    Iced Matcha Latte
    Cindy O.

New Coffee/Breakfast/lunch/gelato place that recently opened up in Belmont Shore. I walked by it a few times and decided to try it out this morning. I was just going to go in for a iced coffee drink but stayed for breakfast! Very inviting, lots of seating inside, and a patio with some seating outside. Even a doggie bowl full of water for your furbabies! Several people had their laptops and were doing work. Quiet place and room to spread out! The menu is a bit overwelming at first glance, as they have lunch sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, coffee/tea drinks, gelato, and smoothies! The staff was very patient while I reviewed their many offerings. I decided on a Bagel with Lox/works on a toasted Sesame Bagel. If you know me, I love my bagels and drive over to Los Al usually to my other places. So happy a have found a place that is a short walk away vs driving! The Sesame Bagel was very fresh! The Lox on top, very fresh and generous portion. Open faced, easily shareable, so larger, but as usual I managed to finish it all. I was dining alone this morning. I ordered an Iced Matcha Latte, excellent! Service was very friendly and helpful! You order at the counter and then they bring it to your table. For a weekday mid-morning, it was surprisingly busy, very good to see for a new business! Definitely coming back very soon! I go out for breakfast once a week, usually by car, but not anymore, found my once a week new place!

Such a cute Mediterranean cafe with lots of food, espresso and gelato. Amazing staff offering samples of the gelado. I love the cute cherub on my espresso cup.

My friends sandwich bc I NEVER RECEIVED MINE!

A 40 MINUTE WAIT FOR A TURKEY PANINI!! I came in with a friend to finally try this spot, but it was a total disaster from start to finish. We ordered separately, and after my friend received her sandwich, I realized something was wrong since I had actually ordered before her. When I asked about my food, the lady told me she had only taken my smoothie order. She said she'd "put it in now" and told me I could just pay for the sandwich afterward since she was busy taking other orders. I sat there watching person after person get their food while I was waiting on a turkey panini! It wasn't until my friend asked for a to-go box that they finally claimed my food was "coming up." By then, I had completely lost my appetite. I told them to give the sandwich to someone else and walked out. Truly an annoying, poorly managed experience. I will NOT be returning!

Espresso Bar on 2nd Street is basically where Long Beach goes to pretend we all have our lives together. The café is cute, bright, aesthetic... like everyone inside either owns a film camera or journals for fun. The lox and bagel? Dangerous. The chicken panini? Life-changing. And the berry smoothie tastes like somebody mixed vacation, therapy, and good decisions into one drink. I walked in planning to grab Spanish latte and leave... next thing I know, I'm sitting there for two hours acting mysterious on my laptop with absolutely nothing open. Honestly, this spot makes you want to order "just one drink" and somehow leave with three drinks, a sandwich, and a new hobby.

    Matcha latte

Came across a tik tok highlighting Espresso Bar's matcha lattes and tuna salad sandwiches (2 of my fav things) so I knew I had to try it. Got lucky and found a metered parking spot out front. Upon entering, was pleased to see the airy, modern atmosphere. Perfect to sit and chat with a friend. However I wasn't impressed by the quality of food. My bf got the acai bowl and it was completely melted, like an acai soup. Or an expensive bowl-form smoothie. The granola they chose didn't complement the flavor as well. The tuna salad melt was pretty good but for the price of nearly $17, I think it could've had more to offer. It looked much less impressive than the tik tok I saw. I've been on a quest to try all the matcha lattes I can in LB, but this latte was one of my least favorite I've tried, nothing special. As another reviewer mentioned, the cashier is not very welcoming, but I would say it was an overall neutral experience as far as service. Was a decent experience but would not recommend.

I ordered a sugar-free vanilla latte and I was impressed! It had the most smooth coffee that reminded me of my mom's Armenian coffee! It was the perfect amount of sweetness and the best part was they had coconut milk! The girl helping was very sweet and the coffee shop was pretty big.

Absolutely loved this spot! The aesthetic is fabulous, there's plenty of seating, and everything is tasty and affordable. I got the iced spanish latte with the turkey panini which was huge and super filling! I loved the drink so much I came back a couple days later. Will definitely be a returning customer!

    Chocolate Gelato & Lavender Latte

Came to this place for some coffee after soaking up some sun at the beach. I believe it was a viral tik tok my friend saw that had us curious to try. We ordered the strawberry matcha which was to die for!! Also got a lavender latte that did not disappoint. The banana latte was okay, but the gelato definitely hit the spot! Loved the natural lighting of the place, perfect for sitting in & doing some work or studying. Service was quick & the bathroom was ELITE, so nice & clean.

    Tuna melt
    Asha S.

10/10 would recommend! The tuna melt was chef's kiss. I cannot recommend it enough! The only feedback I have is to include some chips or something small as a side along with the sandwich bc the sandwiches are kind of expensive to come solo.

    Mango matcha and strawberry matcha

Nice, spacious cafe to study and do work. Enjoyed my mango matcha for 1st visit and went back 2 days later for a strawberry matcha. It was that good! And the cup it come in is so cool looking.

The delicious, STUFFED pastrami sandwich the influencer got
    Carmen H.

I was one of many people drawn here after seeing the viral TikTok/Instagram video showcasing this new spot. It's within walking distance of my house, so I was excited to stop by and try the pastrami sandwich featured in the video. The interior is very cute, and the bathroom is clean and well designed. I ordered the pastrami sandwich to-go, and overall it was very tasty! The pastrami was good quality, the jalapeños added a nice spice, and the pickles on the side were great. Next time i would probably choose the sourdough bread instead because the ciabatta was a bit tough. One disappointment worth noting is that the pastrami sandwich i received looked noticeably different from the one shown in the viral video. There was significantly less meat than what was advertised. I understand wanting to make an influencer's experience special, but it's important that the product customers receive is consistent with what is being promoted. When people visit specifically because of a viral post, they expect the same quality and portion they saw online. I noticed a similar difference with the tuna melt. The influencer's sandwich appeared generously filled, while the restaurant's own Yelp photo shows a much smaller portion. This wasn't necessarily a dealbreaker for us- Espresso Bar is still new and finding its rhythm. However, consistency between what is advertised and what customers receive will be important for building trust and encouraging repeat visits. I'm happy to support small local businesses and hope to see them succeed! Consistency will go a long way in building a loyal neighborhood following.

Panini Press Pastrami Toast, matcha mango, Almond Glow Smoothie
    Jenny D.

I never had pastrami and was very surprised about how good it was. It was hot and ready to go. The matcha with mango was also very good and the almond glow smoothie was very good. 10 on all boards. I love how inviting this place it great vibes. The service was also very good easy to order and the came to give us the food which I appreciated.

Unfortunately, our experience with the staff really left a sour taste in our mouths. The server helping us seemed bothered when we asked if we could sample something before purchasing and kept making comments about us asking to try the products. "If I give everyone a sample then what? No business" ... LOOL WHAT? My fiance was genuinely trying to pick something out and wanted to sample a flavor before deciding, but the staff member completely ignored him and made us feel unwelcome. We had every intention of purchasing a good amount to take home, but because of the attitude and lack of hospitality, we ended up only getting a couple of pieces and leaving. (I regret spending any money here) The products and ambiance were lovely, but customer service really matters, especially when you're trying to support a business. We left disappointed because this could have been such a nice experience.

It's hard to find good bagels on the west coast but Philz honestly tasted better. Service was okay. They're friendly if you're a regular and not so much if you aren't... It's a busy place though.
