But luckily there was a customer that overheard us talking from Texas and told us that this was highly recommended by their tour guide. So we decided to go in, we had a little bit of a language barrier and we thought we ordered one sandwich to share but we ended up ordering two different sandwiches and I'm glad we did because they were both incredible. They literally have two tables at the very back of the restaurant by this centuries old brick wall. what are the tables was literally getting up as we were checking out so we were able to go back there and sit. I highly recommend this place instead of waiting for the other place around the corner.

The servers are so nice and funny here. We really enjoyed our server particularly, but everyone was kind. I had gone back and forth all day about whether I wanted to try the Florentine steak, but I'm glad that we did. It was gorgeously cooked and well seasoned. The sides of potatoes and spinach were also stellar - I eat a lot of potatoes and those were at the top of my list. Highly recommend, and get the steak. It's cheaper here than other places also!

We had such a great dining experience here. It wasn't until day 2 we wanted an American breakfast…read moreand this was the perfect spot!! From the burgers, the French toast to the assorted alcoholic beverages, fresh juice and smoothies this place was a 10/10. I am so sad I cannot recall our servers name! She was so cheerful and appeared so excited to be at work. We even attempted to tip her and she politely declined and instead wished to receive a review about the restaurant. I had the French toast with their spicy syrup and it was really yummy! I also enjoyed my over easy eggs. I chose the Pink Pleasure as my drink and I found it to be very fresh but just ok however it was still drinkable. My hunny ordered a cheeseburger which was absolutely delicious. The fries were crunchy and fresh. He also had Purple Drank which was very good and rich drink. Overall the restaurant was busy, clean and the staff were very attentive. I will for sure dine here again in the future!

The joint is very much like the breakfast places in Los Angeles, so we felt right at home. To top it off the staff that was helping us, Emmad (sp?) made us feel so welcomed and that made a huge difference. Of course he made everyone feel great at the restaurant. Today, I am trying the chicken waffle. At 9:17 the place is almost full. The place has a seating area in the front and another in the back. There are ten seats bar style as well. It was delicious. I highly recommend the place.

So when we…read morewent to Florence, I checked out all the notable beer places on google and Alibi was the first one we went to (it's closest to the train station.) Well, they really set my expectations high for the rest of my list. Between us, we had about six different types of beer, each more delicious than the last. And we ordered food as well - her burrito was fine, if unexciting, but my cheeseburger with an egg on it was honestly the best burger I've had in a long time. The Italian cheese on it was phenomenal. We had to go back before we left cause it was just so good. The bartenders were friendly and helpful, and the bar itself was kinda cool and industrial, but you're going here for the beer and the food. You won't be disappointed.

Although there's nothing particularly 'Italian' about this bar - it has that BrewDog vibe which could have been plopped down from anywhere on the globe - it's a great, casual place to pop in for a pint. Although we didn't try the food, we did indulge in a few rounds. The beer is always fun and intriguing, as expected from the brewery. A worthy way to kick up your feet and while away some time.

The first night we dined at this restaurant in the little tiny room in the back. It was magical. Every dish exceeded the last. We had a pear & pecorino salad. That was a work of art and we hated messing it up. We passed around our appetizers and main courses and we all loved everyone else's food. The highlight of this night and the night that we came back to eat again was the owner, Pasquale. He treated my mother like royalty. When we were coming up to the door, he jumped up from his counter and came out and took her arm and escorted her to the table both times. And then he escorted her out as well. One night when I went past the restaurant by myself, he inquired where my mom was. He made her feel like a queen and she is still talking about it to this day. We can't thank him enough for the beautiful meals and the five star treatment.

Across the piazza is a corner restaurant open for dinner only and was AMAZING!!!! Go there.

Amazingly delicious and enormous portion - - porchetta sandwich upstairs at the central market…read more Unfortunately, I don't recall the name of the restaurant, but certainly worth seeking out. If I go back one day, I'll have the exact same sandwich again!

Located in the San Lorenzo district, just a few minutes' walk from the main train station of Santa…read moreMaria Novella), Mercato Centrale is a vibrant food hall experience housed in a historic market building (very similar to the Time Out Market franchise across Europe). From the outside, it looks like a grand, iron-and-glass structure typical of European markets; inside, it opens into a bustling, multi-level space filled with food vendors, communal tables, and constant movement. The vibe is energetic, social, and slightly chaotic in a fun way - perfect for grazing, group dining, or trying multiple cuisines in one visit (from Italian to American to Mexican!). We stopped in for a quick lunch at around 2pm on a Wednesday; there was plenty of seating at high-top tables, and QR codes on paper menus make it easy to explore all the different food vendor options. It's also a fun activity to peruse the market, taking in different sights, smells, and flavors. All of us ended up opting for Schiacciatas (large Italian sandwiches that are a staple in Florence) from Massimiliano Parri, which all ended up ranging from €10-12, depending on toppings - yes, it's more expensive than what you'd get from a traditional schiacciateria, but you're also paying for the market's location and convenience. We appreciated the fact that they shave the meat right in front of you! My schiacciata came with freshly shaved ham atop crusty white bread, slathered with burrata cheese, and sprinkled with arugula and figs (I opted for no additional olive oil, since I found the ham quite rich already). I loved the contrast of textures and flavors, though I will say that the bread ended up cutting the roof of my mouth! All in all, Mercato Centrale is a bit touristy, but still miles better (and cheaper) than most "Italian" sandwich places you'd find in the US (pro tip: save your receipt for free use of their bathrooms). The variety can't be beaten, prices are reasonable for a central market, and it's steps from some of Florence's most iconic spots.
