RUDE! RUDE! RUDE!! Today a tech came out to our facility to give us an estimate on a broken lock on our door. Without even asking permission to fix it, he asked which door it was and went to take a look at it, meanwhile our boss was working in the back. We informed the tech who by the way looked like he was homless that our boss would be out in a few minutes. He was disgruntul and said he couldn't stand around and wait ,and went out to fix the lock, when he came back he said it was going to be $130??!! when we had gotten a previous qoute for half the price! I love my old faithful cabrio but she is getting on in the years--the top was down and I had just finished a very refreshing yoga class in SB when duh! I lock my keys in the trunk of the car. After spending hours trying to break into my car -- if you need somewhere safe to keep your belongings the trunk of my convertible is the place to do it -- back and forth confusion with my insurance company and a ineffective visit from roadside service, Allen from ESP Locksmith arrived on the scene. It was no easy job, the locks on the door had been switched out, the trunk lock was doing its job, and my anti-theft system was very good at keeping people out. After more than 3 hours, Allen finally had to remove the door and essentially 'trick' the door lock into thinking it was being unlocked. Hooray! I'm no fool, I could see it could have gone either way, and Allen put everything back to together so that my speaker system still works and really given all of his work didn't charge that much. He was also very friendly and though I hope I never have to use his services again it's good to know he's around. read more

Yesterday, I had a locksmith guy came to rekey 3 locks for my new house. However, the guy didn't do a good job: it was hard to pull out or turn the key, also, the deadbolt knob was so lose on all three locks so it was hard to know whether the door was locked or not when you turned the knob. The company supposed to send someone back to fix those today but nobody showed up after 4 hours. I called Alan in desperate. He gave me an estimate and showed up at my door a bit over an hour later. He helped install 5 locks on my three doors and they work really nicely. When he heard the bad experience I had with another company, he even lowered the price than the estimate he gave me over the phone. He gave me 2 extra strike plates since two of my doors didn't have one. He even showed me how to rekey one of the locks. He is nice, friendly, efficient, and professional. the WORST experience, I called to fix a front door lock that was broken at the empty apartment next door . He knew that the lock would turn and i am unable to open the door. He quoted $35.00 to come out and that there are 2 possible fixes. a simple fix will cost an additional $20.00 if the spindle and a more expensive $50.00 if the latch is broken. he shows up and asked if there was another way to enter because it would be easier to work on the lock from inside. I said the only other way is the second floor balcony, he did not have a ladder so i lent him one and gave him possible keys to open the door. He got in, went to the front door and removed the 2 screws to view that it was the spindle that was broken and it was the less expensive fix.I asked if he can re-key the lock while we had it apart. He then quoted $195.00, when i asked why, he said $35.00 to show up, $65.00 to open the door $ 30 to re-key and $65.00 to change the spindle. I was floored. When i questioned again as to why the $65.00 his reply was to go in and open the door and when i said that he said $20.00 for the spindle. he replied it is $65.00 take it or leave it. when i questioned again, he said just give me $95.00 for showing up and opening the door. I gave him $95.00 for 3 minutes of work and he left the lock apart. read more
