Great ambiance! They have a little play area for kids with Montessori toys. Different seating options for a group or to be on your laptop (plugs everywhere) and was told by the owner that outdoor seating is coming soon! Their staff is so kind and always suggesting something me with something new to try. They make the creeps in front of you with fresh fruits and in-house organic sauces and they change them every season! They also have a suggestion box to help them improve their shop. Oh, and clean restroom!

They charged me $1 for cream in my drip coffee. My tiny coffee was $3.90. That's insane.

Hands down! BEST COFFEE in Bastrop! I am a coffee connoisseur, and have tasted every coffeeshop coffee. Tecuen takes the win!!

We've been a few times and have been impressed every time! The food is amazing! We've had both sweet and savory. The coffee is great! My daughter loved the whipped cream so they gave her more and she was so excited. I love the clean kids play area! I also really appreciate the small gestures to be family friendly. The bathroom has step stools for the littles making handwashing so easy! Thank you! We love supporting local!

Tecuen is a freshwater island in Mexico where the business owners are from! love the colorful hummingbird!

y'all are in for a treat if you plan on visiting Tecuen for some delicious crepes and scrumptious coffee! This locally owned business had their grand opening on Saturday, August 17. Ambience is very appealing and attractive graphics with an awesome, colorful hummingbird are prominently displayed. This includes a terrific play area made perfect for toddlers! Our little one could have stayed in there for hours more! Lots of fun magnetic goodies to inspire creativity. Staff aprons and hats match the decor and the team will happily and quickly process your order. It's even fun to watch the crepes being made! We can't wait for their homemade popsicles to be available. Enjoy!

It was delicious, went here on vacation and it was definitely a good choice. The sauces are all good and a necessity for a savory crepe

He was really nice and welcoming, and he really wants to turn this coffee shop around. I had been here before when it was owned by someone else, and the coffee was alright then, but both Sunday and today's coffees were amazing. I ordered a gingerbread latte on Sunday, and today it was a caramel latte, and both were the right amount of sweet without it overpowering the coffee. Under the previous owners, I couldn't really taste the flavor too well, just sweet coffee. I also bought a blueberry muffin both times, and I highly recommend them. I will definitely be going back!

Even more than that, the staff is amazing. Each person was so kind and personable - made our day and felt like "home" (we are visiting from out of town). They even put up with my twin three-year-olds who were unwinding for lack of a nap today, and they made a bit of a mess on the way out. When we went to tidy things up, instead of eye rolls or frustration (which would be understandable) one of the managers gave us some fresh salsa to take home and try. Talk about understanding and kind - these people care, and it showed in each aspect of our visit today. We will be back for sure (but maybe leave the twins with a sitter next time;-). Thanks Coffee Dog!

It's comfortable and the smell of coffee along with a bunch of home made goodies make your coffee outing a special event. There is a great menu to Pick from including the recent addition of a salad bar. As you wait to order, there are some things to look at from local sellers and buy. Going into the seating area, there tables and some little nooks to meet a friend or work from. It's a place you can find the hours pass. The only downside is side is the lack of a sign at the front entrance that the owner is feverishly trying to get approval on. It's a bit disheartening to see a small business owner have to wait to have something approved that would increase their visibility and have their business grow. I am not sure what official dept in Bastrop that takes care of it, but they need to do it for this great little place to be more noticeable. They also hold special events here too.

They have gluten free options as well as vegan options and options for those who can have gluten. I went there for three out of the six days that I was on vacation in that area. I had originally wanted a chocolate chip cookie, but they didn't do just regular gluten free ones. However they did have gluten free peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. I'm not a big fan of peanut butter, but I thought I would try it since I was really craving a cookie. I had just the one, and it was so so so good! It didn't taste overly of peanut butter which was a win for me! It had just the right amount of peanut butter and chocolate chips. It was crispy around the edges and chewy towards the middle. I went back that same day and got two more of those cookies. The other days I went I got the same thing. One day, I did try their gluten free apple butter bar which was just as amazing! Service was fantastic! Each day I went, there was someone I hadn't seen before working. Each of them were super nice and friendly. The bakery itself had a very calm ambiance about it. It had a lot of space inside if you wanted to eat your meal or dessert inside or you could get it to go. I also love how Tough Cookie Bakery supports the LGBTQ+ community. There was a pride flag painted outside of the bakery, and that just made me love the place that much more! I would definitely recommend Tough Cookie Bakery in Bastrop. I can't wait to go back once we're back in the area at the end of this month.

The only letdown was finding out that the ice cream isn't homemade or unique to the shop--it's just Blue Bell. Now, as a lifelong Blue Bell fan, I'll never turn it down, but with a place that has so much originality and character, we were hoping for a menu that reflected that same spirit. Still, it's a cute spot and worth a visit for the atmosphere alone.
