I had another bike shop repair the flat for $30.00 and it took less than hour. It was noted the debris was inconspicuously in the rubber part of the tire that most people miss. Daily Rider may have replaced the inner tube but missed the debris in the tire. I say may have replaced the inner tube because there wasn't a cap on the tire when I took it to Daily Rider. I'm told caps come with new inner tubes. Why didn't Daily Rider put the cap that came with the new inner tube after reassembling, I paid $90.00 for tire repair that included a new inner tube with the cap. When I took the inner tube back to get a refund because another shop fixed the flat that Daily Rider couldn't. The person who took four days to work on my bike to no avail said that I had bad luck and got another flat on the way home from the Daily Rider shop.

Several months later, I had an issue with my seat and took the bike in again, and Greg once again provided quick service without me even having to call in advance. He didn't even charge me for the seat fix. I then mentioned that I remembered he had given me a list of potential fixes the last time I was in, and he pulled up the list himself, after all that time! We scheduled a time for me to drop my bike off for a more in-depth inspection, after which he provided honest guidance about which fixes he thought were most important and which he thought I could get by without. Everything was finished soon after. He's respectful and efficient; I highly recommend his services.

Unfortunately, I've now visited this bike shop twice, and both experiences left me disappointed…read morewith the customer service. Each time I entered, I was not greeted or acknowledged. Employees were engaged in conversations with one another while I stood waiting for someone to assist me. There was no welcoming attitude, no smile, and very little effort to offer recommendations or make me feel like a valued customer. Instead, I felt like I was being passed from one employee to another, as though no one really wanted to assist me. I also found the service prices to be quite expensive compared with bike shops I've visited in Virginia, which makes the lack of customer service even more disappointing. As an African-American man, I can't say whether race played a role in how I was treated, and I don't want to make an accusation I cannot prove. However, after experiencing this treatment on two separate visits, I did leave wondering whether unfamiliar customers--or customers who don't fit their usual clientele--are treated differently. No customer should leave a business having to wonder that. Good customer service can be as simple as acknowledging someone when they walk in, saying hello, asking how you can help, and treating them like their business is appreciated. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience here on either visit. I enjoy cycling and supporting local bike shops, but based on these two experiences, I would have a difficult time recommending this establishment unless the customer service improves.
