We just spent the evening here with a party of ten as part of a triple-birthday celebration in our family. We were originally planning on a different place, but I recently found out that this spot opened up in Bastrop. The place is smaller and a bit less fancy than the Brazilian steakhouses in Austin, but the food is just as good. I'd even argue that some of it were even better. I'm a huge fan of the parmesan pork, even though most people find it too dry, and it was better here than at any other place I've tried. The salad bar was smaller than what I'm used to, but the selection was great. Everything that I tried was delicious, and the others in my group who tried other things were very pleased, too. Everyone in our party had their own personal favorite. My four-year-old granddaughter couldn't get enough of the sausage, which was quite good. The service was outstanding, which I've found to be typical of these types of restaurants. The service staff (and I'm assuming the managers) were on top of everything, keeping our drinks filled and frequently asking if we needed anything else, but managed to also be unobtrusive at the same time Towards the end of the meal, they began asking if there was any particular cuts that anyone wanted, and they filled our last requests. I'll admit that I had more Caipirinhas than I should have, which likely made my experience even more enjoyable, but we all had a great time. We all enjoyed the experience very much, and while it was indeed pricy, it was still considerably less expensive than I would have paid in Austin. I'm super-happy that this is an option in Bastrop. I'll absolutely be visiting again, and I really hope that it does well enough to be a permanent fixture. read more

Family owned and originally from Brazil, this restaurant delivers both incredible food and genuine hospitality. You can feel the close family values in the way they treat their guests and prepare their dishes. The Brazilian BBQ was outstanding, authentic, and full of flavor. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and experience you receive. It's great to have a place like this in Bastrop...an upscale dining experience without the upscale price tag. They've got a truck setup at Ani's Day & Night. The food is pretty decent. Literally the biggest empanadas I've ever seen in my life! The empanadas are cooked to a nice golden crisp and the beef/cheese combo seasoning is top-notch. My friend and I shared an empanadas/fries basket and we were so full! My boyfriend got the Picanha sandwich and I had a bite (ok several bites, truth be told) and it was fantastic! It's their version of a Philly Cheeseteak, which face it, anywhere you go outside of Philly, it's a version for sure. I would instead call this a super yummy steak sandwich. The meat was wonderfully tender and melted in my mouth. The roll was the proper consistency to be able to hold the meat and toppings without sogginess. I had so many expectations for this place because of the yelp reviews. When I ordered it was pretty great service up until it took it over 45 minutes to get my order. When I went to ask they told me they accidentally gave it to someone else and started making mine. But he did give some free fries to make up for it so the customer service isn't too bad. Because of the wait, I was extreme hungry (hangry in a sense). Food usually taste better when you're extremely hungry, but even then the sandwich was not very good. It was very chewy and had a weird gamey aftertaste. The fries were seasoned pretty well just a bit salty. Overall they do care about their customers which is great, but my experience was not up to par. read more

Not really worth the $22 I paid for one plate. I got steak, but the majority of it was literally just fat. It was so chewy that I had to spit a ton of it out after trying to chew it because it was just so fatty and chewy. I also asked for medium rare and my steak was more well done. I've always liked watching YouTube videos about Brazilian food, especially Picanha. Naturally, when I saw that this was available in such close proximity to me, I had to stop. My eyes widened as I saw the magical word on this bright red food truck. My dream had finally come true. I chatted with the owner about all things Brazil for a few minutes, and he took time out to really educate me on his culture. He told me that I should order the Picanha, so I did. What I really liked about this place is that everything was made fresh to order. He was upfront about the short waiting time, and insisted upon the quality of his food. So I waited... And I was rewarded. The fries were amazing. The outside had a crisp, glass-like exterior, while the inside remained fluffy and soft. The seasoning was spectacular, and had a unique spice blend that set off fireworks in my palette. The Picanha was pretty good, even though it was cut off into thin strips and covered with sauce, which makes it more difficult to appreciate the natural steaky-ness of the meat. Had the pichana sandwich at trail of lights. It was really dissapointing. The meat was not great quality. Pretty mushy. Felt boiled. Swamped in mayo sauce. Just completely killed the taste of the steak. Had no seasoning to save its life. The bread was good. Overall the sandwich was edible but paying too much and if it is supposedly pichana, it's just a waste of the meat and cut the way it's served. Fries were the the best thing on the plate and that shouldn't be the case. Food took forever too and I was the only one in line. I would recommend that they season the meat, grill it, and place it on the sandwich and add the sauce on the side and probably forego it all together. Mcdonalds or any other meat sandwich would just be better use for your money and palate. Definitely not like Chama gaucha or fogo de chao in a bun which i was expecting. I was invited back by the owners and they remade the dishes. Absolutely delicious and the way it was intended to be. Give them a try and you'll be pleased. Make sure to say medium rare so there is zero confusion by whatever is cooking the food. I was very excited to try this place and I am sad to say it did not live up to the hype. I first saw this truck at the Light Fest but they were just closing! Since that moment I was craving Picahna and like anyone that loves Brazilian BBQ knows the best cut is the Picahna. Look at the website and you are greeted by freshly grilled sirloin and a juicy/sizzling cut. I ordered and paid through Google Pickup and expected that the order was ready at the specified time. When we showed up, the man working said they don't make food until the patron is there. This makes sense if I didn't pay to prevent waste... but considering I paid already, this seemed silly. Since I thought I would be in and out I parked on the street and was greeted by a parking ticket on the way back. I don't blame the parking ticket on this place.. it just made the whole experience worse considering the whole situation. Look at the pick up time and the ticket time :(. When I got the food, the Picanha was overcooked and dry. Everything was WAY too salty. Would not come back and very disappointed. It's always a great option~! We were in downtown Austin playing with our dog at Lady Bird Lake when hungry strike so I asked them to go here, my husband was not particularly happy with the option as the weather was cold, well anyway we ended up going . I ordered picanha sandwiches and not remember what my sister in law ordered but at the end my husband was so happy he followed my lead. At the same time we were able to keep our puppy Eddie with us he was well behaved on food truck site and everyone would smile at us when seeing him below our table. Really solid food truck with all the right secret sauce to being an incredible food truck. Next time I come back, I'll try one of their signature dishes instead. I had the special instead and it had pork tenderloin, sausage, rice/meat, fries, and a salad for $9.50! Lots of food for just under $10. The sausage was really good and had a great crispier texture on it. Cooked to perfection in my opinion. The salad was your typical one spring mix with ranch. Nothing special but it wasn't drowned in ranch. The rice was awesome! Had some black beans and bits of meat. The fries were definitely fresh and just came out. They sprinkled a bit of spices on it which gave it a nice flavour and kick (reminded me of the same fries you would get at a Mediterranean place). Now to the main part of the dish. The pork tenderloin was of really good quality and the flavor was decent. I just wish I had a lot more of it. The middle was quite bland. I got the spicy garlic picanha and the picture showed online is totally different from what they gave us. The only thing decent about this plate was the fries. The meat was less seasoned than the fries, 1/4 of the meat is just fat, and it tastes cheap. I mean just take a look at the picture showed on the menu vs what I got. To start, the food is fresh and all is cooked to order. I can only eat the chicken, but their Grilled chicken plate and Chipotle chicken sandwich are a bang for their buck. I tried to order the vegetarian plate, but they were out of that. Then I tried to order the Pichana Sandwich with mashed potatoes, but they also said they were out of it. If they were really out of those two things, then I think Espadas should do a more thorough job at stocking the truck. So I ultimately ordered the Pinhana sandwich with the side of fries. It wasn't made fresh because right when I ordered it, the food was given to me. I wondered if the people working just didn't want to do work in making the veggie plate or mashed potatoes (I also saw the girl working vaping in the truck). Anyway, the sandwich was good, but it's not worth a five star review. I think it needed more spice to it. I could tell the meat wasn't cooked fresh and they just had it sitting under a warmer until someone ordered it. The fries were average. I don't think the sandwich would have been worth the $10 (I was given a $5 voucher from an event). My friend ordered the Spicy Garlic Pinhana. I tasted a bit of her Pinhana and it was much better than the meat in my sandwich! I'm not going to lie, I definitely enjoyed the picanha sandwich I got today, but they lost a star because it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. In Brazil, I don't remember picanha sandwiches covered in a cheesee sauce. It was more thicker pieces of meat. I could be misremembering, but that's what I went here for. Instead I got more a cheesesteak thing. Which was totally good, but a bit less healthy than I was anticpating. Fries had a good seasoning but it was like Russian roulette! I arrived at the food trailer which is located on a food trailer lot on Guadalupe and the owners were very friendly in greeting me. After talking with the owners I landed on gaucho plate. I normally don't spend over $10 on a dish in west campus but I took a risk and it definitely paid off! The Gaucho plate is absolutely delicious and the sirloin is cooked perfectly to where it is tender and juicy. The gaucho plate comes with black beans, rice, a spinach salad, and mashed cauliflower. Although I did spend more than my $10 lunch budget this meal is big enough to where it could be two meals or just one really big meal to keep you full a very long time! Will be back again. read more

This food truck is such a gem! My mouth is watering, just reminiscing the food that we ate here... I can't believe it's taken me so long to finally try Espadas de Brazil out, but at least it wasn't too late! I'm glad to have finally tried out Brazilian food and this place! My friends and I came on a weekday night and each ordered the Gaucho plate. We also got the pão de queijo! Boyyyy, were we in for some delicious fun! Our food came in a timely manner, and the owner (didn't get his name) treated us so well and made sure everything was good! The meat was cooked just right, the greens were crunchy and fresh, and our fries were seasoned great! The rice and beans were good enough/so-so, but the mashed side was delightfully creamy that it redeemed that part of the plate! The pão de queijo came out hot and cheesy as well. I was so impressed (we ended up going to fogo a few days after, and their pão de queijo truly was such a blow!) We were satisfied and happily full afterwards! Service and food is awesome! Hungry at a 360 concert? Absolutely skip all the other trucks and head here. For $12 I received friendly quick service and an order modification due to dietary restriction. The order was huge. I couldn't finish it and had to let husband have a go. Chicken was juicy and well seasoned and the jasmine rice was perfect! Fries aren't my thing. These were good not great in my book.
