So before our experience this evening, I would've given this place a four. In fact it was in our number one position of French restaurants in the Naples area. The two times that we had experienced escargot 41, we were over-the-top smitten. I made reservations for Valentine's Day every bit of five or so weeks ago on OpenTable. There was nothing indicating that there was a prefix menu. If I would've known that it was a prefix menu, most likely I would've changed my mind. However arriving at the restaurant we got seated at a booth, their rendition of a booth... and this is not a criticism. I had called several days ago and asked if it all possible... Could we sit next to each other. No one returned my calls about that subject as well as the corkage fee... Which by the way was $45... I called during business hours every bit of 5 to 6 times and finally got the answer of the corkage fee. When we arrived the owner escorted us to our table,... My husband asked if there was any way that we could sit next to each other but of course it's Valentine's Day so the owner said that was not possible. However, 20 minutes later a couple got seated in the same type of booths next to each other. And while we were dining, there were so many empty tables! Our dinner, to say the least, was subpar! So disappointing!!! Loved this place prior to this experience and based on our seeking out the owners and their defensiveness and horrific quality of food... Specifically the duck that got served to my husband, The service was below standard to say the least and with a less than friendly server, owners were defensive and price point was ridiculously high... Very nice outdoor seating was a pleasant surprise. Food was really good but one server was wearing his mask on his chin and refused to cover his mouth and nose saying " I can't breathe". So much for safety. read more

Didn't like it. Place was stuffy feeling & has a must smell. My husband French onion soup was over salted, the escargot was good. My husband decided he didn't want anything more after the turn off from the soup. He told the waitress nicely that he was full. When she realized he wasn't going to order anything else she seemed to get a attitude. I ordered the salted duck for a main course, I didn't enjoy the taste of it at all. Unfortunately. We had 2 different choices of the escargot.... the Escargot 41 was very good!! We also had the mussels they were very good! We also had 1 of each fish entree and they were all good but the bronzino was the best! For dessert we had the Creme Brûlée and the owner warmed it for us! So good!! Definitely would come again! This is a hidden gem in a strip mall! Don't let the outside fool you! Stoyan, the manager and his staff were outstanding! The inside is quaint and lovely. Went here for my moms 60th birthday. The atmosphere and decor were lovely. Attentive and knowledgeable wait staff. The wine list was extensive and Stoyan helped us pick a lovely bottle. Escargot Bourgigone was traditional but excellent! Can't wait to come back and try the others! I had the halibut special and it was prepared perfectly. My mom had the bouillabaisse and it was flavorful and stuffed with fish. Second time to have dinner at the restaurant since the original French owners sold the business. We were not very impressed the first time right after the transition so we decided to give it another try. The escargot Bourgogne was good but not at sizzling temperature. I tried the yellow tail snapper which was bland and lukewarm temperature and the sauce was tasteless. The coffee was of poor flavor and not freshly made. The servers were courteous but lacked table side etiquette and manners. read more

Last nite my wife and I had an opportunity to dine at Escargot 41's new dining space now located a short distance from its former location. While still a work in progress, in place of the former space restricted space, the new facility features a large, well appointed, tastefully decorated space complete with a functioning bar (not as yet open). The room accommodates some 60 guests for dinner plus another 9 or so persons at the bar. In addition, Escargot 41 is in the process of finishing off an outside plaza which will sport facilities for another some 60 guests. And while the physical plant is expanding, based upon my wife and my dining experience last night, the quality of the food, drinks and service that Escarogot 41 has offered its Naples guests remains as good, if not a degree better in the new quarters. The escargot excellent as was the onion soup. My my wife's Rack of Lamb tasty and my veal chop large, juicy and the best I've had. Our souffles topped off a marvelous meal. Service, as usual, was attentive. We'll be returning again soon. read more

We were a little worried when the original French owner of Escargot 41 sold to non-French owners but the worries were groundless - the restaurant is better than ever. It is our go-to place for a wondeful meal in a gracious and quiet setting with very good service. It is really one of those rare "adult" restaurants that don't attract families with young children (or at least not young misbehaving children!), even in peak season. Everything is good. I usually get whatever the fresh fish is. My husband orders whatever strikes his fancy that day. We've never been disappointed. We're looking forward to seeing the new space next door. And have our fingers crossed that this outstanding restaurant survives the pandemic. Look for it in a corner of the mall off 41 that has Home Goods and Fresh Market. read more

Dinner was OK. Salmon was farmed which surprised me. DO NOT ask for vodka ~ I did. Was served 2 shots over ice, was beyond shocked to see that it was $24 when the bill came. And we are talking Grey Goose, nothing outstanding in price or quality. read more

We had a delicious meal here last night. The duck confit was superb. The wine list was vast and beyond my knowledge because of the French content but well directed by the server, who provided impeccable service. The in-house made pork pate was also tasty but could not have been nearly as good as the incredible looking and smelling escargot that was being served to a nearby table. I have to repeat what was said by other reviewers. Do not be put off by the location/outside appearance of this restaurant. I know, yes it is a K-Mart or some such strip mall but ignore it. You enter what looks like the inside of a French mansion, flowers, paintings, fine linens. As the name implies try the Escargot, must be 10 different choices on the menu. That's just for appetizers. food and service excellent overseen by the owner who is both gracious and French a unique combination. Fish, beef, lamb, duck all excellent choices and of course an extensive wine list both by the bottle and glass. In season (that means winter in Naples) reservations are a must a least a week in advance. Out of season (late spring/early summer) one or two days in advance is sufficient. During the Summer the restaurant sometimes closes so call ahead. read more

Went here for a special occasion dinner. Greeted by the host with graciousness and warmth. Service was excellent by all staff members. We were served an amuse bouche of an espresso cup of tomato bisque and it was delicious. Next, we ordered pate campagne mason to share and it was quite good and obviously freshly made. I ordered the special salad of spinach and roasted beets with goat cheese and enjoyed it, however, my partner did not enjoy his lobster bisque. For entrees, we both opted for duck - crispy duck for me, which was tasty although I've had better, and duck confit for my partner, which he found completely unappetizing, overly salted and couldn't get through it. The host was quite apologetic and took it off the bill, and he offered us each a complimentary 40-year old glass of port, which was quite divine. As you won't judge a book by its cover or a movie by its title, such concept applies for Escargot 41 since they are tucked in the corner of a shopping mall (which makes parking a breeze) -- and to remember, this is Naples, Florida, most businesses are in malls -- BUT once you have passed the doors, you forget all about the surprising location and the quirky sign. The decor is detailed with nice white lace tabletops and an opulent flower bouquet in the center of the dining room. Table wear is ornate and fine porcelain. And the menu is authentic French cuisine at its best. Bravo Naples for having such a place for its gourmets and culinary enthusiasts. Faithful to the French tradition, Escargot 41 offers a selection of escargot preparations and the one I ordered was by far the best escargot dish I have ever had in my French life so far. (!!!) From the rest of the dishes I experienced, whether the soup, the salad, the house signature entree I highly recommend (from the chef's Grandma's own recipes brought over from France), to the desserts, I was absolutely delighted. This including the wine selection and the warm and attentive service provided throughout evening. Escargot 41 is Naples French restaurants best hidden secret if you have not yet heard. New under new ownership but the chef had stayed. The new owners, 2 brothers have made this hidden gem the best restaurant experiance in town. The service is OUTSTANDING!!! They greet each guest at the door and are attentive all night, stopping by to check on service, food, drinks and, if you want, conversation. Now let's talk about the food, great specials: my hubby and mom had the super fresh seabass prepared with scalloped potatoes arranged to look like the scales. Clever presentation and amazingly fresh and delicious. The name sake: escargot has 6 different ways to order. We had the traditional and it was awesome. South of France good. We even dipped our bread into sauce after it was gone! The salad was delicious with the 3 of us all ordering different ones. All creative, all good. I had spinach with beets, goat cheese. Hubby had Ceasars which was reported as amazing and he was not offering any bites so it had to have been good.:) The only thing that was not a stand out surprisingly was the French onion soup. Walking into Escargot 41 is kind of like going thru the looking glass, from shopping center parking lot into France. Very beautifully decorated, with lace and linens, and china on the tables. But now to the main reason you go to a restaurant the food. The Coquille St. Jacques and especially the mussels, with a light cream sauce accented with fresh basil were excellent. A spinach and fresh beet salad served as a daily special was delicious. We had confit of duck and veal medallions with apples and mushrooms, again perfect. This is our favorite French Restaurant in Naples since 10 years. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is amazing. It changed owners this fall but they kept the menu and one of the chefs and it is as good if not better as always. Very friendly service. It is on the pricey side however I hope that more young people will go there and experience the real French food! Don't miss it, it's as close as you can get to France :). read more

What a wretched little place. Stuffy, over priced, the "lady of the house" or wife of the owner/co owner what have you is very rude. So if you are looking for a truly French experience, then this is your place! The food I selected, the pate and scallops st. Jacques...pate tasted like refrigerator...maybe the plastic wrap fell off and they forgot it was in the cooler, and the scallops were an unusual interpretation of the classic dish. I wouldn't ever return- better off going to the more affluent Naples restaurants. read more

Love love love this restaurant in a strip mall and easy to miss if visiting Naples. They offer at least 6 different preparations of escargot which are innovative and also the basic garlic butter prep. There are always interesting specials and my husband loves their pate. A spectacular restaurant with great atmosphere, wonderful food choices and preparations and also impeccable service. We celebrated our anniversary at Escargot 41 Saturday evening and can't wait to return. My husband thought the duck entree he ordered was the best duck he has ever been served. That's saying a lot as he has traveled world wide in his profession so he speaks from vast experience. We loved our special of the day appetizers, entrees, wine and dessert. The menu of both wines and food choices is very extensive so there's something to please any palate. If I had any regret it would be that I didn't also order one of their soufflés. The Chef/owner is very personable stopping by to be sure everything was as expected. He obviously cares about his customers and it shows at every level. We truly enjoyed this dining experience and hope you will visit Escargit 41 when looking for a fine dining experience. It was our first time and we will return again !!!! read more

What a nice experience. The entrees were excellent. However, the garlic escargots appetizer were bathed in butter garlic as they should be but the garlic was raw (not cooked long enough) and ruined this dish. Nobody asked why it was not eaten. They just took it away. The beet salad was below par as well. The service was exquisite as was the ambiance. Pricing was very fair for such a nice restaurant. All the wines by the glass were fabulous selections and again fairly priced. Definitely will be back. A nice spot for a special occasion. Maybe should be a 4 1/2. read more

We went there for my husband's birthday. The service was good, but the food was not. The duckling was dry and very chewy. When we spoke to the owner she snapped at us and replied that it was not! Since three of us had ordered the same dish and we were all in agreement it was a rather stupid thing to do. We are all in our early seventies and are very used to good food. We dine out several times a week. You can be assured we we will not be returning to to Escargot 41! read more

We first dined at Escargot 41 when it opened years ago in Naples it was French and more French from the owner hostess to the female wait staff some of whom looked like characters from a Toulouse Lautrec painting.The Escargot Bourguignon was outstanding covered with ingredients.but after many visits we found the" buy a glass of champagne" and the highest priced wine on the list being the waitress recommendation was to much of a hustle.August 23 2017 and new owners we decide to try again. We arrive at 5:30, the place is empty and we are greeted by the host and a very friendly waiter with an extensive background from cruise lines to restaurants all over the world.My wife and I both order the escargot .I, the tenderloin medallions medium rare with anchovy butter and my wife her favorite dish duck confit .A few minutes later we are served a complimentary small very small cup of soup.I looked at my wife's cup and it had lipstick on it from who knows who..Next out comes the escargot loaded with minced garlic out of a jar about a half inch of melted butter any connection to the original for which this place was famous was nonexistent.My medallions of beef arrive as a whole tenderloin about four ounces.I said to the waiter I ordered medallions he said that is how we serve it he then agreed it was over cooked .I declined a replacement .The anchovy butter was not a good idea but that is what it was and did not compliment the meat.
