata. My favorite main dishes are the Spicy Rigatoni and Grilled Iberico Pork. I've had both twice now, and the flavors were consistent. A friend recommended the Ricotta Pillows, which were so good! Light, fluffy, and airy. The Uni Roasted King Crab had great flavor, but it's not something I'd typically order. The Lobster Gnochetti was collectively our least favorite. Something was just off with the tomato sauce flavor. The restaurant provided a free birthday dessert with a beautiful red presentation. I was surprised that there was a bit of cake hidden inside of the whipped cream. Despite our party of four having a mediocre experience there awhile back, I heard they made some changes and I was optimistic it would be great. My friend who made the reservation texted us that day and shared that etta has a dress code. I was wearing a blouse and jeans that day, and I had a hoodie as it was chilly out, so I was unsure if I'd make the cut. Luckily, I guess I passed the dress code although I didn't get the warmest welcome from the hostess stand when I checked in. We were seated once our party arrived and service from Taylor was good. The restaurant does have fun, classy, celebratory vibes and our booth was comfortable. The food was once again underwhelming - especially for the extremely high prices. We shared a melted burrata appetizer, which was unique and kind of fun to see it melt, and I had the salmon entree, friends had the roasted half chicken and the chicken parm. We also shared fries and asparagus. The fries were the best part. My brother went the next night and he said the food he and his friends was also mediocre at best. I don't remember the name of the drinks but promise you they were good. For entree's I chose the Pasta and my husband got the steak. The food was so good! Visited Etta with friends for brunch recently and had a great experience. The front entrance has a cute "Etta" floral sign which is great to snap a pic or a few selfies. The inside reminds of Tulum, light, airy, and some greenery. I love that they have a Dj during brunch as well. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Came by on a Monday evening for an anniversary dinner. It was our first time back since they've renovated. Love what they did with the place. We were seated immediately as we already had reservations. Menu had a nice variety of options. Started off with the flaming burrata and the Caesar salad. Both were great and the Caesar now has a special place in my heart. The ribeye, ricotta pillows, uni roasted king crab, and sides all came out at shortly after our starters. Everything looked amazing. I usually come here for dinner (which I love) but decided to try their brunch this past weekend. I ordered the eggs in purgatory and it's basically a shakshouka. I quite enjoyed it, but did wish there was some protein besides eggs to go with it. The texture ends up just being eggs with a tomato soup. My bf got the grand slam pizza which I thought was delicious! A little heavy on the runny eggs but all the flavors were great! We also ordered the monkey bread, which I don't really recommend. The grilled onions on top gave it some flare. The whipped ricotta was okay. I ordered the scallops and I did enjoy this. I'm usually a pasta girl but the scallops called me today and didn't disappoint. Scallops were nicely seared with a crust. It was served over cut up green beans, cannellini beans, few plantain chips and a sweet sauce I couldn't put a finger on. Overall great flavor 9.5/10. I also had the pretty lies cocktail, spicy and packed with flavor. My husband ordered the branzino I didn't try this but it looked fab! He's had this before and said it's the best thing on the menu - he's a picky person so that's a lot coming from him. What worked: * The side of green beans and puréed potatoes were excellent--easily a 10/10. * The wagyu meatball starter was flavorful and a highlight of the meal. Where it missed: * The server couldn't seem to keep are beverages (esp water) from running dry * The chicken parm looked great but tasted flat. The crust was overly thick, and the sauce lacked depth. The pasta on the side was unfortunately overcooked. * The aged ribeye was cooked inconsistently--some bites great, others not--which left it at about a 3.5/5. * The other pasta dishes our family ordered were just average, nothing memorable. I ordered the salmon dish because she claimed it was the best in the valley, but it was far from it--dry, lukewarm, and lacking in salt. The pomodoro pasta was cold and bland. Our waitress noticed that I didn't eat any of my pasta but didn't bother to ask why. For a $46 salmon and a $30 pasta, I expected something incredible, but it was underwhelming and disappointing. I've been wanting to try Etta ever since they revamped their concept, and wow, what an upgrade. The atmosphere is stylish and feels noticeably more upscale. They have two beautiful bar areas: one at the entryway and another inside the main dining room. The menu offers a variety of seafood, steak, and chicken, but we went for their pasta dishes. I had the Ricotta Pillows with truffle and black pepper, airy, fluffy gnocchi-style pasta, but even lighter than traditional gnocchi, if you can believe it. They truly lived up to the name. It felt like my taste buds were dreaming on soft pillows of ricotta heaven. My husband went with the spicy rigatoni with pancetta and Calabrian chile, which gave it a nice, subtle kick. They also offer a great selection of Italian wines by the glass and bottle to pair with the food. For dessert, we shared a delicious carrot cake with creamy frosting. The frosting truly made the cake in my opinion. We also had a sweet yet tart lemon meringue pie that was absolutely spectacular. The service was excellent. When we checked in for our reservation, our wait time was only about 10-15 minutes. As we were being shown to our table, I couldn't believe how spacious the restaurant is. The decor is glam and tastefully done. They also have a dj that made the atmosphere that much more lively. As soon as we were seated, we were greeted by Hailey who more than took care of us during our experience. The menu is impressive and we had a hard time deciding what to eat. We started off the meal with the fire baked focaccia and the ricotta pillows, followed by the chicken a la Raj, the hearth grilled branzino, and a side of the potato puree. Warning , although the menu does not say it, the branzino is the whole fish and it was a lot for one person. The food was delicious. We could not decide on dessert, so we chose the tiramisu cheesecake, the carrot cake as well as the lemon tart. Each and every dessert was mouth watering and for someone that is not a huge fan of tiramisu, I could not stop eating the cheesecake. We asked for medium rare and what we got was medium rare plus plus. The pillows were out of this world. The pimento was OK not as creamy as I thought it would be more grainy. The only problem is the music is so extremely loud for dinner time you cannot hear who you are having dinner with at all. You guys should start using larger water glasses so that our tables are not interrupted every five minutes refilling a tiny glass.
