Today was our first time going to this coffee shop and it did not disappoint! I am very picky about my coffee and it's been difficult to find a place that I love since moving to the Salem area last summer. I try to boycott Starbucks and other large coffee chains as I strive to support local businesses. The barista was very friendly and helpful. She also listened to my husband's preferences for his iced lavender matcha latte. I ordered the PSL (hot) because I saw that they make in house pumpkin sauce. First sip and I was in heaven. One of the best PSL's I've ever had. Not overly sweet or syrupy. Perfectly balanced and had just the right amount of spice. My husband was very pleased with his lavender matcha as well. Great quality at decent prices. We will definitely be returning customers! My only complaint is that the drive thru is not long enough to accommodate a lot of cars without extending into the street. read more

I have been a customer of Espresso Road for years, and their coffee and goodies always are excellent. The wonderful baristas who work there are warm and personal, making the stop one of a more personal exchange beyond the business transaction. I always leave with my day moving ahead on a good note. What I have really liked is how Starbucks had the nerve to build on the corner right next to them, but Espresso Road with their devoted clientele loving the organic coffee and welcoming spirit often have more cars waiting. I've been going to Espresso Road since they opened decades ago and it's still my favorite place to go when I'm in Salem. My son loves their snickerdoodles and I love their mochas and lattes. They specialize in personalized, friendly service and better coffee than the franchises nearby. Now that they've switched to a fair-trade coffee, it makes me feel even better. They're tucked away a little bit but well worth a drop in. Don't forget to tip your baristas really well! read more

Okay coffee but staff today were transphobic, incompetent, or both. My sister and I ordered, she their "Valencia" orange chocolate espresso drink and I a mocha with lemon syrup. Her drink was fine, but mine was curdled, either by the use of spoiled milk or by the addition of an acid--perhaps lemon juice? Either way, the drink ordered by the identifiably transgender person was undrinkable. Times I've gone there in the past while dressed to appear "male," my drinks have been fine; I've even ordered the same beverage--Mocha with lemon flavor--there before and received a normal, drinkable beverage. Management needs to decide whether they are going to train their staff better--perhaps to ask clarifying questions when someone orders an unusual or off-menu drink--or whether they're going to institute clear expectations of equal treatment for their customers. Either way, I won't be going back for a very long time. read more

Great place for morning coffee! They have a robust list of syrup flavors. A 16oz flavored latte will be made with whole milk, 3 shots of espresso and 6 pumps of syrup and will cost you less than $4. Win! They have a number of plant milk options and are happy to adjust to your specifications. The baristas are friendly and there is never a crazy line unlike the Bucks next door... They also have winter gingerbread and eggnog lattes. No matcha latte though, at least not yet. Support local and give them a try. read more

I have been to this place many times, every time I visit I receive 5 star treatment! I love their Americano with a little heavy cream and sugar free coconut...sooo good and minimal carbs haha. I I went there recently and was craving their breakfast sandwich but I missed the cut off time by 8 min, I said no prob I'll just order the drink. Erin who was the girl helping me said she would make me one anyway, she went above and beyond with her customer service and made my morning. The alternative was a sandwich from Starbucks next door which aren't nearly as good. Who ever does the hiring at this place knows what they are doing. I never hear them steaming shots and the coffee tastes like it is pre-made. Very friendly baristas and they are super quick but it's because the shots are not being made per drink ordered. Personally I like fresh shots not coffee that is made ahead of time. The coffee flavor just isn't the same as shots. read more

Cafe Mam beans! Yes! Mrs. K. and I stopped here a couple weekends ago based on the fact that they were on the "Uses Cafe Mam Beans" list. I got a 24 oz (holy jeezus) nonfat latte, and Mrs. K. gets her standard nonfat vanilla latte with half the usual vanilla. *So* delicious. The barista was very friendly and helpful. Four stars because this little drive-through coffee shop is holding their own living in the immediate shadow of a Starbucks right next door. I enjoyed glaring at the Starbucks customers as we waited for our coffee at this friendly-staffed place, knowing that we were about to have a much superior caffeine experience. Best part about this place...IT USES CAFE MAM BEANS!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!!! They use Boyd for drip coffee, but I am not enough of a purist to get drip coffee unless I am desperate. My standard vanilla latte (with half the amount of vanilla normally used) was delicious (perfect temperature, and there seemed to be a richness to it that I had forgotten about with Cafe Mam beans), and the service was speedy. They also offered our dog a little treat and we had a pleasant chat-session with the barista. Good experience. Good coffee. Good find. read more

Their coffee is so amazing I wish I could give this a better review. But the staff are just people who should not be dealing with customers. If you have more than one order be prepared to be treated like a complete inconvenience by more than one of the staff the curly haired gals the girl with the glasses and even the owner do not have very good customer service. I will say that their coffee is very good and they're cold brew is amazing. But I definitely think they either need to hire people with better customer service or maybe have a talk or training on how to treat people better read more

Growing up my dad used to stop here in the mornings for coffee and delicious donuts before dropping my siblings and I off for school. For some reason I sort of forgot about them.
