We've had Etheric for about a year. It is perfect. We are in Saratoga on a street that nobody services. Most choose Starlink. We didn't. We have line of sight to Etheric point of presence, and get consistent 350+ down/200+up. They are very professional, yet friendly and personal. Same price (+/-) as Elon. We are VERY happy. read more

Etheric is rock solid internet a true 99.999% uptime, I've been using them for over 8 years now. The one time we went down for more than a couple seconds was when the navy was testing equipment during fleet week. They are lower latency than Starlink and much more reliable than Comcast. Summary: Good install. Terrible performance. Terrible communication. Shady business practices. Install: This is where Etheric did go above and beyond. I have a fairly complex install with a 3 endpoints. Etheric provided all hardware, installation, and configuration for 3 separate endpoints. I had to pay for it of course, but the costs were reasonable (!$500). Definitely not looking forward to replacing it when I cancel... Performance: You can see the long history of slow speeds in my Speedtest results: https://www.speedtest.net/results?sh=510605eaf9170c572c0af43468e49d19 I originally signed up for guaranteed 10 Mbs symmetric (38Mbps max) for $179/month. As you can see above, speeds were regularly below this rate. I don't know what "guaranteed" means, but I never received any compensation or discount for the failure to meet the "guaranteed" performance. For the premium price I have been paying for 4+, years this is completely unacceptable. In September 2023 I "upgraded" to the "Speeds Up to 100 Mbps" tier for $79/month (more on the price drop below). As you can see in the speedtest results, performance is largely unchanged. Incidentally I originally asked to upgrade to the 200Mbps tier, but that was ignored. The connection also goes down on a regular basis. Usually any time it rains, or is windy. I have been assured multiple times over the years that improvements are being made, yadda yadda. It still does down a few times a month. Communication: I contacted them three times to upgrade to the $250/month tier, but never received any response. Guess they didn't want my money... I have opened 3 support cases in the last month. Zero response. This is the worst it has ever been. In the past I would at least get a response; usually a week or more after opening a case. I can't count the number of times I've received a "we don't see any problem now" response a week or two after I reported the issue. Business Practices: Recently they lowered prices by ~60% while offering (supposedly) increased speeds. I've seen crews laying fiber nearby, so I think they are panicking. I signed up immediately so I could save $100/month. On my new bills I see "Contract term: 24 months". No one ever mentioned this when I was contacted to upgrade, and I certainly never intentionally agreed to any contract. This kind of customer-hostile retention business practice worked REALLY well for the cell phone and cable companies... I use Etheric because it's my only real broadband option. There is a competitor who uses the same technology and has similarly terrible reviews. Verizon doesn't have any capacity available for cell-based internet. The only other option is satellite or DSL. Can't wait for fiber! read more

In our part of the Santa Cruz mountains Etheric offers reliable, cost effective service. Symmetric download/upload performance is very useful. Their support staff is helpful and technically competent. Rural environments often involve more challenging and complex installations than a suburban home. These guys are well up to the task, though it's never a substitute for you understanding your own installation. They also continue to upgrade their networks and after more than a decade as a customer, I've seen repeated improvements in the performance of the connection. As long as you have line of sight to one of their access points, their service is to be highly recommended! read more

Great customer service and very reliable service. The infrastructure has improved over the years and yet the pricing has stayed the same for the last 7 years! This is after my home purchase where the company agreed to give me the same rate as the previous home owners instead of a slightly higher rate. Etheric provides internet for many in our rural community - and for that we're grateful. Their performance is better than other alternatives I'm aware of: I've never experienced a download cap (unlike cellular based services), the latency is short enough to provide Voip and decent zoom service (unlike traditional satellite services), and many houses nearby can get a clear field of view to the etheric base station (unlike starlink) . The speed of the service has continually increased. I have Gigacell silver now, max 100 Mbps, commonly delivers 60-80 Mbps on sites that will send that fast. Reliability is good, but not perfect. In really bad storms we may intermittently lose connection for short periods of time (the service is wireless so it seems to be effected by strong weather). Occasionally we have outages that last a few hours. The price is expensive, but worth it for our location. read more

I live in a rural area, and our choices for network are limited. I thought we had found a decent solution with etheric, although it is priced at astronomical levels for what they provide. For reference, SLAs are 15 up and 15 down, no caps. $230 a month. Etheric occasionally hits these SLA numbers, but more often, completely misses them. We commonly see 10 down, and 2 up. On reporting outages to Etheric, there are two distinct results: 1. Tech support creates a ticket, ignores it for a week, then closes it. 2. Tech support ignores it. Escalating to Alexander seems to have no effect. It is obvious that Alexander regards his SLA commitments as just marketing, and doesn't care much about customer services. As long as you keep paying, he's happy. We'll find an alternative soon, and will return all of this equipment through Alexander's front window. Until then, we're marooned with an ISP that cares a lot more about income than it does about delivering on its promise. And, the other reviews that show 112MBPS? Total scam. Nothing etheric owns can deliver with that level of throughput. read more

Finally! We have internet! Fast and reliable! Living out in the country, for years we had to deal with multiple hot spots from Sprint and Verizon which had data caps well below our needs. Then a friend told us about Etheric. Sonia, was helpful and answered all my questions and concerns on the first call. Once I received the email with all the numbers crunched, I bit the bullet and Etheric installers were at the ranch installing less than a week later. Abel M.! This guy right here. He's the real MVP! He, along with his coworker, had our main antenna and multiple repeaters set up in a few hours. As with tech, we ran into some issues, but Abel went through multiple troubleshooting methods and didn't leave until we had a solid connection at EACH repeater with incredible data speeds. We've been with Etheric since Nov. 2020, and we have yet to have any reason to leave this dependable and fast network connection. FYI, get a solid router. read more

I've had them for less than 2 weeks and I've had two crashes so far. I'm a teacher and can't have my WiFi crashing in the middle of class I had another crash so that's 3 in 3 weeks, but they fixed it ten minutes before the school day started. I've been a customer of Etheric Networks for over 15 years with minimal issues or problems. As is bound to happen, we had an equipment failure at 10:30am one morning. I called Etheric technical support and was quickly connected to an agent who did some remote testing and then escalated (at this point we didn't know what was causing the problem). I received a call from Jose in the afternoon who guided me through some additional testing and he determined that it was likely an equipment failure and would need to dispatch someone onsite. He was able to schedule a technician on site at 11:30am the next morning who did some diagnostics and replaced the failed radio and we were back up and running! At each step in the process, I was treated as a valued customer, not just a client #. I am very impressed with how quickly they were able to resolve my issue and remain a very happy/satisfied customer. read more

I live in an area of San Jose that has terrible, ancient DSL infrastructure. With COVID-19 and work from home, it has been very challenging with the quality of my DSL to stay connected to my employer. Anyways, I was delighted to find Etheric Networks and am now rating them for their recent sales experience, install, and service. The service is comparable in cost for DSL but my DSL disconnects every hour or so for several minutes. I'm extremely satisfied with Etheric. Service quality and speed are great. My Sales Experience was excellent - their sales rep Sonia is organized, fast, and friendly. Service was equally great - their Field Technician Abel is great. Organized, skilled communicator, careful, and helpful. He found a good spot on my roof for the mount and the dish. He also did the original site survey. I recently was having fits with my ADSL/HDSL internet service from Fusion. I cold called Etheric, after finding them on some list of providers, to see if this could be a good fit for our VOIP phone system and IT needs. In short, it's the best call I've made in years! First, the biz account manager, Walter, was the best. Fun to chat with, quick concise answers to all my questions, great with pricing and plan options. Within a day or so Etheric did a site visit to confirm service would work (internet from line of sight antenna - who knew;-). And just a few days after the site visit Etheric was back doing a service install. The install tech was in and out in such a short time and he made absolutely certain I was happy and service working well before he left. I'm paying $200 per month for the lowest level of service Etheric offers - there was no hard pressure to buy a more expensive plan we didn't need - but I'm still getting double or more the speed I was receiving from Fusion (which was $350+/month)! Our voip phones are back to working FANTASTIC and my team are enjoying downloading movies during lunch at break-net speed (an unintended happy extra for them). We tried cable but the voip phones degraded in the afternoon during high usage, satellite service was abysmal, Fusion was never 'great' but we were a legacy customer from Megapath and for a time the service was...acceptable, but Etheric ROCKS! I had my doubts about this line of sight antenna idea but I was wrong - it's GREAT, zero issues. Oh and the best thing is, Etheric doesn't avoid our calls, Walter called a few times to make sure everything is operating well and that we're happy. Fantastic service and strong, friendly customer support - wow, if only all our vendors realized this is the path to happy customers. I wish Yelp had more stars to give, Etheric is TEN! read more

Etheric Network is the epitome of how not to run a business. As I write this, my internet has been glitching in and out for almost 22 hours. They still have no idea what is causing this systemic outage affecting all customers in my area. Correspondendly, they have no estimated time on when this will be fixed. I only know this because I called Technical Support and an automated message informed me of the situation. I was not able to get a hold of a live person until some 22 hours later. I called because many times these clowns do not know there's an issue with a customer's access point until that customer complains. Part of me calling is to make them aware of the problem. The tech support person thinks the problem is a bad DNS server and suggested I configure my router to use Google's DNS server, which is 8.8.8.8. I already had my router configured to this 8.8.8.8 from when they had the last major outage back last March of 2020. Basically, they don't know what's going on. The way they treat customers is deplorable, too. To Etheric Management: I do not have to out up with this nonsense. Soon there will be other providers available, like StarLink. You simply cannot treat your customers like crap and in the dark, because you think they have no other choice but to use your service. Those days will soon be over, with services like StarLink coming onto the market. Treat them good or they will dump you like hot potatoes. read more

I just got my service from Etheric installed the other day and so far it has been fantastic. The speed is just amazing compared to what I had before, but the best thing is that the service doesn't seem to slow down during the peak hours like my other service. The install was very fast and convent. They lined up the antenna to the correct tower, made a couple of adjustments and I was up and running. All I had to do was reset my router to DHCP, reboot the router and enjoy the high speed goodness! One more thing is that I participate in Zwift online cycling racing and the latency isn't as bas as I would expect. I was able to have a pretty flawless experience without any internet issues. He answered any questions I had and had my service up and running quickly. I know people are iffy about having techs at their house because of Covid, when he showed up he arrived with his mask and he was on time. High up front costs so you put up with very shoddy connections. Tv constantly pausing. Cell phones that never connect so you switch off internet and end up paying Verizon extra for the month. Every time we call they say "we are working at Mt Madonna" or "we will look into your problem on Monday" so you have no connection all weekend. It seems they are working on upgrades constantly but it never gets better. They never bother to offer to compensate you. It's like they care but not really care. Update: our internet kept pausing so we called. Then the next morning no internet at all. They called and came out (on Sunday) and fixed our issue. We ran multiple devices and all seemed good. The tech stayed for awhile. He has been gone 20 minutes. I left my TV on Hulu live and it is already pausing every few minutes. So I have changed from 1 star to 3 because they did come out. But my review is for the past year not just this current issue. I will update to five when my connections continues without interruption for longer than a few weeks or in this case a few minutes. read more

I live in the Hicks Rd. / Shannon Rd. side of Los Gatos. I had two choices for traditional broadband: Crappy LTE or even Crappier DSL. A few years back I made the jump to Etheric. It's expensive, but I've had stable connectivity and great speeds considering my prior options. I use Google Wifi at home which reports average bandwidth over 60 days. I've seen 22 Mb/s down, 18Mb/s up on their Platnium NG plan. Sure, I'd love 1Gb/s fiber, but in my neighborhood that's just not an option yet. The install guys were great. The only problem we had was a radio failure within the first month. While I wasn't happy about the radio failure, I'm aware that electronics tend to die within the first month, or work great "forever". They replaced the failed radio and it's been great since then. read more

We live on the rim of Pajaro Valley with a clear shot to the Etheric tower on Mt Madonna about 14 miles away. Line of Sight (LOS) is critical for this provider. Our previous ISP (AT_T/DSL) provided about 5Mbps down and .75 up with frequent disconnects. Because I work from home the disconnects were extremely frustrating. We opted for the larger dish (3 ft) and chose the 10Mbps plan. My life just became much easier w/Etheric, getting between 10-30Mbps up & down with zero disconnects. If this status persists, I will be more than pleased. Update: after nearly 6 months of trouble with no resolution I am back with AT&T which is 1/4 the price. read more

We live in a remote area and satellite through Etheric was one of the only options. Thankfully they provide decent internet speed for all of our streaming needs. Their tech support is really great- you can usually talk to a person in under 1 minute. When we had our system go down (due to a toddler messing with the wires) they sent out a great technician- Jorge Robles came and got our internet working again in a matter of minutes. read more

I've had Etheric's service for about 2 years now, and it's been fantastic. In fact, every aspect of my interaction with them has been top-notch. The installation was done under the most challenging circumstances (i.e., at the top of a 150' tall redwood tree with a repeater at my neighbor's house since I didn't have line of sight). The engineering team was courteous, professional and very tenacious. The service itself has *always* measured at higher bandwidth than the service plan I paid for (17MB/s instead of 4MB/s), and has been extremely reliable. On the very rare occasions when there was a problem, it was always fixed within an hour, and often before I even got around to calling their support line. On the few occasions when I've needed to call, I was able to directly dial an engineer who was able to correct any issues (or at least give an ETA) within minutes. I really can't recommend their service highly enough. read more

They are very happy and pleased...especially since they are up in the hills and challenging to get the performance/reliability of internet connections. Writing another review. BUYER BEWARE! I've been testing the speed this week because my tv and computer are buffering constantly. Saturday 1/2/21 download speed 0.44 upload 0.51. Tested again later in the evening download 0.33 and upload 0.17. Tested Sunday 1/3/21 download 3.39 upload 5.23. Testing today 1/7/21 download 0.88 and upload 0.58. There is absolutely no way that this company should be advertising fast internet and I can't believe anyone could be giving a great review about their speeds. This is ridiculous. read more

I live in Gilroy where the option to have cable or fiber internet is not available. I tried other companies out here and they were awful. It was like using the old school dial up type internet. Etheric is awesome. They are the best you can get in the area. My spouse works from home so we need fast internet and we have no problems at all so the higher price tag is worth it. When we needed internet in our rental home we went right to Etheric again. Our installer Shannon was so amazing and thoughtful. He made sure all wires and cords were hidden so everything looked clean. He went out of his way and worked extra to install our service within a few days. Dear fellow Yelpers. If you are considering a wireless provider - I do not recommend choosing Etheric. I've become their customer in July 2015 and paid $179 every month for the Platinum tariff. I've also paid about $300 for their dish. The connection was pretty good, I've been getting 20-25 Mbps download speed and 15-20 Mbps upload speed. This wasn't perfect given the price, but as my neighborhood has no cabling option it was OK. More or less I was a happy customer. Until March 2016. Now I'm getting 6-10 Mbps download speed (and it is terribly unstable, with packet losses and the speed goes up and down every second) and 1.2-1.7 Mbps upload speed which is ridiculous and has lots of packet losses. I've called the tech support and the guy told me that the speeds I'm getting - is the speed I'm supposed to be getting and nothing is wrong. I've asked why it has been so much better and he said that nothing has changed and was trying to argue I'm doing speedtest wrong. I'm also wondering why the website has 10 Mbps listed as the minimum guaranteed speed under my tariff and my contract says its 7 Mbps. Isn't it false advertising (substance over form I mean)? I don't like when customer support is arguing with customers. It doesn't feel right. Moreover, the quality of internet service is substandard, given the ridiculous upload speed. It used to be good. Not awesome, but for a radio - quite good. Now its terrible. And clearly overpriced. read more
