We took the mixology class at the bar in T Cook's, which is $50 per person or complimentary if you're staying at the hotel. Our bartender, Andrew, had 26 years of bartending experience and gave us a great overview of the standard process for making drinks. He was very friendly, engaging, and thorough. We made the Orange Grove cocktail, which pays homage to the fact that this hotel was built on an orange grove. It actually also used to be a private residence back in the day. For you history buffs, there is a history tour that you can also take through the hotel. We learned that a bit of Angostura bitters mixed with soda is a helpful hangover cure and that their most expensive liquor on property is Louis XIII Cognac, which costs about $4,000 per bottle and $500 for a one-ounce pour. The bottle itself is apparently worth $500 when empty as it's made out of crystal. We ordered a side of fries and wings on happy hour, which is daily from 4-6pm. The fries tasted like Arby's fries but weren't curly. It took a while for them to be made for some reason. The wings were big and soft, and I wasn't a fan of the honey buffalo sauce. The bar itself is a vibe with dim lighting and comfortable seating. It was fairly quiet when we went on a Sunday afternoon, with only a few hotel guests that came. The mixology class was an intimate experience, with only four of us there and a maximum of six people allowed to book each week's class. $50 per person is what we paid since we weren't staying at the hotel, which I thought was very pricey for a mixology class with only one cocktail being made; that's my primary reason for the lower rating plus the food quality. We also ordered during happy hour and were charged full price. After bringing it to their attention, they only discounted the wings but the draft beer and specialty cocktail we ordered should have also been discounted. Just a bit frustrating to have to address that when happy hour prices are clearly listed on the menu. read more

We enjoyed a date night at T Cook's. We had a reservation for 6pm on a Saturday night and were really excited to try it! No wait upon arrival and Israel was a wonderful server. The ribeye was excellent! We enjoyed the tempura octopus and focaccia with pesto to start. Both were fantastic. I got the lobster and shrimp spaghetti. It was yummy but I might try something else next time! Drinks were a little slow but didn't impact the overall experience. If you're looking for a great patio to enjoy a date night out I definitely recommend this spot! read more

It was a solid breakfast. I think the friendly server made the difference from 3 to 4 star. I thought what we ordered came out in a timely fashion, and felt fresh. I appreciate that they offer fruit plate vs bowl pf berries. Personally have a strong g dislike for melon and it ruins it for me so that would be a non starter. After my weekend I needed fruit. The smoothie wasn't very sweet, but felt like my body needed every nutrient offered. Wasn't a huge fan of the omlette, seemed like carton eggs. However surprised that I liked the chicken sausage and mushrooms. They didn't skimp out on those. I'll be back for more smoothies and to explore new items on the menu. read more

Went on a Monday for my boyfriend and my anniversary! We didn't expect it to be busy but there was also an insane storm so there were only two other couples seated inside, fun little private dining experience! There are no booths but we got sat at a table with super high back chairs and they had nice cushions and the chairs were next to each other which was cute. There were rose petals on the table which was a very nice touch!! We immediately were served water! Our server was very nice and recommended good wines (we got the red blend, quite delicious)! She let us enjoy ourselves and didn't rush our ordering. She also was very knowledgeable about the menu. I got the elote rigatoni with gluten free pasta and it was so good!! Tender with the perfect bite. The sauces are made to order so it was extra fresh and it was steaming hot. This is such a unique dish, I loved the sweet from the corn and the tang from the cheese and some heat from the chili crisp! My boyfriend got the beef ribeye because it was the most filling and he very much enjoyed every piece of the juicy and tender meat with the perfectly cooked asparagus and silky mashed potatoes. We were served a gluten free chocolate silk pie for our anniversary on the house - so nice and sooo delicious. My boyfriend isn't a sweet guy but he ate his half with a huge smile on his face. Came here for an anniversary dinner. The vibes were great - obviously the outdoor/fountain area is just beautiful, and everything was so nicely decorated for Christmas. Our server was fantastic- knowledgeable, funny, and accommodating. Food was also good. I loved the green goddess Caesar. Cons were that service could be slow; it took a long time for both our drinks and our food to come out. I specifically asked for blue-cheese stuffed olives but the olives that came in my martini tasted more like they were stuffed with ricotta. A nice place for a date night, but you're paying more for ambiance than for service or food. read more

What didn't go well tonight in a wonderful patio Arizona evening. I just love the Royal Palm vibe and the quiet elegance of this fine dining reataurant. Sat outside in the patio with a nice lit fireplace as the temp was unusually chilly for Scottsdale this time of year. Enjoyed a three course meal beginning with corn chowder and iceberg wedge. Both fantastically fresh and delish! We then moved on to the cherry covered pork chop and rib eye. Both cuts of meat were very tender and cooked perfectly. Dusted with fresh veggies and sauces that were perfectly seasoned. Onto dessert we wound up taking it away and enjoying f it for breakfast the next day. What a great decision as they were so scrumptious with a great cup of coffe in the am. We enjoyed walking the property, having a pre dinner drink in the cozy bar. Just lovely! The wait staff, the ambiance, the food. All 5 star! Highly recommend and will be back. read more

T Cook's is located in the Royal Palms hotel which is such a beautiful boutique hotel in Phoenix. The restaurant is also beautiful and elegant. Our server was great and she said everything on the menu was good. I started with a delicious drink called the Influencer with vodka, passion fruit, vanilla bean, and a champagne sidecar. We tried the Spanish octopus and Caesar salad which were very tasty. I also worry about ordering octopus because it can be overcooked or chewy, but this was cooked just right. The lamb pops were flavorful but I thought the lamb was too fatty. For our main dishes, the steak was cooked well but a bit dry and could use some additional flavor. I liked the rigatoni, which is house made, although it was a bit spicy. I didn't finish it so I took it home and strangely the next day the meat smelled and tasted funny so I had to toss it. That was disappointing considering how much I paid for it. Dessert was tasty. Everything on the menu sounded good but we settled for the gelato and cookies and pistachio chocolate bar (is it supposed to be the viral Dubai chocolate?? That's what my kids thought it was!) The presentation was wonderful. Overall it was a good experience. Food is pricey but it's a nice place and the food is generally good, just disappointed about my pasta. Next time I'll try a different one. read more

I'd only recommend T Cook's if you're staying on property at Royal Palms. While we didn't have any issues and had a fine meal here, unfortunately, it was nothing special. The service, food, and prices were all just okay. The menu was very underwhelming and lacking in choice. The best thing about it, other than convenience of staying here, was just how beautiful Royal Palms architecture and landscaping is around it. The best part of the restaurant is the ambiance. We came for a staycation and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Really liked the tall chairs so that for two of us it felt really private - even though it's a large space. Service was very good. Every time I took a sip of water they were there refilling it. I didn't expect to be ordering Italian here but we each got a pasta dish. Very good, great taste. The octopus was really well done and I enjoyed it. Would recommend. Dessert has some great options and the crème brûlée was outstanding. Very generous portions. The only point of caution is that if you're a picky eater check out the menu first. We had a light dinner in this restaurant (staying at the palms) and first off, the space and the ambience were very impressive. Service was very good as well. The good: The food portions were good. Salad, Pasta and bread all tasted fresh and delicious. service was great, knew not to be over or under attentive. The less good: Some choices with the dishes were a little weird. I had a ceasar salad and there were large chunks of sun dried tomatoes in it. Separately, they tasted good but they didn't really fit the dish at all. The only other retracting factor is how small the menu is. There is basically 4 options for protein and a couple smaller plates and salads, for such a big menu I thought they'd have a wider menu. read more

For our anniversary this year, my wife and I enjoyed a stay at the Royal Palms Resort where we enjoyed two delicious breakfasts at T Cook's along with a wonderful dinner to celebrate. For the dinner, we arrived to a decorated table with rose petals in the shape of a heart, which was a thoughtful gesture when they knew we were celebrating our anniversary. I ordered a tasty steak dish with corn, potatoes, and sauce, all which complemented each other greatly. I would certainly order this again though the menu has changed and new steak dishes are being offered. My wife ordered a salmon dish with sauce, greens, and potatoes, which she really enjoyed. Also offered on the menu are some incredible desserts which now include maple bread pudding, chocolate peanut butter parfait, poire noisette, royal tiramisu palms sundae, limoncello creme brulee, and house made gelato and cookies. For our anniversary, we received a complimentary special chocolate cake with a special message in chocolate sauce. For our breakfasts, we had the choice of lighter brunch options, many breakfast entrees, soups, salads, sandwiches, and lunch entrees. For both days, my wife ordered an omelette while I had a breakfast burrito while we both ordered juices and shared a fruit plate. Many hotel reservations using the Hyatt Priveé, American Express's Fine Hotels + Resorts, and Hyatt Globalist programs include complimentary breakfast for two. We made reservations for breakfast and dinner using Open Table, which recently awarded T Cook's with the Open Table Diner's Choice 2024 award. There are indoor and outdoor dining options. Brunch is served daily from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM while dinner is served daily from 5:30 PM to 9 PM (though on Fridays and Saturdays, it closes a half hour later at 9:30 PM). A fun thing to notice is that the dining room has the original Royal Palms trees right there which go right through the roof. There is also a nice, outdoor patio. We also learned that T Cook's supports the Mix Up Bar, which offers mixology classes and also the Cabana Cafe by the pool. Cabana Cafe includes shared plates, salads, entrees, kids' meals, cocktails, and other drinks. We came here to eat after looking at Royal Palms for a wedding venue. The service was quick other than initially waiting for a staff member to sit us. The mimosa flight as pictured is full glasses and very delicious. I got the breakfast sandwich which sounds plain but was absolutely delicious as it was flavored with jam and thick bacon. We enjoyed dinner here as we were staying at the resort and I loved the room and decor. The cocktail menu has many options and I opted for the orange grove which was similar to a spicy margarita but less sweet. We shared the spring pasta and the salmon. The salmon was delicious, as was the pasta which was a large serving. It was a bit rich for a "spring" pasta and may fare better with a different pasta shape than spaghetti. We are staying at the Royal Palms hotel over the holiday as our grandkids are here visiting and we have had the opportunity to have breakfast here during our stay. We are our daughters guest of honor as a globalist, so breakfast is included each day. I have had both the avocado toast and the spinach and sun-dried tomato tomato quiche and they are beyond fantastic. No boring breakfast foods here. My husband has had two egg breakfast and this morning he had the eggs Benedict And both were fantastic. Their potatoes are absolutely perfect crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. The service is impeccable, your coffee cup will never be empty and it is a peaceful ambience early in the morning. They do bring you a Nutella filled beignet, little mini ones to have with your coffee. How special is that? Highly recommend, especially if you have benefits, as it is quite pricey, if you do not! read more

I was in search of a place that offered a nice outdoor patio where we could celebrate my mother's birthday. Brunch at T. Cook's fit the bill because it wasn't a buffet - you could order individual breakfast or lunch entrees and the ambiance is beautiful. As you would expect at a fancy resort like the Royal Palms, service is wonderful. Our server made us very comfortable and was attentive. Everyone else in our party of six enjoyed their entrees. Unfortunately, I was the only one who was disappointed. I ordered the turkey sandwich and was let down in a few areas. The bread is listed as housemade peasant bread. It's really too thick and bulky for the sandwich, overwhelming it and falling apart. The turkey was a generous portion but I found the flavor to have an odd aftertaste to it. I didn't want to keep eating it, it was so off-putting. I really should have mentioned it to our server as I'm sure he would have made things right. However, I knew the table would have to wait longer for me while they brought a new entree. (That's on me.) T. Cook's is a lovely restaurant located up against Camelback Mt. in the Royal Palms resort. It's a really great place to soak in the Arizona atmosphere. This is a great restaurant at the Royal Palms resort and we were staying at the Royal Palms so we decided to give it a try. We had breakfast there every morning and the breakfast were delicious. The setting is beautiful and there is seating both indoor and outdoor so it became very convenient. The staff was very attentive and very considerate of our needs. All the breakfasts were good, I thought that the dinner was just average. The service was still good, but the food was not equal to the price. I still recommend T Cook's, but I think there's better places in Phoenix. read more

OVER RATED! Service was painfully slow and poorly managed. Hostess staff grossly underestimated wait times (quoted 10 minutes, actually waited 30+), which happened both Saturday and Sunday. At 10 a.m., there were more people waiting to be seated than actually eating inside the restaurant--an obvious sign of serious staffing or operational problems. Half the tables were not being sat and unused both days. Food was good after cooked properly. Both breakfast sandwiches had to be sent back because the bacon was raw, which is unacceptable. Cleanliness was also a major issue. Floors were dirty, dish trays on bar and a spoon sat on the floor near our table for the entire meal without anyone bothering to pick it up. Slow food service compounded the situation. Having personally owned two restaurants, I have never seen such a slow moving crew. This place is massively overrated on service and not up to par for T-Cooks. Based on our experience, it's hard to understand the hype. Hopefully dinner service is better, but breakfast was a clear failure. We spent two nights at the Royal Palms, I would stay again but eat off property. read more

Everything was 5 star during our visit. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. The service is also top notch. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. My wife and I had the liver parfait, short ribs, elote rigatoni, lamb, caramel cheese cake, and the Dubai chocolate. We loved every bite. Really cool place! It's more of a hotel but the restaurant here is very worthwhile on its own too. I got the beef bourguignon because I was very curious what that was like and it was sooo good!!! Suuuper tasty and the mushrooms and sauce complimented the beef dish so well. To top if off the portion was huge so I got to take some home with me too. Also tried the noisette for dessert which was nice and had chamomile tea :) very pretty lighting outside of the restaurant in the hotel plaza too. read more

Our server, Tiffany was a professional and very helpful. When asked, she told me the Short Rib was her favorite of the entrees. It was lusciously tender and delicious. What a wonderful place! This gem is nestled in the lovely Royal Palms Resort & Spa, just south of Camelback Mountain. (I'll review the Resort a little later - this review is for the restaurant only) I just met a group for dinner here and it was comfortable, efficient, and most of all - DELICIOUS! They have excellent noise reduction with drapes, carpet, etc - it makes for a quaint and relaxing experience. I never like places that are so noisy, you can't have a conversation with people at your table. We shared the appetizers - focaccia, heirloom tomato caprese, and beef skewers. All were winners; perfectly cooked and seasoned just right with their respective sauces and garnishes. I then had their short rib for my main dish. This was likely my top ranked short rib I've ever had, and that is saying a lot (I love short ribs and when served over a delicious polenta... mmmmmm!!) Yes, it's a bit pricy, but you definitely get top notch quality and friendly, attentive service - it's absolutely worth it!!! I know where I'm going tomorrow night for dinner! I absolutely love The Royal Palms and coming to Tcooks. This year we did their Easter brunch and originally thought we were getting the buffet but instead we booked the fixed menu. I think the buffet was a better deal for what we paid (the drinks should have been included in the $175) the service and the ambiance was spectacular. I loved our servers and just everything about the service was amazing. I loved the live music, the Easter bunny, the bread and pesto and before we sat down we grabbed a drink from The MixUp bar (the bartender was amazing as well). With such an amazing space and iconic restaurant I would have hoped the bathrooms would be cleaner and nicer but nope! The bathrooms really is the reason for the 4... I hope an upgrade is on the roadmap soon. read more

OMG the food is AMAZING, I've eaten at the pool and at The Mix Up Bar several times, both have excellent food as well. The dining room has a kinda old world feel with very comfortable chairs. Sasha was my server and he was awesome! Great recommendations, helpful with my questions, and first class service, took care of me impeccably. I was dining alone, so I even heard go above and beyond for a table near me who asked for things not on the menu and he totally made it happen, so to me that is going above and beyond servicewise. Sasha informed me that the menu changes every 4 months, which is something I enjoy, great quality but something new often. I had the Arizona Citrus starter that was super light and refreshing and then I had the mussels which were completely delectable and exactly what I was looking for the current selection has spanish chorizo and corn so it has a bit of a kick but it's a wonderful kind of spicy, it also comes with noble bread which helps calm the heat. Then I had the Smores dessert and it was heavenly, i love love love smores and this was a great elevated version, which was very balanced, I was expecting it to be overly sweet but it was actually very balanced which made it more enjoyable! Now the not so great...in the mornings there is a coffee bar at T. Cooks the lady in charge was not pleasant to my mom the first time when she asked if there was iced coffee and when I went I was completely ignored for several minutes while she was on the phone. I mean ignored, I wasn't greeted, I wasn't asked to wait a moment, nothing, so I just stood there awkwardly waiting to be helped. When she did ask the person on the phone to hold I asked for an iced coffee. While I was getting creamer and struggling with the jug I was privvy to the continuation of the call which was her talking to her someone about her data plan for her phone while she was travelling in foreign countries and how it didn't work great in the past. I also found out from my mom that I should have been offered regular coffee or cold brew and I was not, I prefer cold brew so that would've been nice had I known. My second experience at T. Cooks was trying to go there too early after The Mix Up Bar, there was a younger hostess, also completely ignored me while I awkwardly stood there trying to be seated, finally I saw a sign that said they opened at 530, so I tried to exact through the door next to the hostess stand, apparently it was locked and I still didn't receive any kind of help or greeting or anything from the hostess. Sooo I had to walk back to the Mix Up door to leave, which is fine, I'm just finding it odd that the hostesses are all apparently oblivious to guests or are just plain unwilling to do things unless it's on their schedule. The reception team seems to have the same issue but that'll be in the review of the resort. The food though and the service from the waitstaff is impeccable though so I still would recommend the hostesses are kind of minor but it's weird for the level that this resort and restaurant are at and in comparison to the pool and The Mix Up bar which are all on the same property. read more
